Premier Inn Chester Central (South East)

Firstly, if you’re travelling by car be aware that all parking spaces may be fully occupied if you arrive late in the evening. The hotel itself is in much need of a refurb. The common areas and rooms look very dated and tired. Our room smelt very musty (a bit like a charity shop!). I informed the friendly and helpful receptionist and she immediately brought an ionising machine to the room. I suspect this is a regular complaint as she knew exactly what was needed. The bed itself was very comfortable, but the bottom sheet didn’t extend all the way to the end of the bed meaning my feet were in contact with the mattress. The bathroom desperately needs modernising. The shower is above a bath (which is very high and not easily accessible) and has one of those clingy curtains (urgh). The shower itself wasn’t powerful enough. They also don’t provide loo rolls, instead using a dispenser that provides one sheet at a time similar to what you might find in a motorway service station. We were woken at 05:30 the first morning by the commercial bin men and the second morning at 07:00 by the gardeners mowing the lawn. Surely these could be scheduled for a bit later. Overall disappointing stay but was pretty cheap so can’t complain.

The worst Premier Inn I have ever stayed in! After having over 15years of very good quality of stays at Premier Inns. The bedroom had mould around the window. No net curtain up at the window, had to ask for one to be put up. The heater in the room rusty. As for the bathroom, really bad mould on ceiling all around the tiled area. The skirting board was badly damaged with water from I guess previously flooded bathroom and it were so smelly in the bathroom of wet mdf board. Really needs a refit in both the rooms we stopped in.

Another solid Premier Inn, not too shabby overall. Its in a good location, less than 10 minute drive into Chester itself. We stayed during the race week so was fully booked but staff seemed to handle it well and there was minimal noise from guests returning from the races. Only slight critiques would be staff not cleaning my room despite asking them to do so (I make a reservation that they were probably run off their feet due to above) and no fan/temperature control in the room (stayed at many premier inns and most have either or) as it was like a furnace. If the above was fixed I'd happily give this 5 stars. Still definitely worth a visit.

Usual service from a premier inn. Room clean, staff friendly. Breakfast at the brewes fayre seemed slightly chaotic not sure if it was lack of staff or just the influx of people at the same time. Only wish the bacon was cooked a little longer. Theres a Sainsburys and b & m a short walk away. Park And Ride is a short walk away too. The roundabout looks scary as its busy but there are traffic crossings. Had a really excellent visit and Chester is a great place.

This location is excellent if you have a car and don't want or need to be right in the centre of Chester. Parking is good, it has access to all the major routes into North Wales or to Liverpool, Manchester and Shrewsbury. It's very clean and the room we had is spacious. There's a pub / restaurant onsite and the food is good and not too expensive. Overall, we enjoyed our two night stay.

I understand that check in is at 3pm and I've always known that if you arrive earlier and it's ready, great, and if it's not, it's no biggie but never in my life have I heard at reception that 'your room is ready but if you want to check in early, it's £10.' (I was there at 1pm). For a split second, I genuinely thought the man at reception was joking but quickly realised he wasn't. I find this totally goes against the Premier Inn brand and is more akin to Ryan Air. This seems money grabbing, mean and just so low. I was with a six year old little girl too so to hear that the room was available but you 'couldn't check in unless you paid £10' left her crushed (because she knew I wouldn't pay it!). Needless to say I declined to pay. On top of that, there was no orange juice at breakfast, yes, you heard that right, NO ORANGE JUICE, at a Premier Inn breakfast (or Brewers Fayre but I don't care which company it is, I paid bed & breakfast at the Premier Inn and it's part of the bed & breakfast cost so as far as I'm concerned, there was no orange juice at a Premier Inn breakfast). Equally, there was no hot chocolate for children, not in the packets where you just add hot water, nor in the machines. So what hot drink are kids expected to drink who are too young to drink tea & coffee whilst their parents enjoy a hot drink? This is just unbelievable. Also, the room was cold, the heater in the room didn't cut it and the quilt was too thin. Overall, this is the worst night and breakfast I've ever had at a Premier Inn and I like the Premier Inn and have stayed at very many.

Great 2 night stay . Room clean n tidy and a very comfortable bed. Staff friendly and helpful too. Great pub next door with well kept beer and very tasty food ( breakfast and evening meal). Ideal place to stay for visiting the Zoo and Chester Can't fault it in any way

Stayed here for a week and the smell of smoke and people smoking **** was terrible. Every night all nigh stunk of smoke. Told the staff but nothing done. I had to lay a bath towel at the foot of my door to try to stop the smell of **** coming in but it still came in. I thought there was meant to be smoke detectors in the rooms but these ****** still smoke and it shouldn’t be allowed. Would recommend highly to avoid this place at all costs.

Lovely hotel and easy to access. Staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival. Lovely clean room.
