The shower kept changing temperature, sign of a bad water heater, and had sewage smell coming from the drainage. On our first night, the light switch in the bathroom started smoking and doing sparks everywhere - if we hadn't been there to call the reception right away, it would have been a severe fire hazard. The location is quite good as it is right on the lake, and Is a nice walk in the morning. The cleaners woke us up at 6.30 AM because they were slamming doors and screaming. „I stayed at Hotel Sigiriya for two nights, and overall, my experience was quite good. The service was proactive, the room was clean with no insects, and it was very quiet at night, which made for a peaceful sleep. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, though I personally found some of them a bit too salty. The real highlight of Hotel Sigiriya is its location, offering direct views of Sigiriya Rock. „Nice hotel with a great view over the river. Some of the furniture in the rooms are a bit dated and could do with some DIY. The room lighting could be improved and the odour inside the washroom should be better managed. Beds were comfy, rooms were very spacious and the facilities in the hotel were good. Food was tasty and had a wide variety.”
