Our stay at Cloud Villa (Yunduanjingyuan Mountain View Homestay) was, without question, one of the highlights of our trip to Zhangjiajie. My friend and I stayed for four nights, and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were treated with a level of warmth and hospitality that far exceeded our expectations. The homestay itself is absolutely stunning. Our room was beautifully designed and tastefully decorated, with breathtaking mountain views that we looked forward to waking up to each morning. Every detail of the room felt thoughtfully curated, and the luxurious bathtub was my favorite way to relax after long days of hiking and exploring Zhangjiajie’s incredible scenery. The service was exceptional from start to finish. After our late-night flight from Xi’an, we were greeted at the airport and driven to the homestay in a beautiful, comfortable car. Every morning we were treated to an incredible homemade breakfast prepared by their wonderful housekeeper. We got to personally choose our breakfast the evening before, and it would be freshly prepared each morning. It was delicious, filling, and the perfect way to fuel up before a day of exploring the national parks. What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, were the people. The homestay is run by an incredibly kind and generous owner who welcomed us not as customers, but as family. She took the time to get to know us, shared stories about her own life, and consistently went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The manager was equally outstanding. He was always ready to help with our luggage, answer our questions, and make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Since we were foreigners visiting Zhangjiajie for the first time, his assistance was invaluable. He helped us arrange tickets in advance for both Tianmen Mountain and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (the “Avatar Mountains”), and recommended optimal routes for us to take making everything incredibly smooth and stress-free. What impressed us even more was the genuine care they showed us as people. During our trip, my friend became sick, and the manager regularly checked in on her to make sure she had everything she needed to recover comfortably. Later, after I slipped and suffered a minor injury while visiting one of the parks, he showed the same sincere concern for my well-being. Their kindness never felt transactional, it was genuine. He really is quite exceptional! The owner saved the best surprise for our final day. We planned to spend the day at Tianmen Mountain before heading directly to the airport. Rather than having us store our luggage in a crowded locker facility, she generously offered to drive us to the park, keep our luggage safely in her own car throughout the day, and then take us directly to the airport afterward. That alone would have been incredibly thoughtful. But then she surprised us again! Before taking us to the airport, she prepared a wonderful homemade meal featuring fresh oysters, shrimp, eggplant, mixed vegetables, and rice! It was one of the most memorable meals of our trip, not only because it was delicious, but because it was prepared with such genuine generosity and care. We left for our flight with full stomachs and even fuller hearts. Because of the incredible hospitality we experienced at Cloud Villa, our time in Hunan became even more memorable than we could have imagined. There are many accommodations with beautiful rooms, but it is rare to find people who make you feel so genuinely welcomed and cared for. She even gave us cute parting gifts to commemorate our stay! To anyone, especially international travelers, planning a visit to Zhangjiajie, I cannot recommend Cloud Villa enough! If I ever return to the area, there is no question about where I’ll stay. I’ll gladly return not only for the beautiful accommodations, but to visit the wonderful people who made us feel like family. Thank you for making our trip truly unforgettable!

This B&B positions itself as a boutique hotel, not just a regular guesthouse. Many guests here are international tourists and discerning travelers who appreciate quality. It's no exaggeration to say this is the most thoughtful and attentive service I've ever experienced. 📍Location: 50 meters from the East Gate, 7-seater shuttle service provided The B&B is about 50 meters from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, making park access incredibly convenient. However, because it's so close to the scenic area, it's located in a restricted zone. ⚠️ You MUST use Didi (ride-hailing app) to get directly to the B&B's doorstep. Plus, the hotel offers a 7-seater shuttle service, so transportation is a breeze for families. It's also easy to find restaurants after leaving the park, as the area around the East Gate is full of eateries. 🛏️Bathtub King Room: Refined Down to the Details We stayed in a bathtub king room. The room isn't huge but is exquisite in every detail. The bedding is comfortable, and a relaxing soak in the tub at night washes away all the day's fatigue. If you need anything, just scan the QR code by the bed, and it'll be delivered in minutes – a godsend for busy parents! 👶Parents with Kids Rejoice! All These are Free! Forgot kids' toothbrushes, slippers, or shower gel? The B&B has it all; just ask the front desk, and they'll bring it to your room. There's also a 5 sqm kids' play area with a slide, building blocks, and a small rocking horse. Manxin was the third boutique hotel I chose for my trip to Hunan. It's located in a village nestled in the mountains. The owner leased nearly a hundred acres of land to create the idyllic farm he envisioned. Several two-story buildings are artfully scattered amidst rice paddies and lotus ponds. An infinity pool offers unparalleled views of the distant mountains. The rice seedlings have just been planted, and in a few months, one can truly experience the scene described by Xin Qiji: 'A bountiful harvest is spoken of amidst the fragrance of rice flowers, as the croaking of frogs fills the air.' **Environment:** The hotel's environment is exceptional. Surrounded by distant mountains, perched on a gentle slope, every room offers expansive views of lush greenery. The rice fields are close by, and at night, the sound of frogs fills the air. Each room boasts a large balcony. Sitting there, breathing in the fresh mountain air, sipping a cup of tea or coffee, time seems to slow down. **Hygiene:** The hotel's hygiene is top-notch. Despite being surrounded by farmland, there are surprisingly no mosquitoes or other insects in the rooms, which is quite rare. **Facilities:** As a meticulously crafted guesthouse, it offers all the amenities of a high-end hotel, especially the infinity pool with its unbeatable mountain views – truly an inspired touch. Of course, as a 'wild luxury' (my own definition) hotel, to encourage guests to truly reconnect with nature, the rooms intentionally lack televisions. This thoughtful decision is commendable! **Service:** Being far from the city, service is particularly important for guests. The hotel provides dedicated butlers who promptly address guests' questions and requests. Their efficiency is high, usually responding to guests almost immediately. The hotel offers complimentary airport/train station transfers, as well as unlimited complimentary transfers to the Zimu Pass (middle gate) of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, which is incredibly helpful for guests. **In summary:** This is a uniquely positioned hotel. For travelers who love nature, appreciate peace and a slower pace, and have high standards for hotel quality, this hotel is definitely worth a short stay. **Final Suggestion:** Given its rural location, its own farmland, and the fact that it raises poultry and bees, the hotel should further leverage its unique advantages in terms of ingredients and cuisine. It could also appropriately guide local farmers to cultivate organic vegetables, fruits, and various eco-friendly produce, making a beneficial contribution to rural revitalization. I believe some guests would appreciate this.

We really enjoyed our stay at Foggy Valley. It’s a peaceful, quiet retreat with beautiful traditional Chinese architecture, and the free laundry service was a lifesaver after the airline misplaced our luggage. My only suggestion would be to freshen up the exterior of the buildings that aren’t used as guest rooms, so the entire complex feels as charming as the main areas.

A very unique and memorable stay in Zhangjiajie! We stayed 2 nights in the Morning Glow King Suite Bedroom. The highlight of this homestay is its cave concept. The reception area is huge, impressive, and beautifully designed, creating a real wow factor upon arrival. The property also features a cave restaurant where breakfast is served, and dinner can be arranged with advance booking. There is also a cosy cave lounge for guests to relax. Our room was large, comfortable, and very clean. The facilities were well maintained and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Location is excellent. The homestay is hidden behind the famous theatre performance venue but only a short walk to the main street, making it convenient while remaining quiet. Highly recommended for travellers looking for a unique accommodation experience in Zhangjiajie. The cave setting alone makes it worth staying here.

The location of this guesthouse is truly hard to beat—right next to the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, making getting around super convenient. Unlike many properties tucked deep in the mountains, this place offers the best of both worlds: you get to enjoy the tranquility of nature without being cut off from transport. The ambiance here is so therapeutic. You don't even need to step outside; just sitting in the courtyard or your room gives you panoramic views of the mountains in the distance. The overall design is very tasteful, and you can really tell the owner puts genuine heart into running it. They provide a full pick-up and drop-off service, so whether you're heading to the scenic area or the station, you don't have to worry about hailing a cab, which saves so much hassle. Staying here, you can truly unwind after a day of hiking and fully immerse yourself in the stunning landscape of Zhangjiajie. Highly recommended!

Cool property! It’s an old building, so insulation is not existing, so keeping the climate nice it’s a bit of a balance. But the stay is absolutely unique and the location could not be better. Yes, you don’t have a direct view on the waterfall, but you don’t need that when you are in this town. You get it from all the restaurants and from the walking around. The view from this hotel is also absolutely fantastic, to the bridge and to the village. The rooms are spacious and the staff is very nice. We will come back.

Location: Just over a kilometer from the East Gate of the Forest Park, a three to four-minute taxi ride away. Room Facilities: Newly renovated with smart facilities throughout. There's a robot that can deliver meals, and the TV supports screen mirroring. The only minor flaw I could find was a slight creaking sound when opening the room door; otherwise, everything was absolutely perfect. Service Attitude: Everyone I met at this hotel was incredibly friendly! Upon arrival, the front desk lady explained how to best explore the Forest Park. In the evening, I mentioned to one of the hotel staff that I wanted to try berry tea, and without hesitation, he boiled water and made a cup for each of us. The auntie making wontons at breakfast even made me four specially, saying it symbolized prosperity. We booked a shuttle to Zhangjiajie West Station, and the driver arrived punctually and waited downstairs; he was very polite, and the business car was very comfortable. Hotel Features: What I loved most about this hotel was its rooftop sky garden. The garden houses over a dozen Ragdoll cats, which are incredibly cute and friendly. I made sure to pet them every day, and they were what I missed most when leaving. Overall, I absolutely loved it and would definitely come back given the chance!

The best hotel we had on a 30 days trip through China starting in Chongquing to Shenzhen. This was THE ONLY staff speaking English fluently. Especially the super friendly girl doing the reception. She is the soul of this hotel. She managed everything people needed and was always smiling and really cute. The room are huge, the bathroom as well. It’s excellent clean and super cozy. They offer 2 washing machines, 2 tumble dryers and laundry detergent for free 👏👏 great. Best breakfast we ever had in China for both Chinese and foreign guest. Definitely world class premises- the only one in 30 days roadtrip. Free parking spaces and a very well equipped supermarket right in from the reception 👌 only negative thing is the woman sitting right in front of the hotel, screaming 10 times „hello“ at the guest and trying to sell her raw pumpkins. Not once, not twice- but everytime a guest shows up. I mean-what should a hotel guest do with a raw pumpkin??? I won’t start a barbecue in my room 🤦🏼♀️ she is extremely stupid and extremely annoying. If the hotel could manage to remove her from that place, that would be nothing negative to mention. Thank you guys for making our stay really remarkable. 🙏🏻❤️
