„Overall the location was great and there was a direct sea view from most of the rooms and the onsen. Some of the facilities are slightly dated. Whilst it is very costly, i do feel overall that stay was still within expectations. The biggest disappointment for me was the dinner where the steam fish served was not as fresh. Despite the feedback provided to the hotel, they could not do any service recovery and simply kept repeating that they could not do anything. This goes against the great Japanese service I have always encountered everywhere I go in Japan”

„Fantastic service from the beginning to checking out! They are super attentive to your needs and everything provided was very personalised. I love it that the onsent resort is very private and it seems like they mostly served local tourist. The ocean view was absolutely stunning and it was a perfect stay! I would definitely come back again.”

„We reserved tatami room for one night. It was a bit hard to drive here as we need to drive through mountains. However, the room was so clean, and the service was so good. The dinner was served in traditional Japanese style, it was excellent and super delicious. The hot springs were lovely and privately designed, so cozy especially after a long day driving. Recommend!”

„Beautiful hotel that’s located right by the seaside with unobstructed view of the sea. Outdoor onsen looks directly out to the sea and it’s amazing. Tatami was made for us already when we arrived and the mattress was thick and comfortable. We didn’t choose to have food there, and instead went out—there are several small restaurants nearby and are within short walking distance. The staff were friendly, they came out to greet us in the rain when we arrived. Highly recommend if you are visiting the area.”

„Great location for watching sunrise directly from the room. Onsen view is great that I can see stars and listen to sea waves. The facility is old and the bathtub looks a bit rusty. The water needs 10 mins to become warm.”

„Beautiful hotel, overall good service except one front desk staff. We reserved a 10:00 shuttle for 8 people the night before departure, but by the time we arrived(before 10)they told us the bus is full so that we can not get in. I wonder if we made a reservation, we should be promised to have 8 seats or else it should not be called as a reservation but a “bus schedule”. Also, we told the staff multiple times that we are in a hurry that we need to catch the train and that’s why we made a reservation in advance. The staff also told us the next shuttle will come at 10:21 but actually it leaves at 10:31 which means we definitely missed the train ( if the staff communicated the time 10:31 clearly, we would walk to the station so we could still catch the train, instead, he said the bus will come at 10:21 so we wait) Huge disappointment and definitely a ****** to this trip. Please remove the bus reservation service as you don’t have any, thanks.”

„Ambiance: The scenery is absolutely stunning! Stepping out onto the balcony from the French windows and being right in front of the sea is just incredibly relaxing. Cleanliness: The room was very clean and spacious. Facilities: All the amenities you could ask for, including hot springs, a heated pool, a restaurant, and a coffee shop. Service: The staff were very welcoming and enthusiastic.”

„I booked a room with one bed, two meals and an open-air bath (think it is semi-open-air?). The room is a traditional tatami room with two beds. The room is very large and comfortable. The meals are semi-buffet style dinner (including hot pot, salt-baked abalone) and buffet style breakfast (including Japanese and Western options, but mainly Japanese style, grilled fish, pickles). By the way, there was a little incident. I originally booked a room without meals and a bath on another website. After booking the current combination here, I canceled the reservation there. However, when we arrived, we were initially assigned a room type without a bath. This is the first time I'm so grateful to have a hotel staff who can speak Chinese, because the other front desk staff are older and don't speak English at all. After several communications, I was able to switch to the room type I expected and got a very satisfying and comfortable accommodation experience. Since the room type comes with a bath, I did not have the chance to use the Kori-kiri bath in the villa, and I could use the large bath in the main building. Unable to share the experience. Another thing to note is that I rented a car and drove there. This villa is across the street from the main hotel of Shihuahai, but it is not very noticeable. If you can’t see it by driving, you can see the welcome in front of Shihuahai. The staff can explain it to him.”

„This is a hotel where everything is just right. First of all, the hot spring has the wonderful quality of warming you from the core of your body, and there are several baths, including private baths, so I like it very much. The equipment does make me feel a bit old, but it is not dirty or anything like it, it creates a tasteful atmosphere. What I particularly like about this ryokan is the hospitality of the hotel, including the landlord’s wife, and the delicious food. The warm hospitality that starts when you arrive at the ryokan will not make you uncomfortable, but you can enjoy various things that make your time at the ryokan special. Speaking of cooking, it tastes better than any hotel or hotel I've been to, and I want to do it again, just to cook. Together with the hospitality and hot springs mentioned above, this is an element that makes this hotel wonderful. Of course, there may be other hotels and inns that offer more facilities, hospitality and food. However, I think there is something unpretentious here. Highly recommended for those who want to relax in an old Japanese country house without being pretentious.”
