I give this hotel experience 2 stars as they attempted to rectify the issues with the hotel. Overall, it is massively overpriced for what it is. I'm guessing most folks who stay here do so because they are diving with the various dive operations located very close by. They were a no-show for my airport pick up, the room was small, there was a musty, stale smell when I entered it (and remained, through my stay), the bathroom door would not close and was a (literal) wrestle to open, with a good chance of the (glass) door shattering on me considering the effort it took to open the door, there was a cockroach in my room, and the flush in the bathroom stopped working two nights before I left. I was busy diving and didn't really plan to take on the responsibility for maintaining a property that I am paying to use, so I didn't have the time to raise all of these issues with the hotel until the flush stopped working, at which point the lady at the front office asks me why I didn't. I responded saying it is the responsibility of the hotel to ensure their rooms are in the condition they need to be so that they may deliver what they have committed to, and that it isn't my job to come in as a guest to maintain their rooms and wait in the room while an outside contractor is doing maintenance work, unless they are paying for my stay. This idea seemed a bit lost on her. I may stay here again IF I am diving with DC Maldives and IF Starry Inn next door isn't available, but not if I have another option.
