Cannery Row Inn

Friendly staff, solid location, decent WiFi and generally clean and has the basics down. Better for sightseeing than for those staying in, I think. Quick things to note: they don't allow late checkouts, just fyi, but otherwise you just drop your keys in a box to check out. The vending machines are also located in an open area, which is nice for when I visited but could become an issue if it's raining... The balconies are really nice, and the location is insanely convenient. It's about 10ish minutes to walk to the aquarium, and it's a block (or half, if you go out the back!) to the waterfront. There's solid food and sightseeing options here too. They do have a decent parking lot, but there's a ton you can see in Monterey by walking, and this hotel is perfect for a lot of those. What's missing here: a common dining area and breakfast, for one. Rooms aren't cramped but most furnishing is basic. Don't expect anything fancy, essentially. All that said, it's a solid choice if you're actually going out and sightseeing vs spending tons of time here. And if you do, they have some pretty nice patios and some rooms have balconies overlooking a trail.

Dated premises but they did not skimp on the bits of quality comfort that make all the difference in what's really important in a comfortable stay. Loved the bedding and high ceilings and bathroom touches that make it feel more luxurious than the humble exterior and lobby.

Always so happy with this place, clean, absolutely best location with a great price and the staff are wonderful!

The location is awesome, and the price was very reasonable. But the first room we were shown had a large damp patch on the floor (not sure. We were then moved to another room (and to be fair, the staff were v apologetic), but even the new room was really quite shabby (dirty carpet which was coming up, falling down shower-curtain, etc) and the noise from the road was awful. Anyway, at the price, it was fine, but I wouldn't stay there again.

The Cannery Row Inn was a welcome surprise. Relatively inexpensive for the area, close to everything but enough removed that it was quiet and not crowded, and nice staff. They allowed us to park there in the morning for our day at the aquarium, moved us into a room with a nicer view without us even asking, and the room was spacious with a nice balcony overlooking a park and beach. We ate just a few steps away at Osteria Al Mare, which was delicious.

The parking and location was great. The room wasn't as clean as expected...there was an empty apple sauce snack on the floor in the corner and hair in the shower. I think they will do a better job next time.

The hotel is clean and convenient. The staff was friendly and they have a parking lot in the back. The reason for 3 stars is because the beds are not comfortable. If you like a very firm mattress this is the place for you. We did have a very nice fire place in our room with very high ceilings.

Very nice property, great location just a few blocks from Cannery Row. Room was very spacious, fireplace was a bonus. Loved this property, would recommend!!

The hotel was excellent! Two minor complaints: shower head water pressure was low and the drain stopper was loose. Besides that the location was great, were able to walk everywhere. And the beach was across the street. Would stay again!
