Apartamentos Río Marinas Canovas Nerja

I usually check Tripadvisor before booking anywhere but this time round it simply slipped my mind. After booking and paying I decided to have a read of some reviews to see what was around this location, having never stayed outside of Nerja center before. Having read some of the negative reviews and seeing some of the pictures posted, we were quite apprehensive about staying here. However, upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in Apartment 9 and it was excellent. Modern, spacious, very clean and well equipped with all the essentials. Can't speak for any of the other apartments as we didn't see them. The owners of the apartment were extremely friendly and provided excellent communication before, during and after our stay. They also provided recommendations for restaurants, attractions and had a list of numbers for taxis and services if we needed them. The pool area and surrounding gardens are very clean & well maintained. The complex is secure with multiple entry and exits which can only be accessed via your key. At reception there is a really nice man, Juan, who was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. There is a small mini market in the complex which is ideal if you need some necessities; albeit overpriced but to be expected when there are no other shops/supermarkets nearby. If you like the beach then you can't beat the location as it's literally a 30 second walk. You can walk to the centre of Nerja in 30 - 40 minutes but when it's hot it's easier to take a taxi/bus. The bus stops right outside the apartments (5 minutes to the hour almost every hour) and only cost €1 per person. About a 5 minute journey then into the center. A taxi costs approx. €7 but can be difficult to get at times; especially mornings. There are two really nice restaurants in close vicinity - Mesonera de Nerja (one of the best restaurants we've eaten in) and Avalon. During busy periods of the year you may need to make reservations as it's unlikely you can just walk in; from what we discovered. Overall we were very satisfied with our apartment and stay here.

Los apartamentos se encuentran literalmente en primera línea de playa en una zona inmejorable, con fácil aparcamiento, pero una vez te alojas observas las carencias existen. Esta urbanización se construye en el año 89 y dudo mucho que el mobiliario se haya cambiado desde entonces. Son muchos los defectos existentes, una puerta de entrada dejada y con la madera con juntas abiertas, puertas de armarios que se caen, tapa del inodoro desgastas, bañera pintada, azulejos con óxido, colchones hundidos, cajoneras rotas, suelo gastado una lista innumerable de defectos que enturbian la buena ubicación de los apartamentos. Cuando entramos en el apartamento la limpieza o mejor dicho la falta de esta se apreciaba, mucha suciedad en el suelo, ventanas, persianas y pollete, frigorífico sucio, escurreplatos… Espero que esta crítica sirva al propietario para mejorar, ya que todos los apartamentos se encuentran en esta situación de dejadez.
