Bright Angel Lodge – Inside the Park

Grand Canyon Village|0.28km from city center
We stayed in the Rim cabin rm 6153 for $235 a night (+a $75 per night ”hold” on your card until released at checkout). It was the most CONVENIENT AND TIME SAVING- if you want to walk to the Hermits Rest (red) or Village (blue) shuttle junction, and also be close to the relatively inexpensive Fountain ($5 grab and go breakfast burrito and hot coffee $4) and the Fred Harvey restaurant in Bright Angel Lodge. Bright Angel also has a covered blue shuttle stop, to the left of the main entrance door at the end of the building. Walking out your door to watch the night sky and the Milky Way over the canyon at 9 or 10 at night is a lifetime experience. We were able to find a parking space right outside our cabin. The best times to find empty spaces are before 3 pm check-in. At 9:30 am there were at least 5 empty spaces in our particular parking area as we were checking out. Nothing is stopping you from parking your car, leaving your luggage in it, and taking advantage of the shuttles for hours before check-in time. Other factors made our stay ”average” on average. The cabin was charming with corner windows which would have overlooked the canyon, except that our view was a little set back compared to some of the other rim cabins, and wooded with pine trees and scrub bushes (including the trunk of a partially dead tree). The view should be described as ”peeks” of the canyon from under one of the pine trees, not ”partial view” of the canyon. The access from the rim onto the covered boardwalk which connects the rim cabins happens to be blocked by railings by our cabin, so it made it more private, as people weren't casually tempted to cut through from the rim and walk past our windows. One of our corner windows was warped and could not be entirely closed or locked. This was concerning when we weren't in the cabin. Each window that opened had screens that locked also. A wand pull for one of the drapes was lying on the window sill when we arrived. The heater worked. The bathroom was very nice and modern-with a separate sink area from the tub/shower and toilet. THERE IS A HAIRDRYER! (I had seen photos on this site of wall hairdryers, and called Xanterra to confirm since hairdryers weren't listed in the room descriptions. Xanterra told me there were NO hairdryers, so I wasted space in my carry-on for one that proved to be unneeded. The one towel holder by the bath covered the toilet paper holder if two towels were put on it to dry, so one of us had to use the towel rack by the sink to dry our towel. There isn't daily room service (which we actually liked). The toilet had a small, high, window that could be opened to the outside walkway for ventilation. The bed was comfortable. Our room had two high intensity lights over the bed, which made for good reading at night. We puzzled over our closet, which had a large ”porch like” affair with two bulbs which almost lighted the room itself-overkill by far. There was a ceiling fan and light that worked well, and a lar

The Grand Hotel at the Grand Canyon

The hotel is very beautiful. I was fascinated by the animal specimens decorated inside. The hotel room was small, but the staff at the reception was very warm and friendly. I agreed that we had several meals in the hall. We mainly like the atmosphere of the hall. We also Drinking at the hotel, other hotels have a lot of rules, this hotel feels very relaxed, in the morning, I also happened to meet the sika deer, completely unprepared, very pleasant surprise, very close to the helicopter club, it is very convenient to go to the plane to visit, the scenic area is also very Nearly, driving for ten minutes, there is a Mexican restaurant on the opposite side that is very delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.

Best idea ever to book this stay for the trip to the Grand Canyon. Conveniently located near the south rim with access to merchant grocery, eateries and shopping. Accommodations are quiet, clean and all you need basics! Would stay again.

It is said to be a king-size bed plus a sofa bed, but it is actually a sofa, and the sofa is very narrow, it is not easy to sleep at all, and it is so expensive, nearly 2600 a night, it is not worth it! Hampton by Hilton, who lived in the small town of Page, was only 1,400 a day. The room is large and the facilities are complete, which is much better than this price-performance ratio
Kachina Lodge - Inside the Park

The lodge is old and dated as are most of them at the Grand Canyon, however, that being said, the view is absolutely amazing. Our room faced the Grand Canyon and it said partial view but it was an unobstructed view of the Southern Rim of the Grand Canyon. The morning view with the sun rising is absolutely breathtaking. We could see it from our room and it made one side of the canyon a vivid red. However, we got so excited we got up and went out to watch the rest of the sunrise. Mind you it is steps from your window. We got up to a couple of deer standing right next to the Kachina. The bed was comfortable and the linens were in good shape and towels were thick and absorbent. If we were to go back to the Grand Canyon, we would definitely stay here again. Our friends were in a newer lodge a little away from us which was nice but their sliding doors opened to a parking lot and absolutely no view. So, you need to decide to View or not to View. We chose view. If this was helpful, I would so love a thumbs up. I love writing these and hope that they are helpful to someone.
