„The hotel is old yet classic. Everything is in general well maintained, and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
The hotel may not be so accessible compared with those in Sannomiya, but the hotel offers shuttle bus to Sannomiya daily and Shin-Kobe on weekends. It helps you get around and go to the train stations. However, do note that the bus may be full sometimes. But even so or if you miss the bus, it won’t be long to walk to Kobe (Rapid and Special Rapid) or Motomachi (Rapid), depending on the train you need to take. I really like the view. Even the room not facing the sea has a nice view both during the day and night. The Meriken park is also just downstairs.
The hotel has a free self-service laundry and a Family Mart, but there are limited items to buy after 8 PM since no staff will be there. Another limitaiton is that the gym and the food service both close after 10 PM, if I recall correctly.”

„Book a female dorm room for 4 people, but I was alone so have the room for myself. The bed is futon style, a thin foam and then the futon mattress itself. We get a new white sheet upon check in. There's a thin full body mirror, small rack for suitcases and personal belongings, but if you need to, there's also safe box near staff room. The female dorm room is on the 2nd floor, next to the shared kitchen so you can kinda hear other guests cooking or working on their laptop with the wifi. You can have your coffe, tea, cup ramen and even light cooking is allowed as they provided the pans, and also some seasonings. The sink and the toilet is next to it, hairdryers are available and the toilet has bidet seat.
The shower room are on the b1f floor, which a little bit of hassle because you have to pass the staff room everytime. You can wash & dry you clothes too in the utility room next to it, but I dont know if they charge or not. Another kitchen and TV room is also here. Rental towels, bath robe, one time use shaver are also available.
Over all a pleasant place if you only looking to for a place to sleep, and wash your self. It's 5 minutes walk from Oishi station. There's a small river near too which also a nice place for a small walk.”

„The hotel room is very lovely. Do take advantage of the cheaper overnight parking at the hotel if you are driving. I parked elsewhere and the overnight parking fee is more than parking at the hotel. The breakfast buffet is simple but very delicious. The service is also very good. The hotel is also a participating hotel for the luggage delivery service. It saved me from the backaches of carrying the luggage by myself.”

„I wanted to get a hotel away from the city centre but near enough to head down. Glad to have found and stayed at Hotel Hewitt Koshien. Very near to Koshien train station and there’s a mall between the station and hotel. There’s also laundromat in the hotel (3 washer + dryer machines).
Hotel in-room amenities are more than sufficient and the service team can make up room daily upon request.
Hanshin Koshien stadium is also nearby where you can check out the museum too!
There’s also a Lawson outside the train station if you want to get drinks and snacks. Starbucks too for coffee!
There’s also a nice park around 2km away and I head down for my morning jog. Nice scenery and fresh air!”

„A bit out of the way to main attractions as it’s on Rokko island but the direct bus to the airport made it worthwhile. The breakfast was ok but seems to be always running out of food due to the high number of guests. In room service was decent but expensive. Onsite onsen was good but crowded!”

„Huge hotel with great facilities, but gym, sauna, onsen and pool have to be paid extra and at high prices. That left a very bitter aftertaste. The room was large but a bit dated and could be cleaned better.
The service at the reception could be nicer and speak better English. However, the rest of the service staff were extremely nice and helpful. Early check-in was possible free of charge.
The hotel is very close to Kobe airport, but only offers a shuttle service for the train stations. Why not also for the airport is somewhat questionable.”

GGośćWhat an amazing stay! It exceeded all expectations. The place is super nice with design interior, rooms are warm, spacious and comfortable. The whole place is modern, yet has a very traditional authentic feel and feels serene.
The staff is very attentive, caring and fulfills your every need - they make you feel welcome, and explain everything to you very well even if you are a foreigner, there was no problem communicating in english.
You are guaranteed 2 private stays in the private onsen spa of your chice - one in the evening and one in the morning, the time slots are more than enough to cover guest capacity and you have choice. The public onsen is pretty awesome too, although i felt so relaxed after private onsen for so long i went there just because of curiosity lol.
The dinner and breakfast are HUGE and are SUPER tasty. Excellent products and execution, it was my first time tasting a5 wagyu. I recommend you do not eat lunch before coming to the ryokan for dinner, maybe just breakfast or something small because you will want to eat everything in this amazing meal set. I still feel kind of full 1 day after checking out.
The hotel has nice common areas with free beverages, board games, ping pong ans some slot machines for entertainment. You can reserve karaoke room or get massaged in the automatic massage chairs. After we chcecked in at 3pm we did not need to go anywhere away from the hotel and just enjoyed our time there.
If you want to book very specific timeslots for the private spa come in at that 3pm, because people queue up 30 min before in the lobby. Although i felt this was not really necessarry because like i said, the capacity is calculated well and you are guaranteed 2 entramces with available time slots. The first time slot starts at 4pm and is in 1hr intervals - with 5 available onsens up until the night. Morning onsen had plenty of free slots.
They also offer free shuttle bus and it was always quick, we even called from public telephone in Arima when before checkin and had no problems arranging pickup in english.
What i wish is if they were a little bit more flexible with breakfast times, because you also reserve a time slot but it's not like it's a course meal but traditional breakfast + buffet and you have to decide at the check in, which is kind of soon to think about when you want to have morning meal, but it's not too big problem. I guess it is a way to prevent everyone rushing in 5 min before closing time like some people do. The breakfast has plenty of variety and you even get a preheated own grill!
Overall, we couldn't pick a better place for our visit in Arima, we are so relaxed and it was oje of the best places we have ever been to!

AAzy LiThe service was a little short of. I read reviews that they are very friendly but i felt that it’s not like this. I felt they were very curt in the way they speak and look tired. Nonetheless, the location was good. Just right at the side of the Chinatown. The hotel is very budget not matching to its price, considering that I’ve been to 4 hotels during my stay. The lights goes off quickly at the foyer. The water flow was small. But it’s ok, it’s eco-friendly i guess. The miso soup at breakfast was the yummiest. The carpark was expensive and they will charge you if you arrive early or leave the car at their carpark accordingly after the check in and out hours. This is understandable but this is where the hotel lost some sense of touch here.

MMairyOur stay in this hotel was great! I wish we stayed here longer than one evening.
Our traditional Japanese room was very spacious and had two separate toilet rooms attached as well as a bathroom. The view from our room was amazing! And sitting area before the huge windows even had a massage chair and a vanity. The shoji doors showed some signs of wear but everything were very clean.
Our kaiseki dinner was spectacular and incredibly tasty. But I wish there were some instructions for foreigners how to enjoy it properly. Our server didn't speak English and we didn't speak Japanese so there was a minor misunderstanding but everything was resolved 😅
I'm definitely a fan of such kind of a meal now!
We visited all the hot springs that are available in this hotel and it's sister hotel across the river. I liked the silver indoor spring in our hotel and gold outdoor spring in sister-hotel the most. Hot springs are closed after 24:00. And open from 6:00 to 9:00 nest morning. Unfortunately they are closed from 9:00 to 12:00(check out time) which make it impossible to enjoy them in the morning for those who prefer to sleep in((
Would definitely reccommend the stay for relaxing and luxurious experience.

GGośćHanamusubi Ryokan has been our favorite place when we plan our trip to Osaka region. We always book the same room with our private onsen so we can soak ourselves unlimited times a day while enjoying their cuisine both in the evenings and mornings in our room. Although we see some minor changes in their overall operation, their standards of service remain high and we couldn't be more satisfied during our last stay as well.

AAnonymous UserNot sure what has happened to Japan standard in the past couple of years but had called the hotel to confirm that linens are scent free (standard in Japan before) and was told yes. Unfortunately they are not, this new laundry detergent that is slowly spreading throughout Japan is absolutely horrible causing all sorts of allergic reactions (not only to me.) I start having rashes, compromised breathing, and inflammation issues. If it’s the same detergent used back in America, then it might be eco-friendly, but definitely not human friendly. I truly hope that Japan goes back to the way it was before the introduction of some western products filled with harmful chemicals to humans. It is not because you don’t react to it that it is not harming your body, it’s only a question of time and when it does, you won’t know why and there is no turning back. Take it from an Asian American born who was the biggest fan of American marketed products. We do have good products like ECOLAB, which is both, sustainable for the environment without compromising human health. Maybe laundry company should look into that company or simply return to Japanese products before. GGośćThis hotel is next to the ropeway to herb garden. There is a supermarket , train station and ¥100 shop within the same building. There is a 7-11 just outside (level 1). Parking is available at 8th floor for hotel guest chargeable at ¥1500 per night. Breakfast is fantastic - their curry , omelette and smoothie are their specialty. Highly recommend to stay at this hotel .

GGośćHotel service was good. Dinner and breakfast was provided as part of the stay. Food was good for the stay since there are not much options for food at Arima. Most shops are closed by afternoon. Though the hotel is old but it’s renovated (except for the old wooden cupboard) which made the stay more pleasant. Onsen is indoor and small so will need to go at hours with lesser people.

LlimmaysallyNajwygodniejsze łóżko, że ja mieszkam w Japonii przez ostatnie 2 miesiące. Szczęśliwie tu zostajemy przez 4 noce. Łóżko jest bardzo solidne, ale nie twarde, co jest dobre dla naszego pleców. Pokój jest bardzo czysty, a łazienka jest przestrzeniami, które mogę usiąść na wannie i prysznic. Byłoby idealnie, gdyby pokój był nieco większy. Za opłatą parking za 2000 za noc, która jest dla mnie zbyt wysokie, ale przedni desk młoda dama (****** dziewczyna), która była bardzo przyjazna i pomocna, polecił mi zaparkować mój samochód w pobliskim parkingu monety, który kosztował mnie na 800 przez 24 godziny. Dziękuję bardzo, panno Yu.
