The Bootham Tavern - York

這家酒店離車站有點距離，不過步行我推薦下車之後沿着鐵路柵欄超酒店走，那條路過一條橋就離酒店不遠。酒店去大教堂和肉鋪街很方便，女店主也比較熱情。我住的房間在閣樓，提行李有點麻煩，不過上面還有一條廊道，就會感覺房間很寬。

I visit York regularly and mostly stay in hotels. I decided to do something different this time and stay here. Checkin is through the pub downstairs. The two younger members of staff had no idea what to do when I arrived but the third member of staff took the lead to check me in and bring me to my room. Initial impression of the room was that it was nicely presented, clean and modern. However, I was simply shocked to find that my bathroom had no shower in it. I went back to reception and asked to be assigned a room with a shower but was told no other room was available. So, for the first time in many years, I stayed in a location that didn’t even have the most basic of facilities. If I knew this before I booked here, I certainly wouldn’t have made the booking. In the morning, I asked to have breakfast. It was cooked to order and was delicious. The lady who served me was very efficient and friendly. There’s no air conditioning in the room so I had to have a fan running all night to try to stay cool. So, would I stay here again? Probably not, I’m afraid. The lack of basic facilities is a complete show stopper for me.

We had a fantastic night of Northern Soul music in this pub with a great team behind the bar who made me and my wife feel welcome as soon as we stepped into the bar. Dylan and Sass were very busy but found time for a quick chat. Great atmosphere and we will definitely be going back very soon.

Visited Last Month while Staying in York. Great Local Community Pub with Friendly Locals and Good Beer,Spirits and Cider Selection on Tap. Located within the Bootham Area close by to the Abbey Walls and the Cathedral by a short walk, a great place to grab a pint.

Excellent sports pub and neighborhood gathering place for York locals. We stayed one block down the street, and the pub was clearly the heartbeat of the neighborhood with events going on many mornings and evenings that were very well-attended. Delicious and inexpensive full English breakfast available even if you don't stay in the rooms upstairs. Which appeared to be fully occupied in March. This is not the most beautiful or historic pub in this delightful city, but one of the most-loved.

Didnt stay there but a great pub. Went there 40 years ago. The staff Dylan and Luke very pleasant and helpful with any information about York. Definitely go back there one day again. Has live music on Fridays and karaoke on a Saturday. Good mixed crowd of people.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, in the top floor room, which was spotlessly clean, spacious & quiet, with a comfy bed, good walk in shower, big fluffy white towels, complementary toiletries, tea & coffee, water, cookies, and lots of other thoughtful & useful extra touches, including an iron & ironing board, fan & fan heater (not that we needed either)! Breakfast was excellent value for money, cereals, juice, cooked full English, tea, coffee, toast & marmalade. We also loved the pub! A real “proper” pub, which is a rarity nowadays! Very friendly & welcoming, busy, with a good mix of people, decent selection of ales, with the added bonus of great live music. The Bootham Tavern is in a fabulous position too, easily walkable from the railway station (even for me, walking on crutches!), and very near & handy for visiting the Minster and all the city centre sights. We hope to be back again soon!

single room very comfortable and warm all the amenities were exceptional the staff were all really helpful would always make sure you had everything the breakfast was really great too full English and cereal as well and is in a good location

Absolutely lovely room, we had the grand old Duke of York, could not be more central if we tried. Lovely staff, lovely landlady and the locals were more than welcoming. Breakfast could not be faulted, was on the table with in minutes. Will be coming up to stay again soon. Highly recommend
