Hostels w: Waikato, New Zealand

I spent a night at Adventure Taupō Hostel and I can say it's one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The place is brand new, and it shows everywhere: everything is ultra-modern, spotless, and perfectly maintained. The welcome was excellent, with very friendly, smiling staff who were always ready to help. The kitchen is simply exceptional. It's probably the best-equipped backpacker kitchen I've ever seen: very clean, huge, with tons of storage space and all the necessary equipment. The common room is also very pleasant, perfect for meeting and chatting with other travelers. The rooms are modern and very well designed, with USB-C ports readily available for charging devices, a much-appreciated detail. Frankly, it's flawless. For the price, it's hard to beat. I 100% recommend this hostel to anyone passing through Taupō.

I found this gorgeous place reminds me of an old ski lodge. Fantastic kitchen balconies and views. Staff are extremely friendly. Two blocks from Taupo towncentre. I was very happy here. Can walk into town but does have undercover car parking.

I had a great stay at this hostel, and I want to sincerely thank the host for staying with me until midnight during check-in, as I was delayed by heavy traffic. Despite the late hour, they were incredibly welcoming and made sure I was settled. Highly recommended!

stayed here because its essentially the only backpackers in hamilton.. The place really lacks privacy - there's no separation curtains on the beds in the room so feels very open, no separated bathroom- all in the same room, but at least the toilets have gendered signs on the doors.. would prefer more separation since the men's and women's are all next to eachother. Owner and/or cleaners would come into the rooms without knocking. My bed had the AC directly above it and it was kept on all night, quite drafty. Had a decent kitchen and community area, and good location though.

It's a 20-minute walk to the town center. As a youth hostel, it's above average and acceptable for just staying overnight. There's a super fat dog at the front desk, which is very funny and follows people around, adding a lot of fun

Friendly staff, room was really small and you can hear a bit of noise next door. All gold apart from this.

We had a wonderful stay at the hostel. The staff were very friendly and gave us a thorough introduction to the hostel, including its lovely animal residents, like baby lambs, deer, pig, and horse. A highlight of my stay was the chance to feed the baby lamb, which was a truly memorable experience! The facilities are basic, but everything is in good working order and covers the essentials. The bedding was clean, and they provided a clear wall guide on how to set it up, which was helpful and a nice touch. Overall, it was a cozy, enjoyable stay, and we would definitely recommend it to others!
