„It's a beautiful resort. Not the most easily accessible but they provide free shuttle bus from Inawashiro train station, at certain timing.
The front desk staffs are helpful and friendly. And the hotel proximity is all clean.
Down side is that my room was located further end of the corridor (due to the long stretch design of the resort), I have to walk very far from the lift to reach my room. And the room's air-conditioner doesn't seem to work very well, which is very hot during summer. I was told it's centralized and can't be changed. Facilities in the room/resort also seem to be quite old.
But otherwise great environment”

„I am quite impressed with this hotel and almost try to reserve another one from the same hotel grouo. First, the room is not big but it is decided to use the space efficiently, e.g. standing shower instead of bath tub. large TV attached to the wall (which is a smart TV!), simple chair and can be placed below the desk. And in terms of facilities, there is a small bookshelf of comic books, massage chair ( with no cost ) in the relaxation room. The public bath has mid side hot tube, a sauna and cold bath. And for breakfast, there are good variety of choice and the area is large and comfortable. I think it is a result for thoughtful design and good use of space (again!). The only downside would be the lobby is located at the 3rd floor and the entry is facing a sidewalk, which can be confusing to find.”

„I was a bit worried after seeing some of the older reviews, but apparently, the operating company changed in May this year. My impression after staying there was that it felt like a relaxed, ordinary business hotel where you could have some privacy, especially when compared to the newer hotels in Futaba. Regarding my concerns about cleanliness and odors, I had no complaints; the hotel was generally clean. As for sightseeing, there are quite a few spots in Namie that you can't cover in a single day, like the coast near Ukedo Elementary School, which still shows scars from the earthquake, or the samurai residences on the mountain side. So, as a base camp for my trip, it was quite convenient. It seems they're opening a music bar in the restaurant, as I could hear music from the speakers.”

„料理もお部屋も大変素晴らしい宿でした。
夕食・朝食ともに品数が多く、盛り付けや味も丁寧で、季節感を感じられるお料理に感動しました。
用意して頂いたお部屋もフルリノベーションされていたためとても綺麗で、温泉旅館というより高級ホテルのような清潔感があり、もしトラブルがなければとてもリラックスできたと思います。
お部屋の露天風呂は、温度調整ができるようになってからは湯質・雰囲気ともに最高で、時間を忘れて過ごせました。
また、大浴場も3種類あり、それぞれ趣の違う露天風呂が楽しめました。滝や手入れの行き届いた庭園を眺めながらの入浴は本当に贅沢で、季節ごとに訪れたくなる魅力がありました。
ただ一点、とても残念だったのは、宿泊初日にお部屋の水回りトラブルが続いたことです。水が出たり出なかったりを繰り返しており室内の露天風呂の温度が調整できず熱すぎて入れなかったり、洗面台やシャワーの水が子供が怯えるほど激しく出たり全く出なかったりと、安定しない状態でした。
さらに夜にはトイレが逆流して床と壁が濡れてしまい、せっかくの滞在中にかなり不安を感じました。
フロントの方は夜遅い時間にも関わらず工具を使って配管の調整を試みてくださり、その姿勢自体はありがたかったです。ただ、結果的に完全に解決はせず、部屋の移動などの提案もなく「様子を見てください」という形で終わってしまい、深夜に不安を抱えたまま過ごすことになりました。
翌日になってもこちらから確認するまで説明がなく、誠実なフォローが感じられなかったことも心に引っかかりました。この価格帯のお部屋でこのようなトラブルと対応は、正直これまで経験したことがなくとても驚きました。
また、もう一点とても不安に感じたのは、大浴場で母が男性客に覗かれるという出来事があったことです。
フロントに伝えたところ「外国人観光客が増えており、間違えて入ってきた可能性がある」との説明でしたが、母が見た限りでは日本人男性であり、その対応にも不信感を覚えました。
安全面での対策（見回りや案内強化など）を取っていただけたら、より安心して過ごせる旅館になると思います。
全体としては、施設や料理のクオリティは非常に高く、本来であれば最高評価をつけたいほど素晴らしい旅館でした。
だからこそ、トラブル時の対応や安全面での誠実なフォローが今後改善されることを願っています。”

GGuest UserI had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The first great point is the proximity to the Fukushima Station. When I arrived, my check-in process was handled by the Manager, Matsuda-san. He was very friendly and warm.
The room I stayed in was decently-sized, giving me enough room to walk around with a large suitcase and other bags on the floor. A suitcase stand and a small stool are provided. The beige wallpaper provided a nice contrast to the dark carpet.
The controls for the room were absolutely fantastic - I could, for instance, adjust the brightness of the main light and the strength of the bathroom exhaust fan. The bathroom was slightly cramped, but I managed. An alarm clock is also provided for guests.
The default blanket in the room was far too hot; even with the heating turned off, I felt like I was being roasted while I was in bed with the blanket covering me (and this was in winter!). I didn't like the default pillow either, it was too hard. On my last night, I requested a thinner blanket and softer pillow. Thankfully, the hotel was able to provide them, and I slept much better after using the new blanket and pillow. Funnily enough, the mattress was also quite hard, but it didn't give me any problems.
The sound insulation was fantastic, and the cleaning staff were super quiet! I almost couldn't tell that they were outside my room doing their work! I also very likely had considerate Japanese guests on my floor, hence the peace.
Nearby the hotel is S-Pal, where you can buy all sorts of prepared meals (if you're lucky, you can find a few vegan options). There's also a large pharmacy, and there are many convenience stores around.
The main complaint I have is that the check-out time @ 10:00 is too early. I think 12:00 would be a better time.
I did not have breakfast at the hotel, nor did I use any of the facilities, so I have no comment on those.
I definitely recommend Hotel Route-Inn Grand Fukushima Ekimae to others, and I will definitely consider staying at Route-Inn hotels in other parts of Japan!
Side Notes:
(1) If you have large luggage and arrive at the Fukushima Station, you'll have to take the elevator at the west exit, and when you reach the ground floor you'll see another elevator about 20 metres in front of you (slightly to the left). This second elevator will take you to the underground passage, which you can use to get to the east side of the station, where Route-Inn Grand Fukushima is located. Do note that there is a rear entrance to the hotel (next to a public parking lot), and this will save you from walking to the front of the hotel with all your luggage.
(2) Vegan options in Fukushima are unfortunately extremely limited, but you can find some vegan tofu bars and a few other items at 7-Eleven...but be sure to use Google Lens to translate the ingredients!

NNuitodayI was very impressed with my stay. The service was excellent at every point, from the valet parking staff and the front desk to the restaurant staff who provided exceptional service.
The Superior room was spacious, had a stunning view, and I especially loved that there was a massage chair in the room. The common area facilities were complete, including the onsen and foot bath. The highlight was the free ice cream before 8 pm in front of the onsen, and the seating area with a view while enjoying ice cream was fantastic.
The only minor drawback was that the bathroom in the room had a slightly unpleasant smell. I hope the hotel will check into this and improve it. If this can be fixed, it would be a perfect stay, and I would definitely return again in the future.

FFD232Overall a nice hotel, very close to the JR train station, just a couple of minutes walk away. The room size was very generous a lot bigger than others we’ve stayed at in Japan. The bathroom was also very spacious with a full size bath and powerful shower. The hotel provides nightwear and toiletries as well as coffee and laundry. Breakfast has a good variety of choices although can we quite busy as peak times and items do run out. I would recommend as a good convenient choice if travelling by train.

And in terms of facilities, there is a small bookshelf of comic books, massage chair ( with no cost ) in the relaxation room. The public bath has mid side hot tube, a sauna and cold bath. And for breakfast, there are good variety of choice and the area is large and comfortable. I think it is a result for thoughtful design and good use of space (again!). The only downside would be the lobby is located at the 3rd floor and the entry is facing a sidewalk, which can be confusing to find.

GGuest UserThis hotel is truly perfect for a relaxing getaway. The atmosphere is peaceful and the food is delicious. However, it's best to arrive after 2 PM, and you should eat lunch beforehand if you're not driving yourself, as you won't find food available during that time. The rooms are very spacious and located right by the stream. The onsen bath is beautiful, and there's an open-air room with an indescribable ambiance. There's also a large, affordable convenience store on-site. Plus, free drinks are offered from check-in time until evening.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very good with great proximity to the ski place. The room is clean and cosy with great views. And the onsen is very good that it had long opening hours, we can go after the ski to relax.
However, it would be better if the guest had a choice of whether the room can be made everyday or after we left. And it will be even better if more variety of restaurants/ cur-sine can be provided rather than just buffet.

PPhittikI checked in 10 minutes early but the room was ready to check-in.
The Staff were nice as they tried to communicate with me even though I’m not good at Japanese.
The room was nice but when I was looking for an earphone case I had dropped underneath my bed, I found out that it was a little dusty down there.
The breakfast was japanese-style which cost only 550 yen and it was delicious.
I asked them not to clean my room during my stay so they just hung a new amenity bag at the door for the second night.
I also had a chance to use the laundry and drying machines which worked fine.
The hotel is near the Iwaki station so it was easy to get the bus and the train. I really enjoyed staying there.

AAussiePaulaThis getaway was exactly what I wanted. Traditional, immersive, comfortable, accomodating.
The staff came and greeted us in the car park, the dinner and breakfast was amazing, delicious, adventurous. And the onsen on the roof was perfect!
The staff thoroughly explained their processes. I spoke some japanese and they spoke only some english but they were very accomating with us and welcoming.
I would highly recommend and its also not far from town either.
It snowed a little the night we stayed and it was so magical!
We had our own private onsen at our room but the others in the ryokan are even better and available to be private, just lock door when your using.

Amazing
SSolo Traveler HKI stayed in other city for 1 night and back to this hotel. The staff remembered me and greeted me with a warm welcome. I was immediately feeling glad. I booked the same room type. Room was still clean and comfortable. The only thing that the hotel might need to pay more attention to the sewage of the bathroom. It was not that good as some dirt came out the next day. However, it didn’t happen for my last visit. I guess it’s isolated case. I will definitely stay in this hotel if I come back to Koriyama. Highly recommended to anyone.
