„Our stay at Yaoji Caotang was a truly delightful surprise. The guesthouse is located right inside the Hetou Old Street scenic area, and the room card allows for easy access in and out. Stepping out, you're immediately immersed in the old street, enjoying the evening lights and scenery – it's incredibly convenient for sightseeing, saving you the hassle of traveling back and forth. The ambiance is elegant, with a refined Chinese style, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the bustle. The room itself was clean and spacious, with comfortable bedding and meticulous attention to detail. We especially appreciated the thoughtful addition of a foot bath tub and traditional Chinese herbal foot soak packets; after exploring the old street, a relaxing foot soak instantly melted away our fatigue. The staff were warm and attentive, and the breakfast offered a rich variety of delicious options, with service that was both meticulous and heartwarming. This guesthouse is perfect for both a relaxing getaway and family trips. If you're visiting Hetou Old Street, this place comes highly recommended.”

„This hotel has both prominent pros and cons:
First, the pros:
1. Located in Hetou Old Street, it's quiet yet central, with an excellent location. You can return to your room anytime you get tired from exploring, no matter how late you stay out.
2. The hygiene is five-star standard! The housekeeping staff work incredibly hard; the entire floor is milky white, and they have to squat to wipe it clean! After eating fruit in the room, I made sure to clean up the juice myself.
3. A variety of free snacks, fruits, and beverages are provided with great sincerity and high quality, not just for show.
Now, the clear cons:
1. The hotel's room types are very confusing. The same company has rooms spread across different guesthouses, and there's a big difference in room size and amenities. Guests from the宿集 (Suju) cannot use their key cards to enter and exit the scenic area, even though they check in at the same front desk and eat breakfast in the same area. This is very inconvenient. The welcome fruits were also just brought over in a paper bag.
2. The entire hotel has almost no accessibility for people with disabilities. My elderly parents and children booked a twin room, but it turned out to be far from the main building and had no elevator. My parents have mobility issues, and it was raining those two days, which made it extremely inconvenient.
3. Since there's no restaurant, breakfast is served by portion. Although the dishes are plentiful, half of them are cold by the time they reach the table, which significantly reduces their taste.
4. The soundproofing in the room is poor. I heard a machine humming very early, and only on the second day did I realize there was a laundry room next door. Footsteps outside the door sounded as clear as if they were inside the room, which was quite startling!
Based on my actual experience, it was a mixed bag. I hope Hetou Old Street thrives and the hotel continues to improve!”

„Hotel man is great, he speaks very good English and is super friendly and kind. Transportation by car was arranged to and from the train station as well as for heading up the hill at 6am to the Jinshanling great wall park entrance to catch sunrise from the Great Wall at the top. It is possible to just walk up to the gate instead, it just takes longer to walk the 2 km to the ticket checking gate, and there is then still some maybe 15 mins of walking uphill before getting to the top. Photos show the view from my room, the menu of the hotel restaurant, dinner (尖椒豆片炒肉), and breakfast (fried rice and soup).”

„I originally wanted to book a triple room for my family trip, but they were all sold out. I almost chose a big hotel across the river, but I really love this place, so I picked this room type, thinking we'd just squeeze in, haha. Turns out it wasn't cramped at all, it was very spacious! It had two sofas (a chaise lounge and a living room sofa), plus a bay window. In the evening, there were romantic projection lights in the courtyard. The hotel's service was as excellent as ever. Before we arrived, the front desk helped reserve a parking space, and when we got there, they helped us with our luggage. The breakfast was fantastic and very filling, and they also offered free coffee, tea, snacks, and fruit all day. They even gave us Qianxi chestnuts with breakfast! This time, the room also had discount coupons for the scenic area, and on Valentine's Day, the hotel gave us a gift. Tom even secretly wrote a romantic blessing on the back of the daily fruit platter description card (handwritten!). So many thoughtful details! This hotel is very clean, beautiful, tidy, and quiet. Although it's connected to a rest hall in the scenic area where tourists come to relax, eat, drink, shop, and enjoy the warmth, and there are many kids playing, once you swipe your room card to enter the hotel's guest room area, it immediately becomes incredibly quiet. You can truly relax and rest after a tiring day of playing.
I stayed here three months ago, and there's been an updated upgrade to a small detail. The hotel truly puts a lot of effort into every detail (providing free daily necessities, ample water, high-end drinks, snacks, fruit, and meeting various customer needs). The staff are all polite, enthusiastic, and professional (every staff member in the hallway greets you warmly, and if you have any questions, they appear promptly to help you solve them quickly). You can lie in your room and use voice commands for Xiaodu (smart assistant) to operate things for you. The toiletries are high-quality, very complete, and smell great. The shower water is very hot, strong, and comes quickly (they even added anti-slip covers to the faucet handles in the sink, every small change is so touching!). The room is very warm in winter (turn up the heat before bed, then turn it down or off during the day). This time, the scenic area opened at 11 AM, and our room wasn't ready for check-in yet, so the front desk gave us temporary access cards. We didn't have to go find somewhere else to play; we could just enter Hetou Old Street directly, and they would call us when the room was ready.
Over the past few months, the scenic area has also expanded, adding many facilities and activities. The areas with the most interactive experiences and opportunities to exchange 'silver tickets' are near the hotel entrance. My family and children all love it here; we had a very comfortable and satisfying stay. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area.”

The compound and apartment are both very nice. Check-in was not difficult for us but only because we used WeChat and spoke Mandarin. Amenities were sufficient, though the kitchen lacked a microwave. The kitchen initially also lacked cooking supplies but our host provided them upon our request. The host is very responsive on WeChat. The compound has a playground and a few shops, and there are plenty of small restaurants just outside the compound. The location of the compound is right across the Chaobai river from Beijing, very close to one of the three bridges in the area. Crossing the bridge into Beijing by car requires passing a border check station which is slightly inconvenient as a foreigner since you will likely be required to go into the station to register every time. However, after the first crossing, subsequent crossings were very fast for us (1-2min processing time) and our rideshare drivers waited for us with no problems. Most of the time, the compound is ~20-25min by car to LuCheng subway station in Beijing, which is currently the closest subway station to the compound. However, during the morning rush hour on workdays, the border check station going into Beijing will have traffic jams up to 30+min. A rideshare (DiDi or Hello Ride) to/from LuCheng subway station costs around 20-30CNY each way. There are also public buses that go directly to/from LuCheng subway station but they only run during rush hour, and passengers still have to get off at the border check station for processing. This border check station is currently a big inconvenience, but current road and subway constructions in the area may alleviate this inconvenience in the near future.
Currently, it is difficult to find short term apartment rentals that accept foreigners in/near Beijing, so this stay was great value for money, despite us having paid ~2-3x the cost of rent for locals, it was still priced below tiny rooms in most Beijing hotels.

Facilities are sufficient for our type of travel; that are trekking and Great Wall viewing. Location is excellent with easy access to different parts of the of the Great Wall. Breakfast and dinner were at the stay and the simple local cuisine of good food suited our taste buds .. Topping all is the extra mile service by the owner 崔老版 and his family. We had a beautiful and memorable time here

A satisfactory stay! The location of Building 7 in Phase 1 is particularly good. It is close to the entrance and exit of the garage and is also very close to the check-in place of the homestay. The room size is right. The bath towels, towels and sheets in the room are very new and clean. The quality of toiletries is good, especially the toothbrush is particularly easy to use. The hygiene of the bathroom is also quite satisfactory. There is no smell in the whole room. The room has shower slippers, detergent, laundry detergent, umbrellas, mosquito repellent and other items. The wife password is on the room card. Toilet paper towels and living room paper are available. Four bath towels and towels are enough. There are four drinking cups and mouthwash cups. Refrigerators and washing machines are available. Drying racks are also prepared. There is a kettle in the kitchen, no microwave. The stove is not available. Butler service is very good. The housekeeper will contact you in advance to inform you of the precautions and traffic guidelines. Dissatisfied is the matter of Anaya's 3 pm check-in at 11 am. In fact, the overlord clause, the general hotel should check in at 2 pm and check out at 12 pm! But we hardly waited long to get the room card at 1:30 pm. The homestays do not include breakfast, and there will be anaya identity code after check-in. With this code, you can dine in the first canteen and the mountain canteen. These two restaurants are the cheapest restaurants in the entire park. Other restaurants are expensive. The first phase of the homestay is very close to the first canteen. It took a few minutes to walk. The alarm rang once during the stay was quite scary. We went out for about 2 hours. During the period, the air conditioner was completely closed. The window was opened, and the fog may have triggered the alarm. Wuling Mountain Anaya is worth experiencing. The first phase of the homestay is very convenient.

PauOHanlonI believe my friends and I spent Christmas eve here. Being an exchange student from England, far from home, and my friends and classmates from Latvia and Cambodia, we needed somewhere homely and comfortable to stay. This place was exactly what we needed.
We stayed here for one night in the middle of winter as part of our road trip from Beijing to Wutaishan, following the sections of the Great Wall. We turned up after dark, we were welcomed with a big smile and slept with ease after the long drive.
In the morning I woke up early, found a spot in the courtyard garden and opened my Christmass cards. The owners dog immediately rolled over to be petted and for the next hour I had good company, drank tea and enjoyed the peace.
The owners awoke to find me outside, probably thought I was a ****** and so, immediately lit their fire in the garden. They saw me drinking tea so got the iron kettle boiling over the heat of the flames. My mates awoke to this and joined me and the boss by the fire. The outside temperature was negative, but we were warm, happy and ready for the day ahead - exploring Baishishan. The boss also showed us his great tea collection.
I want to thank the owners for a short but great stay and I highly recommend. I would like to come back in spring to see their courtyard in full bloom.

Location: this is a one-minute walk from the Middle Gate / entrance to the Jinshanling Great Wall (the best location for an early start as the gate opens as early as 4-5am) and has great value for money compared to other farmstays or hotels with this proximity to the entrance.
Cleaniness: spacious and clean room with all the necessary amenities, though most are single-use so bring your own if you would like to be environmentally-conscious. The bathroom also had only a half-door so there was a chance that water from the showerhead may spill out a bit.
Service: the host was super friendly and knowledgeable. Ms. Li is able to tell you about the best hiking paths, hiking time, and ways to get around / get back. She can also help you arrnage transport to nearby Gubei Watertown or tell you how to get back to city centre Beijing if you ask. As all farmstays do they have their own restaurant that can cook just about any typical home-cooked meals (and they are flexible with portions and pricing, depending on the size of your group). There is a small shop area at reception if you need some last-minute supplies for the Great Wall (food and drinks mostly).
100% recommended for those who wish to get an early start to the Great Wall with a decent night's sleep and some comfort meals.

The room was clean, and the homemade fried dough sticks and steamed buns for breakfast were delicious! 😋 The owners and their family were so warm and helpful. When we called from the visitor center, the owner came to pick us up. And when we checked out, since the owners weren't home, the owner's mother even drove us back to the visitor center on her electric tricycle! 🤣 We'll definitely stay here again next time.

YuxinxiangbanI came here for the 2026 Jinshanling Great Wall Ultra Marathon. This hotel is definitely the best and only choice for participants due to its super close proximity to the starting line. Although it's an economy hotel, it truly exceeded my expectations (referring specifically to the new building; I haven't stayed in the old one so I can't comment). The owner is incredibly kind and generous. After the race, my checkout time had passed, but they specially found a room for me to take a shower, which was a huge blessing for someone returning from a mountain run. The food at the guesthouse was also good and very convenient. This will definitely be my top choice for any future visits to Jinshanling Great Wall.

Guest UserThis was our first time visiting Aranya, and we chose this family-friendly vacation rental. Overall, we had a great stay.
The host was very kind, and the property manager was responsive and helpful. We stayed in Phase 6, which has a great location—just a short walk to the beach. The room even included beach toys for the kids, which they loved. It was also very close to the bike rental area and plenty of restaurants, making everything very convenient.
Since we arrived late on our first night, we noticed the bed sheets needed a little more attention, We contacted the host and property manager, and they quickly arranged for housekeeping to take care of it early next day. We really appreciated their prompt response. Hopefully, the Aranya housekeeping team can be a bit more careful in the future.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again.

Value for money accomodation. Very clean by a singaporean's standard
Location is directly opposite the fulong four season town物业服务中心 canteen, open for breakfast lunch and dinner, if you are too tired to head to chongli town after a full day of skiing. Boss lent me his card so i could get discount at the canteen. The location is ideal, a few stops by internal shuttle bus to fulong ski resort, shuttle bus stop is just downstairs. And it takes bout 10 mins to walk to chongli town where there is plenty of restaurants and ski equipment rental. I rented my entire set of ski equipment from the boss' shop, he gave me a good discount as i was staying for a long period. It is the cheapest rental i saw in the whole chongli town. And his ski equipment are newly purchased from french brand rossignol and very clean.
Other than that, boss also offered two way transport to chongli railway station and helped with booking of ski tickets, ski instructor etc. He even recommended a good sports massage place to me after i had sore muscles from skiing! Basically, you just need to book accomodation thru boss and he handles the rest for a stress-free ski holiday!

We were scared of large crowds at the wall, and followimg many online recommendation we found the Jinshanling section.
This hotel is at the great location a short walk from the mid enterance to the wall section, the Gubeikou train station is also very reachable from the Beijingbei (North) train station. It is also quite affordable to reach the place by Didi (550 yuan from the Beijing airport).
The place is clean, and the food really stands out as quite amazing, the prices are also very low, for room and food. Just tell the owner you would want a breakfast and you will be served one first thing in the morning. The ladies are also super nice and very hospitable to the foreign turists.
