Casa Perpetua Hotel D Charm

What a beautiful unique property!! The lobby and patio/pooldeck are beautifully done and very inviting. Too bad we stayed only one night. I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you are in Manaus.

This place is so incredibly charming and the staff is so friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond. There's also breakfast every morning! We would definitely stay again. This is a very unique place, and it is close to a ton of different places within walking distance.

We stayed two nights. The hotel is in a beautiful old building and they have done a nice job fixing it up and decorating, with a few issues. Our room was quite nice except that the doors and windows are not sealed from the outside, so mosquitos come and go. Since it was quite wet and rainy this raises the potential for malaria. Luckily, we did have a pretty good mosquito net over the bed. Screens on the windows would help a lot. Breakfast was good. There was a wide variety of breads and pastries, fruit, coffee, juice, ham, and cheese. No hot items. Staff were very nice and helpful. Those that spoke little English usually spoke Spanish, so we were able to communicate. Location is great. The Opera House and many very good restaurants are close by. They keep the gate locked all the time and had a locked storage room where we stored our bags while we went on a tour. There is a pool and some very nice outdoor decks. Overall, it's a very nice place to stay.

Negatives: threadbare towels (some with holes), threadbare and scratchy sheets, blankets that didn’t look clean, shabby carpets, dirty mosquito netting, beds hard as a rock, and a meager breakfast. We stayed in a family room at street level which sounded like we were literally sleeping on the street with two competing bars playing music. Shower had an open window inviting plenty of mosquitoes inside. The place is shabby chic with a strong emphasis on shabby. The outside of the building is really lovely and they try to make it charming inside. Just clean, good towels and normal sheets would go a long way. I would never ever recommend this place to someone else

The manger was very courteous allowed us to stay an extra two hours in another room as our cruise was later during the day.

Bed Bugs - dirty sheets - mildew smelling towels - dirty rugs The staff was nice, the building was unique, but the sheets, bed spread etc were not clean!

Staff spoke English and was very helpful. Very unique and fun decor! We really appreciated that when our luggage was delayed they hung on to it while we were on our river cruise.

It is an antique home. It's OK. The people are friendly and the breakfast is good. Very good location to restaurant and entertainment. Hot water. We arrived very early in the morning and were accepted. Safe inside.

If you want charm and wonderful, friendly and helpful staff this is the place for you. If you want to be a three minute walk to the Teatro Amazonas and the San Sebastián square , look no further. This building is over 100 years old and has been lovingly restored to its original glamour by the owner. As a single woman, I felt safe there and walking around the area. They have a delightful breakfast. Many thanks to Sue Anne for helping me to book a wonderful tour with Amazing Amazon Tours, I highly recommend them and have posted a separate review. A very sweet employee, Selma , speaks English so well and was especially helpful. She told me about the free classical concert at the Teatro Amazonas which I was able to attend. She had lots of helpful information so make sure you say hello to her.
