Lisbon Cheese & Wine Suites

Booked this hotel following the reviews and watching the owner on you tube saying how fantastic his hotel was. Please don't be fooled as we were, hotel is nothing like in the pictures or in the video, this is not a four star hotel, far from it. Hotel is not clean, thick dust on skirting boards, we were met with stained seating and poor quality furniture in our room. Towels in the bathroom were supposed to be white but were actually grey. Room smelled really musty and the balcony was unusable due to dust from all the building work next door which we were not informed about. We decided to check out and asked to see a Manager but the manager refused to speak with us and has still not contacted us or spoken to us since we left. we were offered an alternative room but we declined as we just did not feel the hotel was up to the standard of a four star hotel in facilities but more importantly cleanliness. The hotel took £255 from us for 2 nights even though we checked out within an hour with no opportunity to speak with a manager, We were left to find somewhere else to stay which i am glad to say we did and the hotel we chose was fantastic with amazing customer service which this hotel just does not have. I have now read reviews of there other properties and the subject of cleaning or lack of it comes up a lot. if in Lisbon chose somewhere else and don't be totally mis sold as we were.

DO NOT STAY IN APARTMENTS!! We booked the apartment as a way to travel as a family. The website lists their apartments and suites as “luxury”. There was NO air conditioning and the apartment had 2 small fans 1 in each bedroom- none for the living room). When we arrived in August, it was 40 degrees celsius. The kitchen appliances are dirty. The blinds are ratty and we could barely open and couldn’t close them. The second night my daughter was in bed and picked up her iPad on the ground and ants started coming out of her keyboard. We then realized the apartment was covered in ants! They were all over the floor in two rooms and even in the bed. We called to complain and were told that there were no available apartments. Then later we were told they found an apartment (4 minutes later). When I said there was no a/c they said their website doesn’t say they have a/c (under amenities it says “a/c”.) To top it all off I was questioned why I didn’t call the night before to complain and they refused to give us any kind of discount or compensation. We left and moved to the hotel next door that has a/c and NO ANTS! Completely unacceptable for a place that listed itself as “luxury”.

We couldn’t have loved this hotel more! Absolutely gorgeous. Just a lovely athletic. Wonderful concierge who was helpful and knowledgeable. Sweet breakfast and the wine and cheese was lovely. Great value. We would stay again! Convenient location.

Not sure how we came across this hotel however couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. Location was 10/10 and made exploring Lisbon very easy. Right next to some top attractions like Tram 28, Barrio Alto and some superb fish restaurants. Room, staff & breakfast all great.

Good location for the west of central Lisbon. Excellent service from front of desk staff. A very pleasant cheese and wine offering, and personalised evening goodies. Traditional internal shutters effective for blocking out light. Breakfast range is good with great coffee options. Be prepared to step up to shower/bathroom area. Plenty of restaurants with a broad variety of types and price ranges, and the TimeOut Market within easy walk. Public transport easily accessible and ticket top-ups around the corner from the hotel.

Great location (not in the ultra busy touristy part) with an easy walk to the main attractions. The room was spacious and clean with a very functional bathroom. Staff were extremely helpful with providing tips on what to see first & eating recommendations. Breakfast was a continental style with great choices.

The suites and apartments are in very different locations of the city. We stayed in an apartment. It was on the highest point of the city, so a great view but not ideal for walking to the sights. The apartment itself was mediocre; not as scintillating as the photos on the website and the floors were a bit dirty.

We've just enjoyed a 2 night stay at this establishment, which met all our needs. Our room, on the 2nd floor, was well-equipped with a comfy bed, an efficient shower, air-conditioning, a TV & a kettle. Breakfast offered plenty of options, & we were welcomed with wine, cheese & crackers. Best of all was the location - it was a very short slightly downhill walk to the promenade, from where we could access a range of transport options, or walk to a number of restaurants, including the Time Out market, which was about a 10 minute stroll

We were recommended to stay here by some family friends and it did not disappoint. The concierges were all friendly and accommodating. Any time we had questions about where to go or asked for suggestions they went out of their way to help with directions and booking reservations. Our room was very clean and the daily breakfast was great. The location of this hotel is also fantastic as it's not in the heart of the busy streets but it's still very close to the city centre. The only suggestion I have is that it needs to be more clear how to get into the building. It's locked and you need a passcode to get in. As international travellers, we couldn't call the front desk to ask them to let us in and we ended up getting in because someone was walking out. It was a bit confusing because we had to knock. Would highly recommend!
