Hotel Apartamento Dunamar

Nice spacious 1 bed apartment, comfy bed, side sea view, bath and shower and a short walk to the beach and lots of restaurants. My main criticism is the kitchen. Very poor equipment such as no chopping board, tiny tea cups and huge pans - how many people do they think are there. Also beware the hot water temperature in bathroom and kitchen is scalding so if not paying attention you could burn yourself. Overall a pleasant place to stay and friendly staff.

Usually stay at the Alcazar but chose this for a change and have to say we were very pleasantly surprised. The apartment 421 was roomy and airy. We paid extra for a sea view and it was totally worth every penny. The beds are comfortable, the sheets smooth and soft and the towels were soft and fluffy. The loo roll is basic and toiletries limited to hand soap and shower gel. There aren’t enough coat hangers (5/6 each) but plenty of drawer space and a full length mirror. The sofa and chair are adequate the sofa is a sofa bed for another two people if desired. Coffee table. Large smart TV - you can watch YouTube. Nothing else in English. The kitchenette has most things you need. Plenty of cutlery, bottle/tin opener, crockery, coffee machine, kettle, microwave and two electric rings with frying pan and two other large pans - nothing small. Washing up liquid is provided but no dishcloth or sponge. Tea towels are provided. Complimentary bottle of still water in fridge. The hob in the kitchen was slightly cracked and had been repaired with silicone. It really needs replacing as some of the heat numbers don’t work properly. It is also very slow. Dining area - table and four chairs. Comfy. Bathroom - walk in large powerful shower. Plenty of hot water. Good sized counter top and washbasin. Bidet (no soap dispenser nearby). Toilet seat was loose and rickety. Reported this upon arrival - maintenance did not arrive within our stay (7 days). Still needs attention/refastening. Room keys - we had a lot of problems with these not working for the first couple of days. Eventually resolved. Small issue with Dutch people reserving sunbeds all day and not being there. I raised this at reception and Catarina told me I could move their belongings. I pointed out that this wasn’t my job and should be done by a member of the hotel staff, as per their poolside notices, to avoid poolside arguments. She then got a man to put out some more sunbeds as the weather was nice and there weren’t enough available. This solved the issue and should be done automatically. The room maids were lovely. Very quick and efficient. The reception staff are all very nice and helpful. One thing we found unusual is having to leave either a cash deposit of €50 or credit card details. Not sure why? Breakages? We didn’t use the restaurant or bar as we were self catering. We were very happy with our stay. This hotel backs onto the beach which you can access easily via the boardwalk where there are plentiful bars and cafes. It suited us as it was quiet - in summer it may be too busy - I don’t know. We look forward to returning hopefully next Christmas. Thank you very much

O hotel está muito bem localizado junto a praia de Montegordo e escolhi-o para passar uns dias sem stress , mas no entanto o check in foi um desastre, uma Senhora alta de cabelos loiros de óculos foi muito inconveniente, primeiro devo começar pela aparência muito mal cuidada pelo que entendi é a chefe de receção estava ao telefone com alguém a falar sobre uma reunião. O check in foi básico com poucas informações , sem um sorriso ou um "seja bem vinda" com um acolhimento digno de um hotel de 4 estrelas . Péssimo serviço. O pequeno almoço muito bom, melhor que em muitos hotéis onde já me hospedei, o jantar buffet á noite também maravilhoso. A limpeza do quarto outro desastre a Governanta deve gerir melhor as funcionárias que gritam alto logo de manhã. Durante a noite gritos vindos do corredor não sei se alguma discussão, liguei á receção e não atenderam. De manhã no check out outra rececionista muito séria sem um sorriso. Acho que o serviço prestado tirando a parte do restaurante e bar , foi péssimo. Não voltarei a hospedar-me

We found a great value winter package from Jet2 to Dunamar: excellent accommodation with clean, spacious, modern apartments. Comfy sofa bed for once as well as main bedroom! Friendly, efficient staff. Good kitchen facilities for self-catering. Basement health club is 5 euros a session to use the gym, small but modern equipment. Montegordo is very much a beach resort so it's quiet off-season but it's also an excellent location if you want to get around the eastern Algarve without hiring a car. Low cost taxis, cheap bike hire (town bikes,mountain bikes, ebikes all available) and a good train service with station under 10 minutes taxi ride away (4 to 5 euros). We cycled to nearby Vila Real town & Castro Marim village and its huge wetland nature reserve with hundreds of Flamingos - superb cycle paths to both. We also took the cheap ferry across to Ayamonte on the Spanish side of the river; got the train to Tavira and Faro - both beautiful cities; and walked in the expansive pine forest which is literally on the doorstep. We went on a great excursion with local operator Riosul. All in, a fab hotel in a top location for a stress-free family break.

Para terminar o mês de novembro decidimos fazer uma escapadinha a 2, utilizando um voucher que nos foi oferecido. Não poderíamos ter escolhido melhor Hotel. Adoramos tudo! A piscina interior é de cortar a respiração. Para além de tudo super higienizado, a piscina é linda! O pequeno-almoço também foi ótimo. Iremos voltar com toda a certeza.

Heerlijk, ruim en schoon appartement! Ligging is perfect, je loopt zo het brede zandstrand op en je bent ook zo in het centrum. Aan het strand heb je verschillende gezellige en goeie restaurants waar je heerlijk kunt lunchen en dineren. We hebben vnl op het zandstrand gelegen (15 euro voor 2 bedjes en parasol). Het ontbijt in het hotel is uitgebreid en voor ieder wat wils: gebakken ei, roerei, gekookt ei, diverse broodjes, heerlijk vers fruit zoals watermeloen, ananas, mango. Bij het zwembad kun je ook lekker lunchen voor weinig. En neem een heerlijk drankje in de cocktailbar (biertje is 2,20 een groot glas sangria is 4 euro, een goed gevuld glas wijn is 3 euro en een pornstar martini is 6 euro). De prijzen vinden wij vergeleken met Spanje en Canarische Eilanden prima! Super vriendelijke mensen en de schoonmaak is perfect, elke dag en elke dag schone badhanddoeken! En o ja, laat je eigen strandlaken maar thuis, want je kunt hier elke dag schone strandlakens verkrijgen tegen 25 euro pp borg. Deze wordt alleen in rekening gebracht wanneer je de strandlakens niet terug brengt op je laatste verblijf dag. Wij komen hier zeker nog een keer terug!!

Right overlooking the beach and easy walk to numerous restaurants. Big comfortable beds in our one bed apartment. Nice food freshly cooked at snack bar by pool. Super big pool and good sunbeds. All staff very polite and helpful. Special thanks to Dora at the snack bar and Daniel in the Cocktail bar.

One of the best apartment complexes I have ever stayed in! The rooms were spacious, spotless and well catered for. The staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant. There is a connecting walkway to the beach and the on site pool is well maintained. I would definitely recommend this complex to anyone thinking of visiting Monte Gordo!

The hotel has a perfect position close to the beach. It was very relaxing to stay there despite the pool area was a bit busy sometimes.
