"New management from May 2026 and they are doing a good job trying to raise the profile of this place. Great value, walk to everything, including the Coop, for food bar and/or groceries. Suites are clean and beds generally comfy. It’s a hostel so can get crowded but guests are friendly and I had no issues with noise or safety. There’s also laundry and right next to UBI, so if you’re doing that course it’s super convenient."

"Not sure it had a ******* vibe which my friend felt more than me and he said it had a musty smell they bathroom door also kept locking on its own so we had to use a metal rod to tweak it open. It has a jacuzzi but I didn't try it not sure about the staff the female cleaners gave me the worst vibe, they take a deposit on arrival which is refunded back the hotel is opposite safeway which is a nice supermarket but expensive breakfast was very disappointing beds were comfortable"

"Both of us loved this hotel the rooms are really nice they have a microwave and fridge and coffee machine the beds are huge they put little gifts for you like cotton buds and make up removers shampoo conditioner etc. There's a jacuzzi but we didn't go in, the pool was shut but that's okay, if there was an issue staff sorted it right away it was simple but sweet. We aren't a big fan of Ashland so we couldn't come back but if it was somewhere else it would be my go to hotel very nice value"
