Diamonds Inn

Just an overnight stay and good as we can check in by 14:00.We got the one with ensuite bathroom too..location is just good thought it will gonna be noisy to get some sleep as it was by the road but it was well. Very well secured place..Not far from shops. Staffs accommodating and friendly..and explained everything well.

We had a lovely stay at Diamonds Inn. We booked the Standard Suite, Ensuite 3-bed room which is located at the top floor of the building. A very quaint compact en-suite family room great for a group of friends or family. All basic amenities are there including towels, shampoo and shower gels. There’s also an electric water kettle, coffee/tea, hair dryer and a small fridge! Beds are soft and comfy. Walls are thin and may hear voices of other guests in the halls during the day but was not a major issue during our stay, mostly quiet after 10pm. Location is very convenient as its only a stones throw away from one of the famous wall entrances, a pub and restaurant across and York Minster. Host was lovely and friendly as well, called to ask if we can get an early check-in and was happy to accommodate us.

Location was a little far from the main area but was still walkable. About 10 to 15 mins walk, which I deem good cos its quieter. Due to building being very old, we literally can hear people climbing up and down the stairs at night and it's very bad. First night was worst, as we had neighbours who are super noisy, make a fuss and created fire alarm at 2am in the morning. Water pressure was very bad. And the water heating for shower is the worst I ever encountered. It's either too hot, or too cold. I have to turn on and off while bathing so not to either freeze or burn myself. Not forgetting the shower area is small, and opening and closing the shower cubicle door is tad too difficult, I almost slipped while opening it. It's too stiff! Basin was also small and that I can't fill the kettle properly. Kettle was small too! 😅 Had to boil 2 times to fill my hot water tumbler. Have to give a little compliment to the receptionist though. We manage to check in late though as train was delayed but the receptionist messaged us to give us the code and placed the room card in the room before we reached and also allow us to place our luggage after checked out while we continue roaming the city before the next train. Ooh yes, the Diamonds Inn is OYO Diamonds Inn on Google. A little confused as I thought its different hotel.
