Casa del Lago Lodging House

Puerto Ayora|Tortuga Bay w odległości 2.86km
The place is located in a decent spot in the Puerto Ayora town, and the room I had (Cucuve) had everything as described. Towels changed every day was a nice bonus. Cucuve is a small room, not much space for anything beyond a bed. As for the cons, there's multiple, which would have probably stopped me from choosing this place compared to everything else. 1. Deceptive pricing - I booked online through their own provided Cloudbeds website, and was quoted 74 dollars a night. Upon arrival, I find that they ”accept” credit cards, but tack on an additional 10 dollar fee per night, bringing me to 84 a night. This is completely unknown until you get there. 2. Lack of provided water - After paying 84 a night, you are provided around 1 liter of water in a carafe, but are expected to go get your own. I can understand if this was a budget hostel, but once again. 3. No breakfast included despite clearly advertising it - I booked through their own cloudbeds website, which clearly states free american breakfast. However, upon arrival, Elena told me breakfast was not included and said that I paid a lower rate and don't get breakfast included as a result. There's some benefits to this place, but my experience overall was thrown off by the increases in rates and lack of amenities that would have made me chosen an entirely different place overall. Would not choose again as a solo traveler, maybe if you had a family and wanted to a kitchen, but even then, you're better off finding another place that has a kitchen and provides water and breakfast.

Hotel Ninfa

Puerto Ayora|Tortuga Bay w odległości 2.94km
I had stayed at the Hotel Ninfa before. It is centrally located, close to the ATM's, the town centre and the local dive shops including Academy Bay which we used. In planning the trip for the club, I decided to use this hotel again as our base for the reasons set out above. The hotel is very welcoming and friendly. Since my last trip, the hotel has undertaken a significant refurbishment to the breakfast area. On a par with other hotels I have stayed in.There was a wide selection for breakfast and you can also have it cooked fresh to order. The garden, bar area and the pool side are well maintained and a great place to relax after a dive, early evening and prior to popping out to any of the restaurants close by, either along Charles Darwin Avenue or there is a great street close by which has the tables on the road - the fish there is superb. I have noted some of the comments posted by others which I think are somewhat unfair when the experience is taken in the round. Yes, some of the rooms might need an upgrade but they were comfortable enough for our purpose. I am sure that the hotel management has this in hand, if the breakfast area is anything to go by. The only observation that I would make is in relation to the wifi within the hotel which can be challenging at times if you need to use it. Something for the hotel team to think about. But then, who needs a phone if you are diving each day/taking day trips or excursions - chance to leave it on silence perhaps. Thanks again Hotel Ninfa for your kind hospitality

Capitan Max B&B

Puerto Ayora|Tortuga Bay w odległości 2.97km
We (me, my wife and our 5Y old daughter) stayed in Capitan Max B&B for five nights and it was literally perfect - best lodging experience in Ecuador hands down. After booking the room one of the hosts (Lourdes) contacted me and shared all the information I needed when arriving in Galapagos and she also offered a selection of tours we could take once on the islands. We booked two day tours and one tour on the island through them (incl. pick-up from the airport) and with her suggestions, we were able to see exactly what we came there for. The tours were done by respectable companies, everything went very smoothly and the pricing was fair. So I would definitely suggest organizing your day trips through them as well, no need to waste your time searching online or on the main street, you probably won't get a better offer. When we arrived, we were greeted and taken care of by the friendliest guy you ever meet - mr Pedro. He had some very good tips on the Santa Cruz island hotspots and how to get around town, he made a delicious breakfast, helped us with all the questions and even let us use his personal computer so we could participate on our parliamentary elections! Thank you so much! The room was clean and very nice, the hammock in a room was of course the instant favorite of our girl. The cleaning lady was placing her dolls in different places every day after she cleaned the room so every time we arrived from our day trip or a hike, our daughter could not wait to see where her dolls are this time. It was a nice game and it showed that all of the staff added something extra to our experience. B&B is situated just a few blocks (minutes) from marina and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby so you could not find a better spot to stay in Puerto Ayora. And you should also check out a little lagoon that is just around the corner - we were able to see sea turtles, seals and a lot of fish swimming there and the birdlife was also nice. So all of this review is a big praise to Capitan Max B&B and I feel it is justified. My regular reviews are not that exuberant but this time there literally was nothing they could have done better. They exceeded our expectations in many ways and made our Galapagos trip very memorable. When we talk about our trip then besides all the fantastic highlights of the nature that the archipelago offers, we always mention our lodging. So if you are going to stay in Puerto Ayora for some nights, then the only excuse why you should not stay in Capitan Max B&B is that they are fully booked on these dates.

Although the room is not big, it is very clean, the roof terrace is particularly good, the service is very thoughtful, the plug of the mobile phone charger is wrong, the waiter borrowed it for one night, thank you!

Hotel Coloma Galapagos

The hotel is quite satisfactory. The service from the front desk girl is very enthusiastic and her English is also good. A meal to introduce surrounding attractions and entertainment projects. Can help introduce travel agencies. The prices and services are relatively reliable. The hotel environment is very style, and it is very comfortable to stay in the small courtyard. The only flaw is that the room is average. More like the standard of domestic three-star hotel. But very clean. The hotel includes breakfast. Every morning, I will serve you directly without repetitive dishes. very satisfied.
Hostal Espana
3.8/522 opinii
Espana is centrally located in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz, Galapagos, close to bars, restaurants, shops, waterfront, pharmacies and medical facilities. I booked tours through the hotel which worked out very well, and the hotel suggested that I do the Santa Cruz Highlands tour (including El Chato Tortoise Reserve) en route from the airport as a combined transfer/tour. This was a great suggestion as you basically drive through the highlands coming from the airport anyway. Breakfast was included and delivered to my table each morning. On one morning, I had a boat trip to Bartolome island booked (on board schooner Nautilus - highly recommended), and the hotel receptionist met me at the hotel at 5:45am and walked me to the pickup location with her dogs. Wifi is terrible - as it is everywhere on the island (I tried every bar I was in) - can't even upload one photo! But its not the hotel, it's the whole island. Very happy with the experience overall. Hotels can be expensive here - not a bad spot to reign in the budget and splurge back on the mainland.
