Having stayed in the Netherlands many times over the years, it’s easy to say this was by far my favourite stay - wonderful hotel, perfect location in Arnhem and great food and service - Highly recommended
Great location and clean facilities. We booked a room with 2 single beds received one double bed however. When asked about it the response was all rooms with single beds are booked out.
Decent sized room, reasonably priced. Although we didn’t have dinner there (attending a concert which ended much later than the dinner service), the option was available.
Comfortable beds and pillows, bathroom had a generous sized walk in shower (very easily accessible for visitors with limited mobility.
Although other guests had alleged issues regarding the renovation works, we were fortunate that this didn’t affect our stay. The hotel appears to have taken onboard earlier reviews mentioning tired decor - we can attest to the fact that the hotel are implementing some significant improvements.
Friendly and welcoming staff.
Would love the opportunity to return and see more of the area.
I stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel is in a good location. It’s close to the train station. The closest park is 6 min walk from the hotel. The amenities can be requested from the front desk. The room is small but sufficient for a one person traveler. The bed is a single bed and quite small. The bathroom is also small. The shower section is partitioned by a glass but it covers only 50%, so the water will splash outside the shower section when you take a shower. The floor is usually wet after a shower. At the lobby, there is a meeting section, you can have a business meeting there. Coffee is also free at the lobby. Recommended for business trip. Not many restaurants nearby, but there are many restaurants in the 10-15 minute walking range.
Front desk staff was courteous and professional. The corner room on the ninth floor had a great view. Open bathroom is a little strange and toilet is extremely small. Compared to other van der Valk properties this one ranks much lower than others. Very slow internet, little choice of TV stations, no streaming services etc.
I enjoyed my stay here, its in a beautiful environment and the staff's are super nice.
My only problem is the balcony needs more cleaning.
Would love to visit again

Great
GGuest UserHad a wonderful stay at Hotel Haarhuis. Friendly staff and a very atmospheric hotel. Highly recommend it and I'll definitely be back myself! ;)
SSoulfulExplorerIt was an okay experience. I’ve stayed here before mostly due to the convenient location of being next to the train station, however I feel the hotel needs an update. Light switches were not working properly in the room and it left a tired feel to the property. The management team should consider updating the facilities to reflect most Mercure hotels
EEkushaThe location of the hotel is away from the bustle of the city. The room is clean, spacious. The plus was the presence of a swimming pool and sauna, everything is also clean. The hotel staff is friendly. I will gladly come back.

GGuest UserUnfortunately, I didn't stay at the site because of flight changes.
But I couldn't get a refund from the hotel. Later, after coordination, Ctrip refunded me. Although I was not satisfied at first, Ctrip refunded me in the end, which also protected my rights.
To be honest, applause is welcome here.
GGuest UserHotel facilities are good, the room is large, the surrounding environment is beautiful and quiet. Unfortunately, there is no time to enjoy the special SPA service.
Hhmm117The newly opened hotel is said to be a girls' school. There are two types of rooms: one is a standard large room, which is larger than other hotels, but a little dark; the other is a loft with a higher ceiling, and the bed is on the second floor. The surrounding area is a residential area, and it is still a bit far from the train station if you drag your luggage there, which is a bit awkward. The breakfast is standard, and everything else is good.
GGuest UserWe had to wait 45 minutes before we could get into our hotel room. Room was good, spacious and clean. Unfortunately, there are a lot of cuts in single-ply toilet paper
The breakfast was not that good; the rolls were not sufficiently baked so they were not edible. Other bread was delivered too late to the breakfast table. Furthermore, it was very busy during breakfast; there was a long line to get to breakfast and far too few places for all guests. We also missed a waste bin on the tables, where you can put your waste directly during breakfast.
The lockable bicycle shed was very poor; All of Fletcher's bicycles were in the shed, so guests had no place to park their bicycles. Furthermore, the roof of the shed, which was nothing more than a container, was torn and when it rained the bicycles were still soaked.
There was a swimming pool, but the staff did not indicate anything about bathrobes.
All in all a disappointing hotel.
