We have just had a wonderful 3 night stay here for a mini-moon city break following our wedding. Our room was excellent. Bed comfortable, shower warm and powerful and mini bar well stocked. We were even given a couple of free cocktail vouchers to help us celebrate our marriage. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Having room service breakfast was nice treat for us each morning too. The hotel is in a great location in the New Town, a stones throw from the stunning Princes St Park and a nice stead walk into the new town. Drinks and food available in the bar/restaurant downstairs were also fantastic. Would certainly recommend a visit and I expect we will visit again. Thank you Tigerlily and the team.
Went for lunch with friend - nice venue and good service. Menu change not as good as previously but favourites still available. Quite dark inside but plenty of room. Good for all day dining in a convenient location but slightly off the beaten track.
I already had an idea of this hotel before booking so I was not that negatively surprised. I just wanted to pay as less as possible that is why I went for this hotel. We arrived before check in time so we left our bags in a deposit room. The same key that opens the main door opens your own room...I hope that still the other guests cannot open all rooms, but it was creepy. There was a woman at the ” reception” who was nice enough and gave us the main information after that we have not seen anyone else anymore. The room is very old fashion styled. Not only is has and old charme but it is also old and it looks like is has been renovated on a budget from the owner on his spare time as it seems from the carpet and from the bathroom. The worst thing is that the room was very dark and far too small. The bed was all in all not unconfortable. The window looked at a backyard with tonnes of garbage bags. Positive thins: there were tea and coffee facilities in the room, the location is very good you can reach for example the bus station on foot and there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The location was quite, but....on our second of 3 nights our upstairs guests started turning on some speaker out loud at 12 in the night which lasted until 3 in the morning. We informed the reception the day after who said they have no 24 7 reception so they could not stop the noise during the night. However we did not have the same problem the night after. The shower was good.

The traditional English breakfast is very substantial, the taste is OK, the service is welcoming, the room is small and there is no extra bed, but the bed is quite large, three people can barely sleep, the bathroom is clean, the place is not particularly easy to find, the front desk is half basement one. Overall feels good 👍
Of all the places we stayed during our two week tour of Scotland this was definitely our least favorite. The toilet in our room barely functioned...you had to vigorously pump the handle repeatedly to get it to flush. When we called to report the problem the hotel told us the plumber had installed the plumbing upside down in our room so there was nothing they could do. The beds were very uncomfortable. The hotel had hints of a previous grandeur, but it was in need of some serious renovations. Some of our fellow tour mates even reported finding mold in their room. Not surprising. While we were there it was raining and as we were sitting in one of the main parlors we noticed water pouring down from the ceiling near one of the grand front windows. Breakfast was very disappointing as well. The food was so so at best and the service was lackluster. The location wasn't all that great too. Nice quiet neighborhood street but it was a fair walk to anything. On a positive note, the staff who worked the reception desk were friendly. After our tour was over, even though we were staying on in Edinburgh, we made the wise decision to more to another hotel.

I stayed at the Adelphi Hotel on a recent trip to Edinburgh. It's definitely a budget-friendly option, which was perfect for me. The room itself was clean and functional. The bed was comfy, there was a flat-screen TV to unwind with, and the shower had great pressure with plenty of hot water.
Heads up, there's no breakfast offered at the hotel. I grabbed food at a nearby cafe each morning, which wasn't a problem, but be sure to factor that extra cost into your budget.
The room was a little on the small side, and I heard some noise from outside at times. It's not a fancy hotel, and there aren't any amenities beyond free Wi-Fi.
The location, however, was fantastic. It's just a short walk from the tram stop, and most of Edinburgh's attractions were within a 10-15 minute drive. There's even free parking on-site, which is a major plus in the city.
Overall, the Adelphi Hotel was a decent choice for my short stay. It's perfect if you're on a budget and don't mind a basic room without frills. Just be prepared to find breakfast elsewhere and manage your expectations.
The flight was late late at night from London to Edinburgh, and it was more than one o'clock in the morning. The reception was on duty and it was very nice! The room was directly above the entrance, the bedding was very comfortable, the breakfast was great the next day, but the space was limited. You have to queue up and have time to enjoy it slowly!
The location is very good, next to Calton Hill and close to the tram station. If you go from the airport, you can take trams directly to the hotel. The hotel is quite quiet, but the interior space is a bit small. The hotel provides two bottles of water and snacks of chips and cookies.
This hotel is historic and grand, I highly recommend it. Was once the Harbor Master's house for the port of Leith and it truly holds all of the charm of a historic building, but with many cool upgrades! The area is really charming, just off the water and a fairly quick bus ride to all the downtown sites. Every single member of the staff from the restaurant, to housekeeping to the front desk really went out of their way to be kind, helpful and attentive. This was a trip of a lifetime for me and they truly made my visit to Edinburgh all the more. I highly recommend The Malmaison. Thank you so very much for an excellent stay.

Outstanding
GGuest UserThis hotel is a short walk to and from from the airport. The staff were always polite and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. The lifts were a bit slow, but you could use the stairs. The lounge is huge and the breakfast included vegan options. I only wish there had been a fridge in the room.

GGuest UserThis was our second time at this hotel and we stayed for almost a week. You can't beat the location on George Street, right downtown, close to shops and restaurants. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms and bathrooms are very nice. The king bed had a good mattress and pillows. There is a safe. They seem to have made upgrades since our last pre-covid stay, including air-conditioning in (all?) rooms. As you would expect in a big city, the rooms are quite small and the hotel is not exactly quiet; also depending on where your room faces. We were right by the elevator, which I generally don't like. I wonder if it's because we booked through our credit card and not direct. It seems there is sometimes a ”penalty'. The rooms are supplied daily with water, delicious cookies and snacks. You can make individual cups of drip coffee in a filter, which is much better than instant coffee but not as good as a Nespresso, IMHO. We had breakfast included and the Printing Press is just wonderful, for breakfast, any meal and later evening cocktails and whiskey. The Burr & Co is a coffee shop, also right next door, with tables outside. Love that place. The hotel has great service. We lost a suitcase and got daily support in checking on the status and changing the address on the delivery. There seemed to be a shortage on hair conditioner and we didn't have a sign for do-not-disturb the first day and got woken at 8 AM, but that didn't spoil our enjoyment of the hotel stay. We expect to be back.
GGuest UserSolo visit as visiting the city, Edinburgh always been on my ”bucket” list and this hotel is just a gem! Not a 5 star building but most definitely a 5 star experience. I was met by Anthony who checked me in promptly and efficiently, he was very informative and helped me with a few tourist things. My room was perfectly fine, a little dated but nothing drastic. Breakfast perfectly cooked and everything you could have wanted, loved the porridge. I will be back again!
GGuest UserWell located and staff helpful both during our visit and via email leading up to it. Hotel is off the beaten track and was quiet so no outside noise to speak of. Room we were allocated was just about ok size wise, older style furnishings and was ok, very clean though as was the bathroom which again was ok. Breakfast had plenty of choice but server appeared to be under pressure with the amount of people as the times had been shortened to only 2 hours available, 7am to 9am - I assume to accommodate the larger party who were getting theirs at 10am. As a result our breakfast felt rushed , no toast or drink refills. Not a great problem at breakfast but don't really want to be rushing breakfast after a night out in Edinburgh. In summary for the price paid, excellent location and good staff, decor is dated but clean and adequate, would I return ? yes if the prices was more competitive.
GGuest UserLocation of the hotel was great. Close to old town of Edinburgh. Everything in a walking distance. Hotel room was a then worn out. Shower hose was leaking, toilet floor was soft and starting to break. Small cracks in the furniture and the floor. Toiled door had some moisture damage. AC was working/not working and there was a high moisture in the room. Window (that should not be able to be opened) was open. Layout of the room was from the worst side. 1 chair to sit on and wardrobe as far from the door on the opposite side of the room. No hand towels, just shower towels available. Breakfast was basic. Elevator to the floor was fast that was good.

AairtryVery nice hotel! Beautiful and spacey room. Near to the haymarket train station.
The staff is very nice and helpful.
Will recommend this hotel so much!!
BBrian PYI stayed second time in Yotel Edinburgh during my trip in Scotland since I wanted to be Edinburg the first and last night when I returned to London.
Yotel is a nice hotel with location right in the downtown and good for me since I took bus in and out Edinburgh airport, but not perfect location if travelers take train.
GGuest UserAwful hotel that is definitely not 4* and the service is not at Hilton level at all….
The hotel goes under the renovation and there were only 2 lifts with queues and they are also used by the staff too
We had a room for 3 people and had all set up for two people only, the room was dirty with hair in the shower and the ceiling.
When I took the shower the pipe was blocked and the water started to leak to the bathroom… yes they sorted the problem quite quickly but still was not great experience
There were no slippers and bathrobes. I asked for x3 slippers and they brought only one pair. I asked again and they brought only one pair again. On the third time they brought two pairs…. When I asked for 3!!! And still no bathrobes. We asked for additional blanket and it was in a random location after the room was cleaned.
The room was cleaned badly on the next day we stayed. My pajamas was thrown elsewhere and I found it on the table, the towels we put on the floor to be replaced were fold dirty on the shelves… the blanket was in a random location and the cleaner did not pay any attention at all left the room dirty. Very disrespectful
I felt that I had to beg for the things we are supposed to get in this kind of hotels. Shocking!!!
Yes they compensated with a complimentary breakfast which was good but still the service was bad. They sent the cleaner and by the time she came we were already sleeping. And she did not speak any English … very disappointed

GGuest UserLovely groups and views.
Comfortable bed and reasonable sized room, but the shower curtain was smelly, and we had to ask for it to be changed. It took several phone calls and nearly an hour before someone came and changed it.
Breakfast was quite good, but no eggs benedict offered, which was disappointing.
Unfortunately, the pool was packed with children and families who didn't appear to be stating at the hotel, and the timings for adults only swimming were before breakfast and after dinner. I did not consider this a proper 5-star hotel facility since it seemed less private and more public baths. Having seen how busy the golf was, I felt maybe this isn't a private membership golf and spa hotel anymore.
All in all, I did have a comfortable stay but found the hotel not private enough to make it a special experience, which is what I expected for the price and given its previous reputation in the community and in reviews.

We were a little apprehensive about this place after reading some of the reviews, but in the end, we had no problems or dramas. The instructions to gain access and collect the keyword simple and straightforward and happily everything worked. The room was perfectly clean, as was the bedding and towels.the water was always warm, although the cistern did take its time to fill. It took us a day to realise that if we needed clean cups or glasses and extra coffee tea and milk to just help ourselves from the lounge and leave our mucky cups in the tray there. As it is a double room having two proper chairs would have been nice. It is in a really nice area with rail bus and tram links to all parts of the city, although we mainly walked, taking about 30 minutes to get to the middle of Princes St. At the price we paid we would happily return.
