Zhoushan – kurorty

We had a good time in Zhoushan ,breath of fresh air and very polite people. The surroundings outside were lovely with a lot of greenery and place to walk in the evenings. The hotel is also close to a mall which was a walking distance and we found a reasonable western restaurant. I loved the bathtub and the view from our room. Breakfast was not bad either. However,After looking at reviews,I saw one saying pool was not working. I called to confirm and I was given a vague reason for this. However to my surprise,I was overjoyed to see it open when we got there. The outside one not fully filled and inside was much better.From first glance ,the hotel looked great…met my expectations from glance…then got to our room. In this hot weather the first thing we did was turn on the AC and it was not working. We called to report this and we were told that someone is coming. We waited for a while and no one came,and second time around we were told the person got busy though someone is coming.finally we went down and we were changed to another room with a working AC. Tv was not connected,had to call again and someone was sent to fix this. The place is fairly old and not well maintained. Facilities are in place,however not operational or not well maintained. The bar is there,though not operational,they had to find us beers somewhere else.Italian restaurant is there but there is not an operational Italian restaurant.. One of the other issues was a musty smell along the hallways and rooms,this really irritated my nose. It’s a very unpleasant heavy smell that can’t be avoided. It’s even on the linen,it was not nice sleeping in the linen at all.I’m definitely not booking at the same hotel again if I come back,because it’s not Sheraton standard at all. I was disappointed but tried to make the most of our time there.

Good location, no beach, but at least with a car easy to go to nice beaches in short time. Otherwise in the middle of lots of restaurants, outlets and entertainment Cleanliness: Well.... 4-5 stars for the a bit old but well maintained (and for kids lovely decorated) room. 1-2 stars for the restaurant with sticky floor, sticky tables and for 2nd floor lobby toilet max. 1 star. Main issue and absolutely not Hilton standard: the breakfast. Neither Chinese (my wife is Chinese and tried it) nor western food meet any Hilton standards. No fresh fruit juice, old and dirty coffee machines. The staff was very helpful though and tried to soften the obvious issues. Which leds to the conclusion: this hotel seems to have a severe management problem. I would rather not choose it again. Especially as it was way too expensive. We paid 1700+ RMB per night (2 adults, one kid) including said breakfast.

Although it is far from the popular scenic spot Zhujiajian, the whole family thinks that this hotel is very good. Seafood noodle shop. Many people in the comments say that the bed is too soft, but I really like soft beds haha. I go to the gym for a run and swim at night, and come back to take a hot bath, and I slept very comfortably. The sea view room has a beautiful view from the window, the room is big enough, and the view from the breakfast room is great. I ate a meal at Gaojiazhuang on the second floor, which everyone strongly recommends. Except for the hairtail, there is nothing particularly remarkable about it. It takes ten minutes to drive to Lanyue Lake and Hong Kong Island Bridge to watch the sunset, and Zhujiajian Daqingshan is even more beautiful. Zhoushan is good and worth visiting often.

I didn’t do a strategy to choose a hotel randomly. You can see the sea and feel very good. The hotel is in a resort, and the price/performance ratio is quite high. The environment of the whole resort is very good, quite high-end, very quiet, very suitable for bringing children to play, there are many entertainment and sports facilities inside, you can stay for a few more days during the summer vacation if you have time. It takes about ten minutes to go to Dongsha to watch the sunrise in the morning, and five or six minutes to drive to Nansha, because I can only visit other attractions for one day, and the facilities in Zhujiajian are much more mature than other small islands in Zhoushan.

All in all, my husband and I had a very pleasant stay at Xiangsheng Grand Hotel on Putuo Mountain Island. The Island is a real retreat if you manage to keep away from the masses that are pouring into some of the amazing temples ... not all and not at all times though ... The hotel itself looks very beautiful and it is kind of build on the rocks looking onto the sea. We had a room with a balcony with ocean view and we loved this fact - even the big amount of rain we got on ”our” Putuoshan weekend didn't disturb this. The room itself was quite big and clean, as was the bathroom. Towels and bedding were up to standard. The only thing that bothered a bit was the smell in the room - smoker (although they did some fresh air treatment) and also a bit moldy ... but with the possibility to open the windows (and a working AC when the windows were colsed) it was bearable and didn't destroy the overall good impression. The hotel also has an indoor pool and a beautiful outdoor pole with bar, but unfortunately both were closed ... The breakfast buffet was very typical Chinese, but quite big, so we definitly found something that we liked and didn't have to start the day hungry. Both mornings, my husband had a freshly made noodle soup with veggies that he liked very much. There were also pastries and fruits offered. For coffee drinkers I would recommend to take your own favorite coffee drip bags and then just add hot water as the coffee that was avaible for breakfast was sweetened and with milk powder - not my cup of coffee! The hotel employees, especially one really kind lady, were quite helpful and friendly. We were happy to use the shuttle buses of the hotel that picked us up from the ferry terminal and also dropped us there on the way back - the busses also got us to special stops on the island, from which we could reach every place worth visiting. The hotel gave us big umbrellas to use during the day - very useful service as we got tons of rain. All over an enjoyable time out and very much recommandable!

Those who checked in at night could not see out of the window. When I got up early in the morning, I found that the mountain outside the window was overgrown with ****s and trees. Is the downstairs a garage exit or a garbage disposal? There was a rumbling sound from the laundry room next to it. I didn’t know what was going on downstairs early in the morning. Was it the noise from the computer room or the garbage truck that woke me up? When Ctrip booked a room, it was marked that it wanted a room with a good view and a quiet room. The receptionist also specifically said that the room would be upgraded for free, but the result was an upgrade to such a ”good” room. Later, I reluctantly solved the problem by strongly requesting to change rooms. It was off-season when we checked in before the Chinese New Year, and there were countless empty rooms in the hotel. We stayed for so many nights during the Chinese New Year. Isn’t it worth arranging a better room? ! There is really a gap between the price of 1680 and such service. We are also regular guests. We booked this hotel again because it was a comfortable stay. Unexpectedly, the experience this time was not satisfactory. The hotel has a good location and environment. Can the service keep up? The attitude of the front desk lady was undeniable and unforgettable. Also, the shower base in the shower room only reaches to the chest level, so I don’t know how to take a shower. Other facilities are okay. Maybe the hotel is understaffed during the New Year and the service can't keep up.

I have stayed in this hotel several times, and it is also the closest to the sea. But the hotel facilities are old, the glass windows of the sea view room are not sanitary, and the breakfast is average.

Such a great weekend away! Tao hua island is one of the smaller islands that make up the Zhoushan islands but the area is so beautiful! The B&B went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible - great food in the adjoining restaurant, the room itself was clean with all modern fixtures, and most importantly the staff and owners were friendly and welcoming; they were keen to help with activity planning, transport and food! We had a great time exploring the island’s mountain scenic resorts, beaches and small villages. We will definitely be coming back as there is still lots to see, and it’s like being in a home away from home staying at this establishment!

Challenging for foreigners right now. Went for my birthday this year. Plan to sit by beautiful outdoor pool, go to beach, see some temples, eat some good food. Despite paying for upgrade, our room was on ground floor looking directly on construction. However, they did move us to a smaller room with great views. Also, pool was “closed”. The whole reason I booked the hotel. However, after much negotiation, they let me use the pool. The food was supposed to be excellent, but was really just mediocre. My travel partner is Chinese and I have lived here 8 years. I was just hoping the Chinese food was better. I didn’t even try the western food, as it did not look appealing. Also, rules were not consistent. One morning we could eat breakfast outside, next morning we could not. So a bit of a challenging birthday trip.

The front desk of the hotel is very enthusiastic, and the housekeeper added WeChat in advance. The snacks were delivered to the guest room. Although they are small snacks, it can also reflect that the service is more meticulous~ I took the initiative to upgrade the room type, which is good👍
