"The Wayside Inn is a hidden gem! Very unique aesthetic and such interesting history! It's been open since 1797! The staff were very friendly and professional; the room was clean; and it was overall very quiet. I did not get to try the restaurant, unfortunately, since it is only open Thursday through Sunday; however, there is a coffee shop next door that is a must try! It is located about 30 minutes from the northern entrance to Shenandoah National Park, which was convenient. Can't wait to go back and bring my friends and family with me!"

The hotel has a rich breakfast and fruits (apples, summer oranges) are available 24 hours in the lobby. The room is quiet and comfortable."

"This place was filthy and had roaches. The key card reader to open the room door was stuck to the door with Scotch tape. There was something that looked suspiciously like blood, splashed across one wall and part of the ceiling. One light switch shut off power to the entire wall, microwave, fridge, light, tv, outlets, everything."
