Tiba pagi hari, jadi hitung2 hanya numpang mandi saja krn harus kejar ferry tujuan ke bali. Saat di kamar mandi ternyata toiletnya ada pup sepertinya ada orang lain buang air besar tapi toilet tidak di flash. Padahal kamar yg di booking seharusnya semalaman kosong krn kami baru tiba pagi hari di penginapan.

benar² gak nyangka ada penginapan yang rasanya seperti rumah, nyaman & betah. sampai jumpa lagi BWI, terimakasih omah ulfah homestay 🙏

Ouf, what a hidden gem! The bungalows at Purwa Ijen are top-notch, offering an amazing value for money. It is located in a super authentic, small and peaceful village with beautiful views and lush vegetation (besides all the rice fields). Our highlight was the breakfast, where we got the best smoothie bowl on our whole trip through Indonesia. The Ijen tour (500K) was also an unbeatable price. Transfer to the Bali ferry for 200K was also affordable. We especially loved the spacious bathroom and the comfy terrace with jungle and ricefield view. IMHO Purwa Ijen is one of the best value accommodation you can find in the Ijen area, highly recommended. WiFi also worked like a breeze.

Our stay at this cabin-style hotel was a unique experience, with a few pros and cons worth noting. The cabins are very clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The concept itself is quite cool—each cabin blends technology and nature. Upon arrival, we were asked to download an app that controls everything: locking/unlocking the door, ordering food, communicating with staff, adjusting lighting, and controlling the window frosting. Inside the cabin, there’s also a built-in smart device that does the same, plus displays the weather, date, and even allows you to play music. The staff were incredibly friendly. When we mentioned we were cold, they brought extra bedding, which was much appreciated. Unfortunately, there were two major downsides. First, when we arrived late at night, we discovered there was no hot water—an especially unpleasant surprise since it was cold. There was no heating in the room either. The hotel sent an engineer to help, and by the next day we had hot water, but it was still limited. Second, while breakfast was included in our booking, we were disappointed to learn that coffee was not, and each person could only choose one meal from the menu. This wasn’t clearly communicated beforehand. The view from the cabin is stunning—you can see Mount Bromo right from your room. Sadly, the weather didn’t cooperate during our visit, so we couldn’t fully enjoy it. The food menu at the hotel is great, with several good options to choose from. This hotel offers a clean, innovative stay with beautiful views and excellent staff. However, clearer communication about included amenities and resolving issues like hot water availability would really elevate the overall experience. Thank you.

Delicious Indonesian Javanese food specially created by the host, May, as well as the level of dedicated service is the highlight of this hotel. The menu food sounds unappealing, but all 7 lunch and dinners were so good. You have to try the chicken satay, which is soft and has white clean meat. The tuna is melted and panini is so fresh. The spaghetti cakalang is her created recipe of smoked fish and spaghetti. Her tofu and Tempe must not be missed! Her tempong chicken is yummy and fresh! Feels like it's directly from the farm. Nasi goreng must not be missed! Papayas seem to be in the season. Fried bananas covered in coconut flakes are not to be missed! In this hotel, don't expect luxury cleanliness because there are a lot of insects (bees, butterflies, moths, grasshopper, flies), spiders, millipedes, lizards, even a gecko. If you want to stay in this rustic resort you have to be okay with them. I didn't like the insects stuff in the room but the hosts immediately sent their staff to deal with them. Staff are friendly just be patient with them because not all speak English. May was a super host, who gave ALL sorts of ideas on where to go, and how to go, and gives you contacts and numbers and details. Ibnu makes the best dirty latte in Banyuwangi, most probably. The hosts are very nice and go out of the way to make their guests welcome. They even dropped us at a nearby tour site, and also gave us a short walk to the beach nearby. This level of service is almost unbeatable. Staff are always ready and welcome to greet and smile at you. I think the Indonesian and Javanese meals are better than the breakfast menu. Breakfast pancake and American breakfast normal only. They generously dropped us off at Bangsring Underwater which was 3-5 mins away, which MUST NOT BE MISSED for snorkelling beginners! (But first check out if the season is good for snorkelling) If you stay here, be prepared there's not much in the area. And not much air-conditioned cafes or restaurant or shops nearby too. The family room has a breathtaking view of the mountains but because of the attic like structure, is prone to insects and lizards and stuff. It had a resident gecko. The deluxe suite room had a flat ceiling so lesser insects! + huge verandah for drying your clothes + pink bougainvillea. There are corn fields beside the hotel. They send food to your room if you don't want to eat in the restaurant which also has a amazing view. Restaurant has rustic vibes with antique candelabras (+ spiders).

We use this place every time we go to Ijen to do birdwatching for years. Room is ok with warm and good water pressure. They have western and local restaurant on site. The Western one was ok but the local restaurant is always a no and serve poor quality food, the warung can serve better Nasi goreng than in here. Some of the server in the local restaurant are lack of training.

The hotel is conveniently located near Kalibaru Station, providing easy access to Ketapang (for Bali) and Banyuwangi city (for the Ijen tour), just an hour by train. The hotel features its own dairy farm with fresh milk, and offers activities like spice and coffee plantation tours. For adventure seekers, the basecamp of Mount Raung is only 20 minutes away by car, with a hike that takes at least two days and one night. The swimming pool is large and clean, and the garden is well-maintained. The hotel has a good restaurant offering a variety of Indonesian and Western dishes. Wi-Fi is reliable, though the TV had no signal, and there was a brief power outage, quickly resolved with a backup generator. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Lokasi sangat dekat dengan stasiun ketapang dan pelabuhan Ketapang, toilet sempit namun kamar sangat lebar, kasur ada bau2 sedikit, lumayan worth it dengan harga kamar nya, thank you

Osing Bamboo resort was exactly what I needed while I relaxed in preparation for my Mt. Ijen hike. I only stayed one night but it really felt rejuvenating. They really have done an excellent job at nestling into such a beautiful spot in the jungle overseeing the river. Despite the rural setting, I found the bedding and amenities to be very clean and fresh. The staff was excellent at accommodating my requests for room service and other things. Food and lattes were delicious!!! Such excellent quality overall and a great deal too! If you’re in Banyuwangi just hanging out before or after your activities definitely stay here!
