Hotel is Great. Breakfast is included in your stay. The rooms are gorgeous and with an amazing matterhorn view from our room. The spa and sauna were also amazing. All staffs were very helpful.

The Matterhornlodge is located about a 5-10 min walk from the Zermatt station.
We arrived at about 1pm and were informed that check-in was only at 2pm so we went for lunch and returned at around 2.30pm. We were greeted by Ruth, the proprietress of the hotel, who gave us a comprehensive briefing of the house rules and policies. Ruth was very warm, friendly, and charming; she was very guest-focused and was happy to find out more about where we were from and what we planned to do. Ruth even gave us recommendations for Bern when we told her we were going there next.
Although the hotel is stated to be 4 stars, we were very impressed by the room and the amenities. The bathroom came with a bidet and the toiletries provided were of good quality. The room was also very spacious with enough room to open up 2 luggage bags. The towels and robes were thick, warm, and fluffy.
The breakfast provided in the morning was also quite good with a decent selection of breads, cold cuts, cheese, and eggs.
At checkout, Ruth also gave us a complimentary ride to the train station in her electric vehicle.
All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay at the Matterhornlodge and we were very impressed by Ruth’s hospitality.

If your travels include Zermatt, look no further. Matterhorn Lodge is the place to book. Very upscale hotel with excellent attention to detail. Right from the check in we were very impressed by hotel reception and especially Emilia. She has been wonderful throughout our stay. She recommended places to eat and shop. She spoke great english n answered all our questions. We still have 2 more nights here. Breakfast is great. Simon is the egg man and does a great job. Coffee is the highlight. This stay has been one of the most memorable ones yet.

This is one of the best hotels we have had the pleasure of staying in. We were expecting high standards being in Switzerland and we were not disappointed in any way, in fact the standards exceeded expectations. The first impressions were so good, the hotel oozes warmth and welcome and the host greeted us within moments of arrival and made us feel very welcome, like a family would. We were encouraged to contact reception for anything that we needed or wasn't as we would like.... we never needed to make a call. The interior decor was perfectly balanced for the location and everything was spotlessly clean. The room was warm, bed comfortable, and bathroom beautiful - we even had the most amazing view of the Matterhorn!. The quality flowed everywhere with Villeroy & Boch products clearly very popular. Breakfast was a repeat of all the above, excellent choice, excellent setting, and excellent service. Finally, on the note of overall service, we really cannot say a bad word about any member of staff. They work like one big happy family, it was such a pleasure to watch, and be looked after by a happy, competent and confident team.

I relied on *********** in selecting Matterhorn Lodge Hotel and Apar**ents for my four night stay. Communication was excellent for my potential late arrival by train from Frankfurt Airport. I arrived shortly after 21:00 and Ruth greeted me. We briefly discussed procedures for the stay and moved on to plans for the next day. She provided with a comprehensive trail, train, tram, chairlift, and gondola map. I told her I was interested in one route on my second day that involved somewhat higher elevation. She provided me with a suggestion for acclimation to altitude and loosening up for day one. The maps she provided were self explanatory and the main resource I needed. My room was stylish, clean, well furnished, quiet, and easily one of my best lodging experiences in 15 years and 54 overseas trips. The morning breakfast that was part of the package was well prepared and included a range of food options. The lodging was centrally located and convenient to the main train station and the many shops and restaurants on the main streets of Zermatt. I enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff and would look to see if there was space available for any future stays in Zermatt.

Excellent hotel and super support staff. Great view of the Matterhorn from our balcony (room 105). Awesome breakfast with the full range of hot and cold food. Room and shower were updated and beautiful.

We booked our trip from Florida with a travel company that we’ve never used before. One of our accommodations was the Matterhorn Lodge. We were blown away with their service and the clean modern look of our room. They treated us like family which is rare today. Breakfast was amazing. Would highly recommend staying here. You won’t be disappointed!

Excellent room and hotel! We stayed here for 1-night before catching the Glacier Express Train. The staff went out of their way to make it a great experience. The lodge is beautiful -- and its all in the details! Adorable slippers & robes in the room, a big bath tub (and bath salts), super comfortable bed. The breakfast was amazing and had ton of options -- a huge tea selection (like I've never seen before), fresh fruit/yogurt, meats, eggs, etc. Ruth made sure that we (and our luggage) arrived to the train station on time. We had a great stay and would certainly recommend it!
