Hotele z: breakfast w Toyama Prefecture, Japan

This is my second stay at a hotel from this chain, and I'm really impressed by the variety of drinks available before and after meals – it's definitely great value for money. Although this time, it's a little bit off the beaten path up in the mountains.

Great location, just 1min walk away from Toyama Station on level 5 of the Maroot building . It’s a perfect base to move around the Tateyama region. The room is on the small side but adequate and well furnished. For tourists who need the iron & ironing board, there are 2 sets per floor that you can use. This is a lifesaver. I’ve had to deal with the trousers presser only at certain hotels, much to my dismay. This was a nice change.

Extremely close to JR Station and the bus terminal, making it a great stopover. The hotel room was quite spacious, with a small sofa and even a capsule coffee machine! We could walk to Fugan Canal Park, and since it was a weekend when we visited, there were evening performances and a musical fountain at the park, which was very lively.

The hotel is conveniently located, less than a 5-minute walk from Toyama Station. While the lobby feels luxurious, the hotel itself definitely shows its age. The elevators were quite slow, and unfortunately, there were urine stains under the toilet seat in the room, indicating a need for improved cleanliness and attention to detail. The room size was decent. Although there's a convenience store nearby, you do have to cross the street to get to it. Overall, the experience was just average, but considering the cheap price I paid, the value for money was acceptable.

I had a truly memorable stay at this hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly attentive and kind throughout my visit. The overall atmosphere gave off a wonderfully authentic Japanese vibe, which made the experience even more special. One of the highlights was the delicious traditional Japanese breakfast — beautifully prepared and full of flavor. What impressed me most was how the hotel made me feel so comfortable and welcome, almost like I was staying at a relative’s home in Japan. It’s a place I would wholeheartedly recommend, and I would love to return again in the future.

Before trip, I think this hotel is located close to Toyama station but I walked from Toyama station to the hotel around 20 minutes (However, this was my own fault for not reading the hotel’s location information carefully). For this hotel, the facilities is very well and various such as public bath, electric body massage machine, vending machine. For the public bath, if you use it during the daytime, you’ll probably get a beautiful view of the Japan Alps surrounding the city. Unfortunately, I used it at night, when it was too dark to see the view.

Taking the tram directly from Toyama Station, it's just four stops away, which is super convenient as you don't have to drag your luggage around for long. The room was great. In the evenings, there are complimentary drinks, coffee, and milk available near the front desk. The Glass Art Museum and Toyama Castle are within walking distance. If you're visiting Toyama, you absolutely must go to Zuiryū-ji Temple in Takaoka and Amaharashi Coast – they are absolutely stunning!

We had a very enjoyable stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Toyama. The location is excellent and very convenient for exploring Toyama. The breakfast was a particular highlight, with a great selection of high-quality options each morning. I also appreciated the well-equipped gym, which I used twice during our stay and found perfect for keeping up with my workouts while traveling. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Overall, the combination of the convenient location, excellent breakfast, good fitness facilities, and high standard of cleanliness made for a very positive experience.

Excellent locations as it just walking distance to Toyama station for rail, tram and Shinkansen. Room is well maintained and clean and no noise at all. They have simple but good enough breakfast like all other comfort hotels in Japan. Lot of eatery and malls nearby. Tram are easy to navigate and for just 240 yen’s it brought here points to points. I will highly recommend to solo or couple traveler visiting Toyama for a short trip. For family you may want to consider JAL hotel next door only.

Location: About a 15-minute walk from Toyama Station. There's a convenience store, the Daiwa department store, and the Toyama Prefectural Library (Glass Museum) nearby. Overall, it's very convenient. Cleanliness: First, you need to take off your shoes when you enter. The entire hotel's hallways and guest rooms are covered in tatami mats, which is a dream for those who love tatami. The bathroom floor is made of bamboo strips, which feels much better than tiles. Every morning, you can see staff meticulously cleaning the common areas, which was a great experience. (They don't clean your room during extended stays, so be aware if that's an issue for you.) Facilities: There's a public hot spring with a large pool and sauna (also open to day visitors, but closed for cleaning from 10 AM to 3 PM). If you don't like public baths, you can enjoy a private soak in the small wooden tub in your room anytime, which is fantastic – it's like getting a private onsen experience at an economy price. The ice cream, yogurt, and massage chairs on the second floor are also a huge plus. Dining: Since I stayed for several days, I booked a room without breakfast. If you decide you want breakfast on any given day, you can just go to the restaurant, swipe your card, and pay when you leave (2500 JPY per adult per meal). It's highly recommended if you love fresh seafood, offering Toyama's 'three treasures' (squid, white shrimp, and tiny rolls), as well as various sashimi and roe for you to create your own seafood bowl. Even for someone like me who doesn't eat much seafood, there were plenty of options like fried dishes, bread, and refreshing watermelon. Overall, I highly recommend this chain onsen hotel.
