i saw many positive reviews and was excited to see if it was reality... Simply put, its worth visiting Luoyang just to stay at May Fourth Youth Hostel. The level of cleanliness, amicability, overall positive yet low-key ambience should be the standard across the country. From the music choice in the lobby to the staff who run it, It's clear it has been designed and is run by people who really understand what it means to be a traveller and what makes a good hotel. The rooms are spacious (sometimes hostels can feel claustophobic - but not here), with beds having more space than typical, good quality pillow and duvets. Suited for both travellers from the east and west, there are seated and squat toilets, with a large array of showers. The washing machine is great (if they had a couple of good Dryers too that would be amazing), as well as the communal rooms with vending machines, pool table, and seating area (including the lovely quiet library space) The location is decent too, a spacious cultural park is nearby with the hostel itself tucked away from the main street, creating convinience but not crowds. The price is perfect! ideal for young people, students and solo travellers visiting on a budget. My friend decided to stay here two more days just because of the comfort and facilities. As both a foreigner and a woman, i felt safe and welcome here so i reccommend friends from abroad to come check this place out. Possibly the best youth hostel i've had the pleasure of staying in oh also the little cat is so cute !

Really sweet hostel (Clean, cosy and lovingly furnished), super friendly staff and good vibes! I stayed there sadly just for one night, but we were instant connected and in interesting talkings with the owner, staff and other guests on the sweet balcony - an oasis of plants, smooth light and cosy chairs in the middle of skyscrapers! 第一次來洛陽玩，隨便找的全女青旅，沒想到超出預期。位置在十字街這邊，離玩的地方不算遠，打車也方便。房間很乾凈，床品摸着舒服，沒有奇怪的味道。每個床位都有簾子、小燈和充電口，晚上玩手機也不影響別人。公共區域很安靜，大家都很自覺，不會吵。衞生間每天都有人打掃，熱水很足。老闆人挺好，問路線都耐心説，不會過度熱情，很舒服。學生黨價格真的友好，下次來還住這兒。

Stepping inside, I realized ”Mo Wen” wasn't just a name, but an attitude: the ink-stained walls bore the weight of time, green plants unfurled with vitality in every nook, and each detail revealed the owner's meticulous care. The bedding was as soft as clouds, the bed immaculate, public areas spotless, and even the bathroom exuded a faint fragrance, washing away travel fatigue and making you feel like you'd returned to a warm home. What's most memorable, though, is the lively atmosphere of ”youthful chivalry, forging friendships with heroes from all over.” In the lobby downstairs, travelers from all corners of the world gather in a circle: here, there are no awkward strangers, only stories colliding and laughter intertwining. Young people returning late at night, dusty from their journeys, still join in the games with a smile. Friends from all over, brought together by ”Mo Wen,” chat and joke, creating a fascinating scene like a grand gathering of江湖 (jianghu - martial arts world/community), making you forget about time. Perhaps this is the true meaning of ”Just do good deeds, don't ask about the future” – focusing on present sincerity and kindness, and the future will quietly unfold into a poem amidst these unexpected warmth and stories. gjh: Fun, lively, and great atmosphere! The lobby downstairs is spot on. I'll definitely go back to pet cats and play cards next time!

I thought the Youth Hostel would step on thunder, but I hit my face directly after I lived! The room was clean as if it had just been renovated, and the bunk beds didn't have to climb up. The protective fence of the upper bunk was full. The point is! It's not noisy at all, and it's better to sleep at night than at home. The public toilet was cleaned cleaner than my own room, the boss was super nice, and he helped us store our luggage. A few hundred yuan stayed in the cleanliness of the thousand yuan hotel, what kind of bicycles do you need?

The location is just walking distance to Qing Ming Shang He Yuan. The 2 person room is quiet. However, the bunk bed is squeaking when the body is turning in the bed. The rooftop space is windy and nice for hangout at night.

Great hostel that provided a great base to explore Kaifeng. It’s nice and central to the Drum Tower market. There are nice public spaces. The dorm bed was very wide and very comfortable. The staff in particular were super. They were friendly and so helpful. They even allowed me to check in much earlier than I was meant to according to their rules - how kind of them. When I left one of them gave me a souvenir of some Kaifeng chrysanthemum tea to take with me. What lovely staff!

the hostel is located very near the subway and just a few stops from the railway station. there are restaurants and shops around. staff is helpful. the place is a little bit messy but ok for one-two nights. it feels safe. you can communicate with them on wechat and it's better to ask information about the floor and apartment number of the hostel (and pass code) beforehand, so you don't have to call them when you get there, since it's located inside a building. I feel if is better organized it can be a great hostel.
