Excellent stay. The hotel is ideally located if arriving by train. We arrived in the morning and were pleasantly surprised that we were able to check in early as our room was ready. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a roomy walk in shower. The only thing that would have improved it would have been some drawer space as it only has hanging space in the wardrobe. All the staff were helpfull and friendly. We had an evening meal and breakfast during our stay and both were excellent. We also made use of the leisure facilties during our stay. Overall would highly recommend and if we visit York again would definitely stay at The Milner.
My wife and I stayed for a couple of nights. Checking in felt more tedious than it needed to be and our keys stopped working half way through the stay. We had a nice room with a comfortable bed and it was serviced, which isn't guaranteed these days. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. The staff were attentive and helpful. I'd stay there again.
Lovely welcome at reception. Really helpful with parking.
The room was large, lovely and warm and had every thing we needed.
The most beautiful setting for breakfast again with friendly and helpful staff. Loved the decorated Christmas trees.
The hotel was in an ideal location for Bettys and the shops.
Fantastic stay at The Grand. We had booked a suite but it was not one of the modernised rooms like we had hoped for. We went to reception and was greeted by India who kindly gave us options of 2 other rooms to move to and let us view both before choosing. The room we picked was fantastic, so modern, comfortable and even had kitchen facilities which was an added bonus. It was lovely to sleep in such a comfortable bed and not be disturbed by any street noise or noise from other guests. We went out for dinner and was surprised to come back to see we’d had a turn down service and little chocolates left on the pillows. Just little touches like this make you want to return and recommend to others. We would definitely stay here again, the service from all staff, but especially India, was fantastic!
Cleanliness and tidiness impressed me most. The reception service is brilliant and staff are always with smiling faces. I will suggest to my friends and family to stay in Holiday Inn York whenever they visit York.
A very convenient location located within the city centre of York. There are numerous bus stops just located within 3 mins of walking making it very easy to travel to rail station or designer outlet. Moreover, there are numerous groceries such as saintsbury, Tesco and M&S foods. 10mins walk to York minister. It comes with complementary breakfast as well and it has many varieties and delicious. From the room you can overlook the Clifford castle as well.
The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring sights of Harrogate everything very nearby!
From checking in and our room available early with welcome cookies which were warm and amazing to checkout the staff could not be more helpful!
The room was on the third floor clean, tidy and well presented.
The gym and spa facilities were all good and nice to use and relax especially on a Sunday evening!
The breakfast was buffet with a selection of hot and cold options the parcel machine was my favourite fresh pancakes which were delicious!
This hotel is huge but it's well maintained clean tidy and such an enjoyable experience for our anniversary!
This exquisite hotel provides exceptional value for your money and is ideally located for immersing yourself in the local attractions! The surroundings are absolutely breathtaking, making it a perfect base for your adventures. Whether you're looking to explore charming nearby villages or enjoy scenic views, this hotel offers a beautiful haven to return to after a day of discovery.
Arrived after a 4 hour delay on our train, when we told desk staff they where very helpful even gave us a complementary drink. All areas we used where very clean.
We had a low level Queen room i thought it was a bit small and basic for the price we paid (£180) 2chairs desk big tv and bed. No view except the wall of the street.I was awake from 6am as room was under dining area and I think kitchen could hear banging and chairs scraping the floor.
We where both very disappointed with breakfast..
The full English just wasn't! Scrambled egg, sausage bacon grilled tomato and hash brown and beans poor quality products and hash browns and tomes had run out a waite was over 5mins with rest of food going cold on plate. So did with out. Cold meat and cheese !!! Processed ham and cheese tasteless...what happend to local products?
Staff where lovely at all times and located close to station
The location is good for the people who will take train in early morning. I would say it is a satisfied place to live, with a huge common area.
Bardzo dobry

NNadlouStayed a few times at the Grand Hotel Scarborough, it is situated within a few minutes walk to the town for the shops and eateries also a 5 min walk from the train station.
The seafront, beach, arcades etc is either a tram ride away, a walk down steps or a stroll down through the town.
Our room was a double, but was 2 singles beds pushed together, the mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable, only one pillow each, we could've requested more from reception but normally these are usually found in wardrobe or on shelving in other hotels.
The view was OK overlooking the carpark to the front.
There was a small fridge which was on the floor by the dresser, very odd not on a surface like on drawers. A hairdryer, flat screen tv with no ITV, ironing board, kettle, cups coffee tea, bath towels etc were provided .
The Bathroom was a bit odd with the shower screen attached past the safety grab rail so water splashed onto the floor, the toilet was also slanted towards the bath.
Room was warm enough, a fan was in the wardrobe as no aircon but didnt use it, we had frequent visits from the local seagulls on our windowsill.
This hotel is OK, it's very dated with brown furnishings and the rooms/ skirting boards need a deep clean and refreshing.
Cannot comment on food, entertainment or bar as we didn't partake in these.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location and ambiance are great! The check-in experience was decent, but a larger room might have been more comfortable. The mattress was super comfy, ensuring a good night's sleep!
GGuest UserPerfect location for a sightseeing trip to York, with car parking. The hotel was gorgeous, beautiful room (we had blenheim suite), huge copper bath in the bedroom (bring your own bubble bath!), super comfy bed, beautifully decorated room. Reception staff lovely and very knowledgeable of local area. Lovely bar too with friendly staff, a range of boardgames available which was fun. Breakfast room had a great Churchill theme ( brilliant top/bowler hat lighting). Would definitely recommend. Thank you for a really lovely stay.
TTuya22We had a small issue with the twin bed upon arrival, but the front desk staff resolved it quickly and was very kind. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The sea view during breakfast was beautiful and made the morning especially enjoyable.
BBev RussellReally nice place , brilliant value, clean rooms with nice bathroom products all the staff really pleasant helga on reception was lovely and the spa was a bonus with free towels and padlocks at the spa reception paid a lot more for a lot less great parking for £6 def use them again rooms are really well appointed , safe, iron hairdryer good amount of teas coffees and milk only minus is it could use a fridge
NNilpThe hotel stay was really peaceful and quiet, very clean and spacious big room and space. The food was delicious and the waiters were so helpful and friendly. The staff helped us and gave a free chocolate box for my friend's birthday party.
GGuest UserCheck in was easy and the front desk, restaurant, and bar staff were great. The menu at the restaurant is very limited...not many healthy choices and very few starters for those who would just like small bites. There needs to be more restaurant and bar staff ! one person serving the bar and restaurant ? Not fair to staff or your guests. When we were there we were not told the restaurant was closing early because of a large tour group so my friend who joined us later was unable to order anything. The room was also quite dark so I would suggest adding more lighting. That being said, good location and clean!
GGuest UserExcellent location to everything, breakfast was just ok 😣 our bed was terrible, we reported it ,my husband keep thinking he was going to fall ,not sure if it was a broken base of the stuffing had gone in the mattress , he slept on the floor at one point 😡
PPaulHBWe had an excellent stay at Mercure York Fairfield Hall. Without exception the staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful whilst at the same time understated. The breakfast represented excellent value with good choice and nicely prepared and presented. We had the opportunity to upgrade our room which we did, having the Honeymoon Suite as a consequence made our stay very pleasurable and comfortable. Accommodation is good but the decor in places a bit tired. Location wise it is excellent being a short distance from the Park and Ride which makes getting into York so easy and cheap.
Our only gripe is that there is nog a EV charge point in site though there are sondd ed at the nearby retail park.
All in all an excellent place to stay for a trip to York. We would be happy to return.
Thank you.
GGuest UserBooked to attend an exam nearby (5 min walk). Room nice and big, had everything we needed. Check in check out quick and easy, parking £8 for 24 hours. I asked for a quiet room but definitely was not quiet there was a private function going on with very loud music which didn’t with being prepared and well rested for an early morning exam on Saturday.
