Pros:
1. Room and toilet is clean. Bed and pillows are so comfortable. Room is quite big and can fully open 2 medium luggages. Amenities is also provided but require to take from the lobby which I feel is good. There are also Nespresso machine with capsule provided in the room.
2. Located 5 mins walk from Toyama Station. If require to rent car, Toyota Car Renting is located directly opposite of the hotel. Tram, shinkansen, JR train and Dentetsu train are convenient to take.
3. As is nearby the main station, has lots of restaurants/eateries, convenience mart and mall surrounding. However, do note that most of the shops close as early as 8pm nearby.
4. Soundproof was actually good to my surprise despite located along the road.
5. I had opted to walked to Kansui Park which is actually approx. 10 mins depending on your walking speed. The view and scenery overseeing the alps was so good.
6. It was raining during our stay, we were able to borrow umbrella and shoes dryer.
Cons:
1. Nearby shop closes too early. Not sure if is because of off peak season.
2. Hardly any cons I could think of.
Overall, I recommend this hotel. Great location, service, easily to get food and accessible to transport. Not sure if is off peak season but it was definitely lesser crowd and traffic during my stay at the end of November. It is definitely great time to visit this time if wanted a relaxing trip.
Beautiful hotel (about 7 min walk to the station) and was a great Ryokan experience as the room was traditional and had a breath-taking view. Futons were sufficiently comfortable - but wished there was the whole Ryokan welcome and fanfare.
Staff was welcoming but did not speak much English though they had papers of English instructions all ready. There was a free shuttle out of the hotel at fixed timings to the nearest Shinkansen (Unazukionsen Station)
Onsen was relaxing and was supplied with good quality products for every aspect of grooming. Lots of vending machines were available, there was a souvenir shop on site though pricey. We just did not enjoy the corridors as it gave out a creepy vibe (due to it being an older establishment), hence, we did not enjoy moving around the hotel). Facilities were beautiful and well preserved.
Food as part of the experience was a good and large helping. We opted for the full seafood experience but it had a lot of sashimi or cured seafood which was not to our own liking (we did not really know what we signed up for, really our fault!) Breakfast was a good spread and really hearty. A lot of traditional and local specialties to experience!
Overall a great stay!
(Shops in the vicinity closes at about 5pm and open at 10am)
About 8 mins walk from Toyama Station, which is close enough if you don’t have too much luggage. But in the full summer heat it can be quite difficult.
The hotel is slightly dated but very clean. Laundry and dryer are on the 5th floor. You need your own laundry detergent. Lawson conbini is right across the road so it is easy to get snacks and essentials.
Room is clean and sized well for what you pay for.
My stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Toyama was excellent from start to finish. The hotel is modern, stylish, and very well maintained. Its location is extremely convenient, only a few minutes’ walk from Toyama Station, which made traveling around the city and nearby areas very easy.
The room was thoughtfully designed, clean, and comfortable. Despite being in the city center, it was quiet at night and I had a very good rest. The bed and pillows were especially comfortable after a long day of traveling.
The service was also outstanding. The staff were polite, welcoming, and professional throughout my stay. Check-in was smooth, and the signature warm DoubleTree cookie on arrival was a lovely touch that made the experience even more memorable.
Overall, this is a great hotel choice in Toyama. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
Large room size with lots of spaces even for triple room. Hotel itself is pretty old style interior (shiny wooden). Carpet is a bit old. Location is next to Toyama castle and 2kms from Kansui park at the river. Good for a morning run.
Staff at reception area and lobby drop off are very friendly and helpful. The car park is a building away from main entrance.

Amazing
GGuest UserLocation is great! Near shopping centres and train station. Drive to Kanazawa and Tateyama is easy too. Car park needs to be booked in advance (need to pay, ¥1000 a night if I don't recall wrongly).
Cleanliness is great. Aisle abit narrow for luggage to open.
Smoking room in the hotel itself, easy for smokers.
Nice tasting Kurobe water provided at the room level. Great touch there!
Enjoyed our stay, thank you!
GGuest UserDue to a booking error made by the agent, my check-in experience was terrible. I spent the entire night communicating with Ctrip (the booking platform), and while it was eventually resolved, I was still disappointed that I didn't get the room I wanted. The hotel is right next to Toyama Castle, and you might get lucky and see the Tateyama Mountain Range from the side. There's a convenience store and a tram station across the street, which is generally good. However, the room itself was very basic, and the service wasn't particularly warm. Overall, the experience was just average. A small surprise was the mochi pounding and sake offering on New Year's Day morning.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Toyama Station, which is quite convenient. The facilities seem a bit old, especially the mattress in the room, which was too soft – probably due to age. They offer free coffee and drinks. Breakfast is served on the top floor with a great ambiance and a good variety of dishes. The hotel price is affordable, so overall, it's excellent value for money.
YYoulaiyouqudefeiyuThe room was old and the mattress wasn't very comfortable. The hot and cold water taps were separate; the cold water was freezing cold, and the hot water was scalding hot. I didn't understand how to mix the hot and cold water.
The hotel has a hot spring with views of Tateyama, but the front desk said it wasn't a real hot spring.
The food was okay; the beef was quite good, with a milky flavor. The hotel's location is excellent, just above the Murodo bus stop, very convenient. The biggest advantage of staying at this hotel is that after all the day tour tourists have left, the hotel provides guided tours to see the snow walls, and in the evening, there are also instructors explaining Tateyama's history and stargazing. The next morning, there's also a guided tour to see the ptarmigan. However, overall, it's not good value for money.
SSPNice Japanese breakfast. Strategic location to get around Gokayama and Shirakawa. In front of the hotel is the biggest Gassho style house in Japan that has a long history of being owned by samurais and where the emporia family had visited many times and is considered a cultural heritage of Japan.. I would go back to this hotel because of its location.
GGuest UserThe hotel is a 10-minute walk from Unazuki Station. Since there was a heavy storm that day,
It was raining, so it was a bit awkward dragging my suitcase to the hotel. It was just renovated in 2023. There is a little smell in the room and the hot spring is very good! I paid extra to book a private bath. The water quality is so comfortable! The accommodation included dinner and breakfast the next day. The dinner was delicious. A male waiter could speak simple Chinese and had been to Shanghai. Basic communication was no problem. Breakfast the next day was still delicious. This hot spring area is relatively unpopular and there are not many online introductions, but it can avoid the crowds.
GGuest UserFamily three Christmas trip, convenient hotel location, convenient parking, service, hardware, breakfast, etc. all meet the expected Japanese standards, will recommend friends, will stay next time. In addition, the quality of the salmon cuisine is very high, the service is very good 👍
HHO CHINGVery good hotel and the staff are very kind and helpful. It may mainly target local customers, so the general foreign language skills are not very good.
VvatitiThe hotel is unforgettable. One berth and two food choices should be the most common set meal, but it is still amazing. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, enjoy the breakfast in the courtyard snow scene, regardless of the tip of the tongue or the eyes, you have the ultimate enjoyment. Bibimbap snacks for breakfast have a variety of tricks, and Toyama famous things are worth trying. The exquisite presentation makes people unable to bear to eat, everything is ingenious. We did not book a private soup, because the scenery of the public soup is more beautiful! There are very few guests staying, and the hot spring in the snow is worth a try! As a paradise-like existence, you must accept the store's limited English output. Remember to bring your mobile phone translation software. Everything is not a problem. The store will be very active to help solve the problem! If you come to Zhuangchuanxia cruise ship, don't miss this hotel~
