Excellent resort, awesome property, staff behavior is excellent

Pathetic New year party (2023-2024) Very unorganised. Mostly Tamil music was being played. People were sitting on grass and eating food as if this was a picnic and not a party. Drunk people were sleeping on the grass..This was supposed to be unlimited food and drinks. Only two varieties of food - chicken and rice were being served and that too in small plate. When asked, staff said big plates are over and only small plates were available. Alcohol was being served as if this was free. No security. Rowdy crowd. Bouncers were there but not able to control the rowdy crowd. Not worth the money spent. Absolutely waste ! AVOID attending New Year party here.Instead go somewhere better

I checked into Ashok resort - Pondicherry yesterday and checked out today.. Would like to alert the potential customers that this resorts serves food and tea made out of expired products - like powder milk , aerated drinks , coffee puches etc.. sample picture attached I had produced the evidence to the Hotel staff and spoke to the GM - Mr.Trimurthy who has been apologetic , as any other person , with out any choice . This is not the resort to check in and there is no value for the money spent with the property being so old and dilapidated.. insensitive and careless staff . I lost my money and am going to take a legal course of action on this resort as I have adequate evidence to prove my case

My stay at this hotel was a nightmare. It's a government hotel and not a private property. Don't trust the pictures. Room are very shady and not clean at all The room was poorly maintained with worn-out fittings and uncomfortable beds. Few lights won't work, taps and all don't function, the ***ager are unethical and not well ***nered, GENERAL ***AGER is still a decent guy (but always bzy and a guest safety and concern is not his priority) To make things worse, I had cash stolen from my wallet and beer bottles stolen from my fridge during my stay. When i asked them that this has happened ...they bluntly and rudely said ...we are also government employee u go and do police complaint , we will ***age the police ....i was shocked to know this To worsen the situation, as soon as we went to the reception to checkout, they made us sir ...i thought they will talk about this and we will close the issue, instead i see cops and both the GM and ***ager went off and made me sit with police all the time during checkout. They only called police and forced me to give my written complain now, giving complaint was my choice and they can't put guests into this trouble... However my only ask esk to make sure that the safety of future guests is taken care was the safety of guests (that's it) , but instead they called cops and put customer into such a trouble during a holiday who would want this trouble , police inquired us more than the staff ...only we were question and not the hotel staff , other hotels would have given comfort to guest and resolved things professionally , this ***ager (***ager MURUGAN was too rude and very unprofessional) instead called police and made scene out of such a petty issue of few thousand bucks and a beer bottle and The ***agement was unhelpful and unprofessional, displaying rude behavior and a complete lack of concern for my safety and well-being. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel and suggest the ***agement take immediate steps to improve their security measures and staff training. Also, please note on below There are too ***y rules at the property, the food is pathetic , pool is not clean and worst part the beach is allowed to be accessed only till 6.30 pm (the sunset starts at 5.30 and than u r asked to rush back to the property before 6.30) Rooms are very shady, they are not maintained. You will be scared to speak to the ***agers during your stay, all your asks would be rudely answered . I had seen reaction of so ***y guests talking about rude ***agers and staff Don't buy this beach view and all....apart from beach everything else is bad and the property is very far from city centre and ***ior tourist spots almost 21 kms (takes around 40 mints by car)

Since this is a government ***aged hotel, the administration staff is lazy and rude. We lost some eatables and money from our room which was stolen by hotel cleaning staff. We called the police and lodged a complaint, the staff admitted to stealing and was left with a warning. Since he is employed in this hotel since 20+ years, i am sure this is not the first time he would have stolen from rooms while cleaning. I was absolutely shell shocked since this is the first time i lost my stuff while traveling that too from my very own hotel room. The staff at reception was very rude while dealing with our issue. The hotel was also not very clean, the fittings in the bathroom were rusted, the showers have green algae and you could see fungal spores as well. The only benefit is the beach proximity. But if you are not treated with respect and have a high probability of losing the stuff then what is the point of crying on a beach.

Location: 20m from airport Beach: super clean beach nearby with wonderful access. Loved it. Pool; Good, but needs maintenance. Staff: very good folks. Defn recommend for family visit Cons: Maintenance is ok/ property is a bit worn out and needs to be spruced up. Access: difficult for wheelchair and mobility restricted people. Biggest drawback. Restaurant: Good food but very understaffed.

The hotel is in a very good spot and the property is huge with a lot of scope to be an amazing spot. However, the maintenance is at it's worst so do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs. I wouldn't go back even if someone offered me a free stay here. The good part was the beach, the pool, the lawn and the complementary breakfast which was fine. I paid 24000 for 3 rooms and an extra bed and i feel robbed, it was not even worth 1/4th of what I paid. More details to help you decide not to go here: 1. Cockroaches and other insects flying in the hallway 2. Either the fan or the AC or the taps won't work in any room you get 3. Water drips from the ACs in all the rooms 4. The rooms on the first floor have a balcony overlooking the beach which was something I looked forward to but the trees outside the room where unkempt so all we saw were leaves even though there was a beautiful beach beyond 5. The bar has crow poop all over the table, the chairs and the drinking glasses. 6. Security is also an issue. Any outsider can walk into the bar and into the stay area as well. No one will know a thing. I don't remember seeing any cctv cameras around. Zero intention or interest by the ***agement to take efforts to offer a better stay. They just want to make money. I booked based on a few decent reviews and gave the place a benefit of doubt since I was booking last minute and had no other option. Now I regret and wish I just stayed home. I hope this review puts some of you off and saves you some bucks.

We would’ve had a pleasant stay if the resort had informed us that a gathering of 200+ employees will be at the resort during the whole duration of our stay. they were so noisy and we didn’t get to experience an atmosphere of peace or tranquility. they shouldn’t take bookings for families who come to spend some quality time at the beach when they’re hosting these kind of events. or even if so atleast keep the guests informed of such an event. although the hotel staff at the restaurant were cooperative and helpful and the rooms were tidy and comfortable. but overall it wasn’t the best stay.

We took 2 sea facing rooms The property is 10 kms from promenade and other main attractions of white town. Chunambar boat house is 30 mns from this property. Room and linen were clean but staff is rude and doesn't respond well. It's a overpriced property, food options obviously very limited in buffet and very slow service. I suggest to look out for other options around chinakalapet.
