Palacio de Monjaraz

Very practical hotel in a very old location in the heart of Avila old town. We received the keys without having to speak to reception via a locker on the front door and room door. Setting is very traditional and authentic. Room as comfortable and quirky, excellent value. Breakfast room could do with a refurbishment. Food was adequate. Would recommend.

On arrival we were greeted by a really friendly receptionist, showed us how to use all the key codes so we could access our room keys and access the hotel if after 10.30pm. Our room was fine, a bit dated but we were not expecting luxury at that price so it seemed a fair space to lay our head for the night. We had a drink in the bar before we went out to dinner and the bar was lovely. The issue with this hotel is their walls are paper thin which you would not expect in a structure as old as this. I spent the night listening to a man clearing his throat, he might as well had been sat on the chair in our room. Appalling night sleep. Need to think about spacing guests out so they can get a decent night sleep, this is not the only review calling out this issue. Paying guests deserve a good night sleep as a minimum in any hotel. Poor hotel, such a shame. I didn’t go to breakfast as I was too tired, my husband and daughter did and said it was fair and basic

Stayed here for 2 nights during our trip to our new life in Spain. Parking is initially confusing - you can park outside the city walls for €1/day, just got to remember to get a new ticket as traffic enforcement is pretty keenly enforced. We parked up and it was about 5 minutes walk to the hotel. It’s an old building, our room was massive - but be aware there’s very little soundproofing. Lots of street noise from pedestrians, lots of noise from the adjoining room. Really draughty balcony doors, which I had to cram toilet paper into to stop the wind coming in. Wifi was bizarre - didn’t work in the room, went down to reception and was told it only worked in the public areas. We got online downstairs, when we were back in the room - wifi worked! Breakfast was good, lots of choice.

I struggled with how to rate this lovely little hotel. On the one hand it is charming and beautiful with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. But it had a couple of significant drawbacks: wifi that wouldn't work at all, and showers that would not hold a steady temperature or stream. It also has no elevator (so if you have heavy luggage or are older---look elsewhere!). And it was extremely noisy (ask for a room not facing the street, for sure!). You could hear the entire conversation of other guests; not uncommon though in the older Palacio type hotels. We also discovered that for the same price we could have stayed at the Parador. Friendly service, but overall an average stay, and next time I will try somewhere else

The hotel gave me a room that had sewage gas smell, which made me sick. Despite my request, the hotel did not give me another room so after four nights, by which time I lost my appetite and could not sleep, I had no choice but book at another hotel. Upon (my early) checkout, the hotel assured me they would refund the two nights I did not end up staying there, but ever since I left they ignore messages and when they finally reply, they deny everything. Don’t stay there if you want to enjoy your trip!

We had an excellent, spacious and comfortable room. The bathroom was excellent. The room was spotlessly clean. It was very quiet. It was a weekday when we stayed. We had the window open because of there was no a/c but the only noises were from the birds in the morning. Fine breakfast

En plein coeur de la cité historique, au sein d'un des palais restaurés. Tous les lieux (accueil, halls, chambre sont immenséments spacieux. Dommage que pour le service du petit-déjeuner la salle de restauration soit trop petite ce qui impose de choisir une heure de réservation. Et dans notre cas, bien qu'à l'heure demandée (le premier service) il nous ait fallu attendre à côté. L'insonorisation des chambres est à améliorer car nous pouvions participer à la discussion de nos voisin.

Estuvimos en una habitación dúplex que constaba de dos alturas en una habían dos camas y en la otra una cama de matrimonio otra cama individual, dos cunas y el baño. Decoración muy cuidada y tal y como se ve en la fotos. Bien de limpieza , buena ubicación y zona de aparcamiento gratuito cerca. Para nosotros fue una grata sorpresa al ir a la habitación y verla. Lo recomendamos al 100%

Hotel con una relación calidad precio espectacular. El edificio tiene mucho encanto, es muy bonito y evocador. Muy bien ubicado y el restaurante de enfrente está muy rico. Te hacen un 20% de descuento si eres cliente del hotel. Hay sitio para aparcar cerca, así que no tuvimos ningún problema. Repetiría.
