Star Island Impression Holiday Hotel

Hotel room smells like damp, has a dirty feel and very outdated decor and an overall shoddiness. Seemingly a ********** hotel with stuff like *****s and lube available to buy in the room. The breakfast is the worst food I’ve eaten here, don’t bother. Why put everything in hot plates if you’re going to let it go cold anyway? Even if it was hot it still tastes like they’ve bought their ingredients at the hardware store. If you want a cheap dingy hotel for one night then it’s fine but would never stay again/nor recommend anyone else stay.

Very nice location. Room is good and nice bed. Breakfast not so good. Swimming pool is very nice around sundown.

Good value for money. If your after a hotel in a nice location with a pool then this is an affordable choice. Breakfast was okay. The smiley face hash browns were a bonus

Great place to stay! Unfortunately it was raining so we couldn’t do any fun activities. We enjoyed the pool which is only open during certain hours…. Yea

The hotel is a piece of garbage... Blood stains on the bed, fridge not working, toilet stopped working, AC doesn't work... The desk staff were however understandable and gave us a refund for the nights we never stayed. Overall a nightmare of a stay.

We booked deluxe room which looked amazing on the photos, but in reality it was quite disappointing. Everything seemed old and it looked like no one stayed there in decades. The smell was really bad. We didn’t even use the outdoor swimming pool because it also looked abandoned and sad, filled with greenish water. Maybe just the timing was odd, I don’t know. I have to say that there is a lady receptionist that was super helpful and kind, I’d give her 10 stars if I could.

Very good location and nice view from the outside pool but it was open only 4 hours a day. Room was clean but the window was facing wall a pile of garbage

Sadly for us the typhoon in Shanghai caused the hotel to close it's outdoor pool. This was apparently a government decision that they had no power over. Our kids were very sad. The hotel is very old and run down. Location is good with amazing lake views but service and attention to detail was lacking. We walked down the road (to the right) about 500m and up the steps to the pagoda on the hill. The caretakers opened it up for us to see an amazing view of the lake/islands.

Hotel was almost empty due to the coming typhoon but when we asked to have a lake view we were told they were too full. Eventually after complaining that the pool was closed (due to government) and we were unhappy we got moved. Laundry service is available but we couldn’t use it as the person had gone home and no o e else knows how to use the machine. Breakfast was very Chinese, lots of carbs, mostly hot food that was cold. The bacon looked like slices of spam. There was cereal and toast but no butter or jam. The coffee was horribly weak and we were thankful we brought our own coffee maker. If not Starbucks is 2km away and delivers. Our rooms were not cleaned and we had to ask for more water and toilet paper. And in by ask I mean try once and then send my son to ask in his Chinese. The dead fish out my window was not nice
