"The staff were all very welcoming. The only minor drawback was that the pool was only open from 10 AM to 4 PM. There are both indoor and outdoor hot springs. The Imai-hama station is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, but there's nothing else around. You'll find supermarkets and restaurants in Kawazu, the next station over. The hotel boasts a prime beachfront location with a sandy beach where you can swim in the ocean. Breakfast was incredibly rich and varied, though it did get crowded during peak hours. The rooms are very spacious, perfect for family trips."

"This is the only large onsen hotel in Matsuzaki, Izu. The decor is rather old, and all rooms have balconies facing the sea. Cleanliness is average; there's a lot of dust, especially around the air conditioning vents, which are covered in dust and can't be turned on. The buffet has a limited selection and average quality, but it offers unlimited drinks, including beer, sake, shochu, and wine, which is quite rare. The large public bath is indoors and not very big; there's no outdoor onsen. There's a ping-pong and snooker area on the rooftop."

"The sea view is unbeatable, and it's a 5-6 minute walk from the station. They offer a shuttle service to the station upon checkout, by appointment. A centipede ran into my room... but they changed my room when I requested it, which was fine. I stayed for three days, and the breakfast was decent. The service was typical Japanese, meaning you couldn't really find any fault with it. The biggest surprise was on the day of checkout: there was a huge typhoon in Izu, all trains were stopped. While we were feeling helpless at the station, a hotel front desk staff member arrived! They told us that because we had previously booked a shuttle, they were taking us to the larger Izu-Kogen station! I was so touched! That's truly Japanese service, solving an urgent problem! Overall, it was really good!"

"I enjoyed the space, the location were not too far from train station and the stunning view are just indescribable. The private bathroom is nice as well as the private onsen. Even though the staff did not mention about the tax we had to pay extra. Some parts of the room were not clean, the japanese doors had dust on each wooden grid attached in the photo. The food booking service is very very poor. We wanted to try their food but they said no due to head chef is away, i waited til the last day and tried to book again we also received a no. So we ended up having to find other things to eat. The outdoor onsen is also closed due to high waves, the staff mentioned no refund for us as well. I love that we get to enjoy the peaceful and warm japanese culture. Other than that everything is nice."

"202***.24 I'm willing to keep going to Atagawa Itoen just for the free 50-minute karaoke session in the Ocean View No. 1 private room. This is my third time staying there. Please understand, some people blindly rush to discover hidden gems. Without comparison, there's no harm done; having stayed at Itoen Hanamisaki in Shimoda, I realize that Atagawa Itoen is truly my white moonlight. Where else can I find an ocean view karaoke room outside of Atagawa? The rooms are as spacious as ever; even on the second floor, one window overlooks the sea (again, a dig at Shimoda Itoen). The room facilities are a bit old, but cleanliness is enough. The bathroom has reopened, but the bathtub is too Showa-era; if needed, I'll probably just shower outside. If you're not on your period, you'll definitely want to experience the large public bath on the 7th floor with its ocean view. The annex also has a large public bath on its basement floor. Last time, I always went to the annex's onsen (hot spring), which was practically empty. This time, even at 6 AM on the seventh floor of the main building, I was still crammed in with three or four elderly Japanese ladies. The main building's ocean-view public bath is definitely more popular. Although I had to catch the 10:35 AM train station drop-off, I still managed to squeeze in half an hour of karaoke before leaving. Before singing, I went to the pool again to make a wish to the stone statue of Nozomi-chan, and I bought the golden-eye sea bream scallops I'd been craving again. The cashier was the same smart and kind lady with glasses from last year. When we chatted, she seemed surprised and excited; fate is truly amazing."

I don't think this is a "luxury accommodation" based on the regular price range. The luxurious rooms, food, and amenities are as expected. After all, it can't be compared to "Fufu", where the customer service is as expected. But that's not to say I'm dissatisfied. Their hard work and politeness make me want to support them. Finally, the open-air bath on the terrace is too straight from the sofa in the main room (living room), so I would like some kind of privacy. Blind shutters are lowered from above, so they are not suitable for privacy from below. We are an elderly couple who have been married for 37 years, and we don't want to be seen relaxing in the hot water, and we don't want to be seen (laughs). This is a flexible inn with ideas for customers everywhere, so I would like some kind of simple privacy that only those who want it can attach, like the removable terrace fence so that you can look at the sea while soaking in the hot water. I will come back to enjoy the delicious food, the Nishiizu sunset, and the hard-working staff. Thank you for your help."
