Pestana Blue Alvor Beach - All Inclusive Hotel

Rate 5 for the Hotel Room which was outstandingly maintained very clean and comfortable. First hotel where I have actually walked into a room and thought wow. Extremely happy. The 3 star overall mark was unfortunately due to unhelpful and often rude staff. The first hotel I have been to where we have not had friendly staff. Actually only one friendly staff member Nilton from the restaurant that took effort to smile and greet and make conversation. The bar the cocktail maker slim guy with glasses excellent The restaurant food quality was poor same food every day. The buffet restaurant was poor Shame the standards were not the same as the rooms.

Amazing hotel!!! the family were very well catered for with multiple pools and a children's club plus a children's outdoor playground meant they were kept entertained throughout the day and evenings The food was lovely offering breakfast, brunch (big plus as you don't need to rush for breakfast), lunch and dinner plus snacks were also available throughout the day so nobody went hungry and the children got to enjoy lots of food and Ice Cream and my children can be fussy, but all loved the food In the evenings there's an additional two a la cart restaurants which we were able to eat in once per week, and we were able to book so we knew in advance and our table was waiting for us when we arrived. The meal venues and choices never got boring and we have some lovely family meals The rooms were all newly refurbished fresh and clean, and the balcony furniture was quality so we were able to sit outside and relax enjoying the amazing views We don't normally go back to the same place however I've already booked to return with TUI and the kids haven't stopped talking about it We also went with my parents and they would take themselves off to the relax pool for the afternoon and said it was very relaxing and great that they were able to enjoy the holiday without having to be around the main pool all day

This is a very good value for money hotel. The welcome was very pleasant and the room, although a little dated, was comfortable and functional. The food was reasonable and the service very good. All in all a great base to play golf from with a good pool and nice bars, a very family oriented place.

I enjoyed my stay because it for relaxing for me. However, there were little that made it not so great. 1. The bathroom had this horrible used toilet/sewage smell, there were stains and dried soap on the wall and in bath. I mentioned it to reception and no one addressed it. The following day I called reception again and housekeeping came quite late to sort the problem. Sadly, not long after smell returned. At this point I gave up. 2. The rug was not cleaned properly, I had to pick up dirt and crumbs from the floor. 3. The balcony cushions were dirty. 4. There were no instructions for the AC and ceiling fan (wasn’t your standard AC/fan that common sense would have helped) 5. The language barrier with housekeeping was a little frustrating. I assumed a little English would have been an essential requirement for housekeepers, given that a lot of English and foreign travellers stay here. 6. I didn’t get a Dnd door hanger. I asked housekeeping using google translate and she didn’t get back to me. 7. The ***** light under the bed wasn’t working. P.s. upon arrival the telephone wasn’t working so I couldn’t reach reception. Being on the 10th floor and going down to inform staff wasn’t great. They did fixed this when I stepped out. (It wasn’t straight away) After all the above and more I gave up with involving reception as they took forever to get back and when asked the replies were blunt. I imagined with the way things looked, my room was rushed with no attention to detail. I was only there for 3 days, I didn’t want to get stressed about it. The good: 1. Beach is about 5 mins walk away 2. Absolutely loved the all inclusive meals 3. The room was really lovely and spacious 4. The balcony view was nice Note: 1. Not much indoor facilities, so if it’s raining you’re stuck at the bar area with everyone else. (It rained whilst I was there and everyone was pretty much stuck with not a lot to do.) 2. The doors didn’t have a peep hole. Not great if you’re a solo traveller 3. It’s a family hotel, so be prepared for children.

The hotel room was amazing. All inclusive was spot on. Good food, lovely hotel staff. Highly recommend. The pool was nice, delicious drinks. The room fridge was stocked up with water and soft drinks. Thanks Pestana Delfim

Just back from 4 nights at delfim. The refurbishment is amazing the room was beautiful. The infinity pool is a great addition. All staff very attentive can't do enough to help. Hope to be back next year

We have stayed at the Delfim many times since it opened and the recent update continues the high standard we have always experienced. The room update is very tasteful. Coffee/tea making facilities (refreshed daily) in the rooms is a welcome addition which we made full use of even though plenty of excellent food and drink is available throughout the day in the hotel as part of the all-inclusive package. As usual, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, even happily providing gluten-free bread when requested. The hotel is spotless everywhere. In the restaurant, a handrail on the steps/ramp to the lower area would be a useful addition. We shall definitely return.

We were so happy with our trip here. Amazing time for the whole family. The pool was cold, but the staff so warm. Good food, gorgeous facilities. Our room was stunning. We loved the balcony. It felt very much like home. Also our daughter LOVED the kids club (first time ever)- the staff was amazing. Thank you!

Rooms really good .The rest of the hotel in need of a face-lift. Biggest disappointment was the food . Out of 10 I'd have to give it a 1 .. the pool is occupied by seagulls most of the time if not in the pool they are looking to steal your food . The walk into the town is around 20 mins ,lots of restaurants and bars . The staff were really good . Pity the hotel is not .
