„Das positive vorneweg, das Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich, aber auch vollkommen überteuert. Wir hatten 3 Nächte über Trip.com gebucht und uns wurde mitgeteilt wir müssten nach zwei Nächten das Zimmer wechseln, da sie ausgebucht seien und wir könnten die letzte Nacht stornieren, wenn wir nicht bleiben wollen. Wir wollten das Hotel uns erstmal ansehen und haben gesagt wir melden uns. Das kuriose war, dass wir die einzigen Gäste waren. Wir sind dann eine Nacht früher abgereist, es hieß wir sollen über Trip.com stornieren und eine Stornierung der letzten Nacht wurde natürlich nicht akzeptiert. Wir hatten auch das Gefühl, man war froh uns wieder los zu sein. Das angebliche Restaurant hat auch nicht geöffnet, so dass man in das Dorf muss. Einem anderen Rezensenten wurde im übrigen die Story von dem angeblich ausgebuchten Hotel auch schon aufgetischt. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und die Bedienung freundlich.”

Staying at Zuela was ideal before doing a 3 days trek nearby. It was clean, spacious, convenient, good breakfast and the front desk staff was helpful. Was surprised to see all the negative reviews before booking and almost didn’t book as a result, but there is really nothing to worry about. If you are here most likely you are going to explore nature and stay in much more rural conditions, so better adjust your expectations or choose somewhere else to explore if you expect a 5 star luxury resort. Zuela also offers laundry service (and other services like transportation) if you need it. If you do like to have shampoo and conditioner then bring a small bottle but there is basic soap to use. Would definitely stay again if back in Luang Namtha.

Wow, it's been so long since I've seen such beautiful scenery! Every morning, I opened the large window in my room and stepped out onto the terrace to see gorgeous mountains, hear birds singing, and watch the busy logistics trucks moving below — it was truly moving. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The ride service from the train station was great, and the room service staff were very kind. The only small downsides (2%): the restaurant street was about a 10-minute walk away, so I had to walk back and forth twice a day for lunch and dinner. Also, since my room was at the end of the hallway, the WiFi signal was weak near the bed — I had to go to the entrance door to watch videos on my phone. Similarly, the 4G signal was only strong when I stepped out onto the terrace. But these minor inconveniences were more than made up for by the stunning view, the quiet and clean room, and the comfortable bed. I've saved this hotel in my memory as a place I'd love to stay again. Thanks!

The hotel's service was simply impeccable. From check-in to check-out, the staff were consistently warm, friendly, and incredibly efficient. They were always quick to respond to guests' needs and went out of their way to accommodate any special requests. Whether it was offering travel advice or arranging transportation, they made sure guests felt truly cared for.

It has becamea regret going to Boten. Staying at this hotel had no problems and was about glad when arrived. However damaged items in room prior to entry that could implicate (previous hotel did) then after much hatred felt through deceitful delusions , insults, accusations and discrimination (including language deceit to vulnerabilities) with pain from phones, hidden devices and internet (manipulated from other guests) while many were happy laughing at me with disgust or create defamation for more problems to receive. This area was nice but became exactly the same as many part of Lao. The area became too noisy with loud sounds or music where people knows how to use technology to create suffocation swollen pain and fever hurt. Worst was this area provoked ill feelings to China. Look at these photos of prices manipulated from internet of worthless exploited tourism to money.

Stayed for a night on a business trip, the location is not mentioned, because it is too small, there is no city center or city center, downstairs is full of food and play, including the kind you want to play, there is a big supermarket next door, I saw a few bad reviews before, maybe the peers are spoofing, The Lao waiter in the room was very serious. I also tipped. She was not surprised. The front desk service was also very good. The driver was a bit dry and dry. He asked him not to sit at the front desk in the future. For those coming from Boten Station, please book the hotel's shuttle service as there are no regular taxis available. There are shared taxis (large vans), but they almost 100% go to the border checkpoint. Also, on Western websites, Boten hotel names are only listed in English with Pinyin. In town, hotel names are mostly in Chinese characters, so if you can't read Chinese, you won't know which hotel it is unless you're dropped off directly by a shuttle. This hotel is by far the largest and oldest in Boten. What I found out during my stay is that the interior is sparkling new, the Wi-Fi signal is weak, only a few TV channels in Chinese and Lao are available, and there's no refrigerator in the room. Is this because tourists just pass through this border town between Laos and China, which also has a high-speed rail station? It's a shame, but perhaps understandable.

Hotel offers airport/train pickup. But my request to pickup via Trip.com was overlooked. However, the staff services were great and helpful. They offered drop off at the Laos border customs on checkout and call forward to my next destination hotel. There is a serious issue that the management needs to look into. My room had strong cigarette smell and when I asked for nonsmoking room, I was told there is non available! I had a serious headache caused by the cigarette smoke smell despite I opened the window through out the night!

The hotel was very clean and the owners are very nice. For example, I had mistakenly left some belongings on a bus the previous day and wasn't able to speak very good Lao to explain at the bus station. After I messaged one of the owners of the hotel on WhatsApp, he went out of his way to drive me to the bus station the next morning, explain my situation to them, and help me successfully get my belongings back. Both owners were extremely kind and hospitable, and I would highly recommend this hotel.

The room was nice, bright and clean.  There was hot water pot for tea.  The location is in the center of town and everything is within minutes of walking.  The staff were hospitable and helpful.  The hotel also provides complimentary pick up and send off to and from the rail station.

Let's start with the positives: the room was clean and tidy, but also completely overpriced. We had booked 3 nights through Trip.com and were told we'd have to switch rooms after two nights because they were fully booked. We were also told we could cancel the last night if we didn't want to stay. We wanted to check out the hotel first and said we'd get back to them. The odd thing was, we were the only guests. We ended up checking out a night early. We were told to cancel via Trip.com, and of course, a cancellation for the last night was not accepted. We also got the feeling they were glad to see us go. The supposed restaurant wasn't even open, so you have to go into the village. Incidentally, another reviewer was also fed the same story about the supposedly fully booked hotel. The breakfast was sufficient and the service was friendly.
