Zatknięty wewnątrz francuskiego kwartału na Rue de Bussy, zaledwie krótki spacer z promenady Bengalskiej, nieruchomość niesie się z cichym zaufaniem wysokie sufity, łukowe drzwi, Głębokie weranda i meble okresowe, które natychmiast przenoszą cię do innej epoki. Mój pokój był wspaniały przestronny, elegancki i przemyślane. Wszystko działało pięknie: silne klimatyzacje, duże ciśnienie wody, wygodne łóżka i łazienki, które mieszają nowoczesny komfort z starego świata uroku. Czuje się nostalgiczne bez poświęcania kreaturalnych komfortów, które sprawiają, że podróż jest przyjemna. Restauracja była doskonała wyrafinowana, ale relaksowana i pracownicy byli po prostu fantastyczni. Ciepło, uważne i prawdziwie miły. Rodzaj gościnności, który jasno świeci dzień i przypomina Ci, dlaczego wielkie hotele są naprawdę o ludziach. Ayurveda spa jest kolejnym spektaklem. Po długim dniu zwiedzania Białego Miasta, zanurzenie w jednym z ich ziołowych terapii jest czyste błogosławieństwo rodzaj doświadczenia, które odwraca ciało i umysł. Krótko mówiąc, Palais de Mahe jest niezapomnianym dziedzictwem pobyt intymny, duszny i pełen charakteru. Czas kapsułka w sercu Pondicherry. Byłbym absolutnie z powrotem."

"Room and value for money was great! Very clean and air conditioned rooms in a great location near the board walk. Every staff member was courteous and went out of their way for you. (Shout out to Stephan! Great guy!) Food was absolutely delightful, the bakery downstairs along with the top floor restaurant were so lovely, clean and delicious. The manager is the reason for the lower review. Solo female travellers stay away. He was very inappropriate to my partner. asking her when she would be getting in the pool, asking when she’d go for a drink with him and what time she’d be back at. When waiting in the lobby for the rest of the group to arrive, he’d purposely sit beside the women. Bragging about having 2 girlfriends and a wife. Women seemed like a commodity to him. Overall great but beware female travellers."

"We had a great time at La Villa and were so well looked after by the friendly and professional staff. Particular thanks go to Raji and Anil who went out of their way to make arrangements for us and check in on our stay. Props also to Divya, Sonali and Kit who were constantly friendly faces. The architecture and environment of the hotel are delightful. The garden restaurant is a an oasis within the busy surrounding streets and the villa itself is very pretty and beautifully restored. We stayed on the roof in 'Bridge To Heaven' - one of the most impressive hotel rooms we have ever experienced. A timber and glass box built on top of the villa gives you floor-to-ceiling light coming in from all four sides, making it super airy and very spacious. The flip side of this is that you are very connected to the outside world, for better or worse - vocal birds, the beeping of traffic, the crash of thunder and heavy rain - but that's Pondicherry! It was still a very relaxing place to be - perfectly clean and with a great minibar refreshed every day with lots of water, some beer and some not bad Indian wine. We enjoyed cooling off in the modestly-sized but very private pool, which is open 8am until midnight so you can cool off midday or go for a late night dip. The restaurant has a very ambitious French colonial menu with lots of vertical foods and foam - pretty delicious! As Brits we were quite overheated most of the time though and the rich French food here and in many of the restaurants in White Town was a bit too much for us - however the staff at La Villa were ready with lots of fantastic recommendations for South Indian cuisine so it was easy to eat well whether staying at the hotel or venturing out. We would highly recommend La Villa for anyone looking for a modern French colonial sanctuary in bustling Pondicherry."
