"Stopped off with family for a meal and were disappointed. Surroundings are fine but food and service not so much. Pizza tasted like cheap supermarket frozen variety and nachos were awful. Ribs were good but there are so many much better restaurants within a 10 minute walk. No table service for drinks. Bar staff are friendly but slowest service. Many better places nearby."

"Lokalizacja jest fantastyczna, tuż przed tak zwanym „Balkonem Europy”, otoczonym tętniącym życiem szeregiem sklepów. Powiedziano mi, że obsługa restauracji będzie przyjmować gości do 23:00, ale po przyjeździe krótko powiedziano mi, żebym „sam zadzwonił pod ten numer”. (Może z powodu obowiązków w restauracji?) Właściwie poprosiłem miłą osobę z okolicy, żeby zadzwoniła pod ten numer i poinformowała mnie, że przyjadę po 23:00, ale w ogóle się nie udało. Udało mi się namówić ich do zameldowania, wyjaśniając sytuację za pomocą aplikacji do tłumaczenia. Pokój miał ładny wystrój, ale nie było kołdry, a schody były trudne do pokonania, ponieważ nie było windy. Nie było żadnych udogodnień ani nawet wody; to było tylko miejsce do wzięcia prysznica i spania."

"Hi, stayed here for a week which included breakfast,and the pro's and cons are thus, Pro's, very clean hotel, staff very pleasant, food at breakfast was adequate although not a vast choice but enough choice to start the day off. Hotel is 5 minutes walk away from shops, bar's, and the Balcon de Europe. Con's, if you have an early flight home, as the restaurant isn't open,you can ask for a breakfast bag to be made up, we asked if we could go in to get a tea, coffee as it was from a machine anyway and was refused, the breakfast bag consisted of a sandwich made up the night before, a bottle of water, a kids juice, a hard pear, and a yoghurt with no spoon to eat it with. So I walked outside and gave the bag to a man who was sweeping the streets, but the biggest thing for me was the con at check in, they tell you your room isn't ready yet but can show you a similar room that's ready, and then show you a tiny room you couldn't swing a cat in with a small window looking onto the smallest courtyard you've ever seen, (supposed to be a standard room) and then tells you you can upgrade to a superior room which she takes you to, with a small balcony overlooking the square. An improvement as it was a bit bigger with a view over the square and after viewing the standard room you are going to upgrade at a cost of €105 extra. My question is, if the standard room was similar to the room we were being allocated which wasn't ready, why not allocate the one that was ready? My thoughts are that this is the con, show you the worst room so you will upgrade and be another €105 out of pocket. I wonder how many others have had this experience. Would I stay here again, it would be a no, as there are better hotels of similar price, much better ( M B Boutique, 5 minutes away for one) which we stayed in previously."

"In Spain there are hostels and hostals; the latter is similar to a hotel or guest-house. A hostel (with an "e") is a youth hostel in anywhere, as I understand. Now we have that sorted-out, this review may help you to ‘get-over’ any perceived stigma or embarrassment about staying in a hostal (potentially assumed to be a cheaper and lesser standard of accommodation). Our hostal was on the Carabeo Road; a stones-throw from the cultural centre of Nerja (the Balcon de Europa). Unfortunately the hostal was also adjacent to a large open-area variously used for events, including the ‘Nerja Feria’; a festival which is held in early October. When we booked we hadn’t realized it was festival week. A few days before flying-out we were advised of the festival, and given the opportunity to cancel (much appreciated, thanks). The noise was truly horrific and lasted all afternoon, evening and all throughout the night until about 5am. It was virtually impossible to sleep at night; we had to use earplugs, or otherwise grin and bear the constant noise. This is not where you would stay during the festival unless you are extremely hard of hearing, or a heavy sleeper, or you are intending to attend the festival. That was the only seriously bad issue here, mostly it was otherwise good or very good. We booked a double room with en suite bathroom/WC. The bed (actually beds) however were two separately sheeted single beds pushed together. The Wi-Fi was inconsistent and failed at various times despite, we were told by the very kind and attentive management staff, a substantial investment in what appeared to be a Mesh or Wi-Fi booster system. The English speaking staff were in an office right next-door to our hostal, other hostals owned by Tre Soles (Three Suns) are also situated on the Carabeo Road. There are two more: one with smaller rooms ideal for shorter stays, and the other with, I understood, apartments with great sea-views. In our room the bathroom generally was great: the shower was fantastic, the plumbed-in hairdryer was excellent, but the bidet tap was a bit over-enthusiastic, the basin tap conversely was slow, and the sink plug was very difficult to remove: ideally it needs a chain (or maybe pliers should be provided). In the main room there was very efficient remotely operated air-conditioning, a remotely-operated TV with just local channels (very, very occasionally in English), a fridge (essential to keep drinking water cold; we drank 1.5 liters a day in our room), plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, there was also a desk and a bench-chair, plus bedside cabinets with table lamps, and an occasional comfortable armchair. The room was serviced every day to a high standard, but the air-conditioner, and the extractor fan in the bathroom, badly need to be cleaned. Direct access was possible from our room (No. 23) via French Windows to the back garden with patio tables, chairs and parasol provided. Other rooms had access to the back garden via a "

"The hotel and the surrounding area is well maintained. Room was clean and well facilitated. Hotel facilities were also quite good. Nice sea view.  I do appreciate how they managed the restaurant, as they are extremely helpful by finding you an available table. I was happy to see the area was free from mosquitos, as we later visited Benalmádena near Málaga and suffered by mosquitos. Now to the painful bits: 1. The WiFi was a big pain - the Internet connectivity is close to non existent, that I had to use my mobile cellular data through the entire stay.  2. The parking was difficult - there were plenty of parking spaces, but still overwhelmed by the holiday seasons. There is a dedicated car park but was locked and overcharged (15 EUR). I found it absurd as they advertised free parking. This was ended up rogue parking during the night, as many vehicles had to park on the curb or along the driveway. Will recommend a visit."

"I really enjoyed my stay here. The room is small, but comfortable, the room was also cleaned every other day. The location is perfect, the restaurant downstairs had the best steak I’ve had in a while. It’s also close to balcon de Europa. I’d definitely stay again if I ever visit Nerja again."

"The apartments are lovely and contain everything you require , providing you don’t book with Tui , we had no code to enter the building and sat around outside waiting fir someone to let us in there is no reception here only an intercom once you gain access eventually we were let by a group of women , the phone number in the door cuts us off and it was after midnight , I had been assured by Tui and the appt web site that someone would be there …there isn’t there never this m also no travel courier visits either"
