„Had a nice stay here. Spacious and clean. It really looks just like the pictures. Beautiful views of the city. Great walking street just outside with lots of food vendors and shops. Would definitely stay here again. There was a small issue with smell when you first walk in, not sure if it’s the pipes or maybe being near a garbage chute. Staff said they would take care of it but it persisted. Only noticeable when you first walk in so not a big deal. Entry is shared with another hotel and apartments so it was a bit confusing at first. But the front desk staff are super nice and really helpful to help you find your way.”

Do note that this is not Novotel hotel, it is Novotel Living which is a cheaper option, though their lobbies are just side by side and we can use the Novotel hotel facilities.”

„The room is very cozy during winter. Xiaoyu is very helpful and thoughtful. Letting us for few hours early check in and let us store luggage before our flight departure. „Great room at a great location, with a stunning view of the city. The room description is very accurate. The room is clean and comes with a washing machine and mini fridge freezer. Staff is very friendly, from the Uncle at reception and the Uncle at the entrance door to the Auntie who cleans the room. It was a little hard to find the office/reception, at first. [The reception has a sign outside: SUNPON Hotel instead of Shangpin hotel] Lots of Kunming's attractions are within walking distance. There is a mall nearby where you'll find restaurants, supermarkets and shops and at night around dinner time food stalls appear. The bus and subway are nearby and you can easily hail a car. The host of the hotel provides a guide with information on food, transport and attractions (and how to get there) He's always just a WeChat away and extremely helpful. In case you need to translate; WeChat has the option to automatically translate Mandarin Chinese to English. We stayed six nights and would highly recommend this place. Hope to be back some day.”

The interior is modern and comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day. The room is also equipped with a screen projector, which made movie nights extra enjoyable. The view from the room was nice and added to the overall experience. The location is convenient, with a shopping mall nearby. We also appreciated having a washing machine and a designated laundry area, which was very useful, especially for longer stays. The owner was kind and accommodating and approved our request for a late check-out at 2:00 PM so we could complete our work without rushing. However, the hotel is a bit far from Nanping Street and other tourist areas where you can enjoy night walks and night markets. That said, it was perfect for us as we mainly stayed here to rest and prepare for our flight the next day. Overall, a comfortable stay with good facilities and thoughtful hospitality. Recommended for travelers looking for a quiet and relaxing place. 😊”

Excellent location, a short stroll to Tangzixiang metro station (including small local restaurants and convencience stores) and about 500m to Dongfeng Square and Jinbi Street tourist area. The owner/manager was friendly and helpful. Overall, good value for money, even considering the negative points below. Washing machine was a blessing, buy the spin cycle was not very strong. The loft bed was on a hard wooden platform with a thin mattress. I had a very uncomfortable sleep the first night, then discovered that the downstairs couch folded out into a sofa bed where I spent the next 4 nights. This was much more comfortable, but the side of the bed was not braced so that when I put my weight on the edge to get up, the whole thing tilted down to the floor, tumbling me out. Cleanliness was so-so - benchtops etc were clean but there was quite heavy dust on, for instance, the loft bulkhead ledges (which I cleaned to hang my smalls on to dry) and the window frames. Corners in the bathroom and shower also left something to be desired. The whole apartment could do with a very thorough deep clean. Cupboards, kitchen joinery, wardrobes etc were showing their age. A number of the walls and skirting boards had been painted with undercoat, so perhaps the owners are in the process of renovating. If so, it would be much nicer. Overall, for a single man staying over Chinese New Year, it was acceptable - especially for the price. But I wouldn't take my wife there if we came back to Kunming.

We stayed at Yulinlin for our final few nights in Kunming and overall had a pleasant experience. The reception team was exceptionally helpful and responsive throughout our stay. Our driver had difficulty locating the entrance upon arrival, and the staff kindly came down to receive us and assist with our luggage. They also went the extra mile by helping us collect our Taobao parcels from nearby lockers when the delivery was not sent directly to the hotel. The location is one of the biggest highlights. It is located right beside Novotel, and we often used the Novotel lobby as our taxi pick-up point. There is a 7-Eleven downstairs, a large shopping mall just across the road, and plenty of food options within walking distance. The MRT station is literally at the doorstep and connects conveniently to the mall, which made getting around especially easy with young children. That said, housekeeping could be improved. Our Level 6 unit was not as clean as we had expected. The floor felt dusty upon arrival, and when we wiped it down ourselves, the cloth came back completely black. We also had to request that staff and cleaners remove their shoes before entering the apartment, which may simply be a difference in local practices and expectations. Despite these minor issues, the excellent location and responsive service made for a comfortable stay, especially for families looking for convenience and easy access to transport, shopping, and dining options.

The room is very close to the train station, just a short walk away. There are also specialty shops nearby. The front desk lady was very patient and helped me get a band-aid, and also enthusiastically recommended the Shuanglong shopping mall and restaurants next door. Definitely worth recommending!

I have to say, choosing Novotel Living over a hotel for our family trip was an incredibly smart decision. Here's my review: **Service:** This deserves a commendation first and foremost. The staff were available 24/7, ready to assist with anything we needed. When we first checked in, a bathroom exhaust fan wasn't working. After informing the front desk, it was fixed by the time we returned from dinner. The apartment has an induction cooker for heating food, and when we requested pots, bowls, and cutlery from the front desk, they were delivered immediately. The service was absolutely fantastic! **Facilities:** The apartment's facilities are brand new. The refrigerator, washing machine, and range hood are all Haier brand appliances, and all the bathroom fixtures are German Villeroy & Boch. The decor, construction materials, and furniture selection were also very thoughtful. Whether it was the sofa, chairs, or bed, everything was super comfortable! **Cleanliness:** Housekeeping cleaned promptly and thoroughly every day. Towels, laundry detergent, toiletries, and drinking water were replenished regularly, and if we needed more, they delivered it right away! **Location:** The hotel apartment is right outside Exit A of Fuhai Station on Metro Line 5. It's incredibly convenient, yet without the noise and traffic congestion of tourist areas. An excellent choice of location! What's more, we initially booked a standard family room, but they spontaneously upgraded us to a free loft apartment! It had independent bedrooms on two levels and two bathrooms, which my family absolutely loved. Thank you for this wonderful surprise! I genuinely highly recommend this to families traveling with children; it's absolutely kid-friendly. A big thumbs up! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the toiletries had a delightful scent. Staff is very friendly. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. When I wasn't feeling well, they advised me on seeing a doctor and even checked on my condition the next day to see if I was improving; they were always available to answer any questions. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again if I have the chance. the location is best you can find any food all night.

The room decor is well-designed, the service is thoughtful and responsive, and the price is incredibly competitive. Its central location makes it convenient to get anywhere.
