I loved it just as much, except for a problem with the room lock – it wouldn't lock, but they quickly fixed it. However, this didn't diminish our enjoyment of the hotel."

"This is a charming palace that has been converted into a hotel right in the heart of Avila beside the Cathedral. If you’re driving, then there is onsite parking, however, beware of the steps from the car park to the hotel if you’re carrying a lot of luggage. We unloaded outside the hotel, but had to carefully manage our way down the stairs to the car park when checking out. The breakfast room is set behind the beautiful central courtyard and the staff were friendly and attentive. As per check in and check out, fairly straightforward, but don’t expect any smiles or warm customer service."
