Days Inn by Wyndham Norfolk Military Circle

Let me first say that when I usually read extremely negative reviews, I assume that person is hard to please and take it with a grain of salt. PLEASE READ and know that I have stayed in cheaper hotels before and made out just fine. However, THIS WAS A TRULY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. My husband and I pulled into this Days Inn on Saturday, June 12, around 11:55 p.m. When we entered the parking lot, there was a car sitting on jacks in front of the office. We checked in and drove around to park in front of our room, which was on the 5th floor. The elevator on one side of the hotel was broken, so we walked to the other side and took the elevator. We honestly did not think we would make it out of the elevator. It made loud noises, did not light up when you reached each floor, and sounded like it might break down at any moment. We walked to our room and when we entered, we were horrified. It smelled of stale cigarettes and urine. There were stains on every surface and we could barely breathe in the place. It certainly was not cleaned to COVID standards, much less cleaned at all. I AM NOT EXAGGERATING WHEN I SAY WE COULD NOT BREATHE IN THE ROOM. We immediately left, took the stairs which had used condoms on them, walked over the broken tiles and returned to our car. We checked out of the hotel a little after midnight and were at the hotel for a total of possibly 20 minutes. The night desk clerk informed us that we could call in the morning for a full refund. We drove around looking for another hotel, which were all fully booked, and were finally helped at a Spring Hill Suites in Norfolk (thankful for them). Needless to say, we have not received a refund. Days Inn has been EXTREMELY uncooperative, LIED to Trip.com and told them we were there for 6 hours, and refuse to refund our money. Trip.com is refunding 20% of our stay and have been very helpful to us. But instead of one reasonably priced hotel room, we paid for two. I IMPLORE YOU, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

This was a horrible place to stay. It was beyond dirty and the daytime staff was mean! None of the advertised amenities was available. There were many drunks or whatever pounding on our door every night.

I was placed in the no smoking room that had smoke in it burnt on the bedspread and was full of fleas. I have flea bites all over my body because there was some kind of animals in the room before I got there the room was half cleaned and the bathtub was dirty

This was one of the worst hotels I have stayed in EVER. None of the elevators were in service. The stairs to all levels were unsafe with the edges either missing, cracked, or literally lying on the ground in front of the steps. The fire extinguisher on our floor had been replaced with a can of pepsi, so thankfully there was no need to use an extinguisher while we were there. The safety lock on the inside of our door was missing entirely. There were bags and piles of trash on every landing between floors and the stairwells smell like urine. If this property cost $50/night I would have understood the conditions, but I paid $114/night and I'm so angry that I was swindled that way! Finally, all 3rd party booking sites still list that breakfast is included in the price of the room, but breakfast is no longer served and hasn't been for quite some time according to the hotel clerk. ******* should not be associated with this property. It is an absolute dump.

The front desk was busy but that’s to be expected due to the holiday. Overall the room was clean and comfortable. It’s not very updated and needs some TLC. But the most important things(cleanliness and comfort) were 100%.

Dirty dirty dirty!!!! From the outside to the inside of the room was terrible. Due to an emergency we had no choice but to spend a night here. Run do not walk by this place not worth your glance.

I came to Virginia for my grandmas funeral. This property was run down and honestly should not be offered on *******. We were placed in a “smoke free” room that reeked of stale smoke and had the smoke detector removed. The sheets and towels were stained, the lamp shade was broken. We felt so uncomfortable here that we had to leave and book a different hotel. Do not stay here.

There was no breakfast as advertised so i went out and bought a simple breakfast one morning, it made guests happy; otherwise all was well

Noise at all hours of the night. No security on the premises. Dead bugs in room, Keys not working…
