Traveling throughout Gansu province can tend to be hectic so it’s quite lovely to find a spot like Kaoshan Daying to stay at. David was very friendly and helpful, especially with his English language skills. He was always available by WeChat to answer questions.
The yurts are spacious and have necessary amenities including electric blankets and heaters, as well as hot water kettles. They are also clean, most importantly. The shared bathrooms provide shower flip flops and clean towels with lockers and hairdryers. There are sinks outside the yurts and they are also very clean.
The restaurant provides a large variety of ingredients to make a delicious hotpot. It was a quiet night when we stayed and we were able to get a great night of sleep. Our stop there was quite short, only 12 hours, but we would’ve liked to have stayed longer.

The room is nice, quite big, the bathroom is separated from dry and wet areas, and is relatively clean. Breakfast is delivered to the room, and the freshly fried shredded potatoes are very delicious. The rest is more conventional, but it seems to be like this in the northwest region. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the west gate of Colorful Danxia. However, if you are new to a high-altitude area, it is recommended to drive to the west gate. You can park at the entrance of the scenic spot, because the scenic spot requires climbing, which is still a bit tiring for people with average physical fitness. Went to see the sunrise in the morning but didn't see it on a cloudy day, which was a pity. It would have been nice if the weather was good.

It was my first time to travel to the Northwest, and for the first time I intuitively felt the simplicity, enthusiasm and hospitality of the Northwest. I booked two rooms. They were clean, tidy and neat, and the whole family liked them very much. The location is very close to Danxia Scenic Area and surrounding attractions. The boss has made the courtyard very warm and has done a good job with the details. For example, the paper cups in the room are specially plastic-sealed. This is the first time I have seen paper cups individually plastic-sealed. If we were not pressed for time, we would really have to stay and play for two more days.

This is the most satisfactory hotel we stayed in during our self-driving trip from Nanjing. It is clean, hygienic, and very close to Qicaixia. It is only a few minutes away. The boss even drove us to the scenic spots in person and picked us up at Danxiakou in the evening. Attractions, fortunately we made breakfast early the next morning, which was rich and delicious.
