We stopped at this place in the middle of a very long road trip. It seemed to have easy acess to the highway ( not as easy as we thought), and was the only hotel offering a decent rate in the area. Well, this became the worst hotel experience of my life. It was actually so bad that it was kinda comical though. We arrived about 1 am.. very tired. The places looked horrible upon arrival. Almost scary. But we were so tired that we didnt even care at that point. The lobby was also disgusting. There were actually roaches crawling on the floor ( no joke). They checked us in quickly, and we went to third floor. Upon entrance the room didnt seem to bad, but things quickly went down hill fast. For one half the floor was soaked by the dripping AC and it created an awful, musty smell. We didnt realize the floor was wet until our socks were off though, so we had the nice experience of walking in the AC water barefoot. Two, the drip from AC was so loud we would not have been able to even sleep. And third, not only did the phone not work, but lights were randomly flickering off and on in the room. We both agreed we would probably not be able to sleep, so for the first time in both of lives we actually left a hotel after checking in. Between the two of us we have probably stayed at over 100 hotels in our lives. And bare in mind --this after 8 hours on the road and being dead tired. We were not exactly in a picky mood. The only positive thing is that the front desk clerk refunded our money without any questioning at all. I am guessing they must be used to it. We left their as quickly as possible and hit the Ramada up the road a little. Which was a much better experience. I would not advise anyone to stay at this hotel. If money is tight, or this is the only place available, sleep in your car. You will feel safer and cleaner then staying at the Travelodge.
