Billionaire Resort & Retreat Malindi

We loved this hotel, huge (and I mean huge) rooms, lovely staff, great location and the best sea water swimming pool I have ever been in! Yes its expensive, yes the food menu is slightly limited (plenty of other restaurants in Malindi) but overall a great stay. Huge thank you you to Bronson for taking the time to try and teach my wife to ride a bike as well! Its the little things like this that make a good hotel ''great''!

A Disappointing Experience at Billionaires, far From a Luxurious StayReview: My family, a group of 12, recently stayed at Billionaires for 3 nights, and I am compelled to share our less-than-stellar experience to caution others. While the apar**ent itself was the only silver lining of our stay, the service, especially in the absence of the manager, was disappointing, to say the least.From the get-go, we were met with disorganisation. Essentials such as soft drinks were unavailable, and to our dismay, this was just the tip of the iceberg. The restaurant’s menu was a mere suggestion, as most of the items, including basic food, were not available. Our hopes of enjoying a pizza at lunch or indulging in ice cream were quickly dashed, as neither were available. What made matters worse was the lack of communication from the establishment regarding these inconveniences. As vegetarians, our dining options were severely limited, with hardly any choices to accommodate our dietary preferences. This lack of consideration was evident from the moment of our arrival. Despite being picked up from the airport, no amenities like cold towels or water were offered—a basic courtesy we expected. The welcome at the hotel was underwhelming, with only one person attending to our large group, making the process unnecessarily slow.The exclusivity expected from a place named Billionaires was missing in every aspect. The brand of water provided was not to our preference, with no alternatives available. It was clear that the staff did not prioritize making us feel special or valued.Our complaints on the last day prompted a reactionary service, where soft drinks were hastily sourced from room fridges—an action too little, too late. Promises to fix the elevator remained unfulfilled, leaving us to navigate lies and a lack of accountability. In summary, our stay at Billionaires was marred by a series of disappoin**ents. The lack of basic amenities, poor communication, inadequate food options, and indifferent service significantly detracted from our experience. It's disheartening to report that Billionaires falls short of the luxurious, accommodating stay one would expect from its name.

We were received with a warm welcome by Mr. Matteo who has been extremely professional giving us all the information of the activities offered by the hotel. The staff has been very kind. All meals had at both Billionaire and Lion in the Sun were very well presented and tasty. The breakfast was wonderful. We had a Suite in the Lion in the sun which was absolutely fantastic. Staff was very helpful and kind and always ready to accommodate any request. The hotel was so well kept and the furniture in the rooms and common areas were outstanding. I would for sure spend other holidays in the resort. We thank all of you for the wonderful stay

The experience was absolutely AMAZING! You get to experience two hotels in one visit very incredible! Also the staff, management are very organized and good at what they do. Billionaire resort and Retreat Malindi is definitely a place to be!

I have been a regular visitor to Malindi for years. My favorite spot on the coast in Kenya. However I have never stayed at Billionaire. In late July 2022, I went to the hotel and asked for a tour. I was really blown away. Susan fro Guest Relations was incredibly kind. She walked me through the whole property, showed me their apar**ents, shuttled me around to their hotel side, and explained all their offerings. It was a 45 minute tour at least. Every staff member we passed stopped what they were doing to wish me a "good afternoon". The beach at the resort is private so you have the luxury of beach beds and no beach boys. And the property itself is exquisite. My understanding is that this was actually a private home of an Italian billionaire that was converted to a hotel quite recently. An absolute treat. I will be staying here on my next visit for sure because of Susan's kindness and hospitality.

From the time we checked in to the time we left, everything about our stay as magical. This place is special not only because of the beautiful grounds but because of the staff. Everyone knew my daughter’s name and always went above and beyond. From the bartender always making sure our drinks were nice and fresh to Carol, Brege, Mercy, Naomi and the managers at guest services and the drivers, the pool boy, cleaners and chef, everyone was so incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was wonderful. The chef was kind to prepare a delicious breakfast because we were checking out really early for our safari. We even met the GM who was extremely kind and chatted with us. Coming from the US and making the 25 hr flight was so worth it because I got to experience this paradise gem. I would visit Malindi again just so I can stay here. We stayed over at the lion of the sun( the retreat section) and had full access to Billionaire. Infact it was great to have 2 hotels in one. The beach right at billionaire is excellent and during low tide, there were several little sandbanks. The food was great, decor was excellent and staff amazing. We will cherish the time we spent here and can’t wait to tell everyone about this place.

The hosts were awesome, responsive to our needs and super approachable. They made sure our team building was a success and our stay was memorable. The food was excellent. The beach and pool were stunning, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Our rooms were kept very clean. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Malindi. It is definitely a resort where you will get value for your money 😊.

One word- paradise! Our visit to billionaire was one of the most relaxing experiences we have ever had visiting the coast. From a warm welcome from Joyce at the front desk to the first look into the apar**ent, we were blown away. We stayed in the 4 bedroom apar**ent that was tastefully decorated, had a huge balcony and had all the amenities that we required. The close proximity to the beach made it the best part as you can take a swim in the large infinity pool and dry off on the sun beds on the beach. Everyone at billionaires was absolutely friendly and we are so thankful to Dixon who kept our rooms sparkling with extra care. The only thing we found as a downfall of billionaire was the food. Breakfast was basic and their regular menu didn’t have much to offer. Being a hotel in the coast, we were hoping for more Swahili dishes or even snacks on the menu. This slight adjus**ent would make this place perfect! Nevertheless there’s a lot of restaurants and street food locations in Malindi that are not too far making the hotel ideally located.

To be honest, this is by far one of the best hotels we have been to in Malindi. ARS TRAVEL & TOURS staff were welcomed and treated like queens by the friendly and professional staff from the hotel. The rooms of apar**ent C5 were of top notch quality and very spacious. The food was exquisite fine dining with attention to detail. In addition, there is Always a shuttle to transport the guests in between the resort and the retreat. We had the privilege to also experience the Spa trea**ent which was exceptionally relaxing. Unfortunately we didn’t experience the gym but the machines were inspected and found to be in good condition. Overall, if you want to experience fine dining and top notch service and stay, this is the place to be. It was a delightful experience and we would absolutely recommend this Wonderful place to our clients.
