We have spent two nights at Sheraton in Colonia. We went mainly because it was one of the few places with spa/bigger pools. That part was nice and more or less clean (some tiles missing - some dirt in the pools but not too much). The deck chairs on the other hand were very dirty and all in all the place around the pool wasn't clean - it looked like it hasn't been cleaned for several days and the same dirt was by the pool the day after. The worst part was the room - the view was astonishing but the room was really old, dirty and not very well taken care of. The whole hotel wasn't really taken good care of, just the entrance and the outside were OK. The breakfast was special: The food that needed cooling (cheese, butter and so) were chilled with a fan (30 degrees outside - a fan only throws around hot air) - so the butter was melt and the cheese even had mould on it. We only ate dinner there once - the food was OK but also here the glasses weren't really clean and the tablecloth had weird stains and dirty on it. One thing that stood out was that the staff only spoke Spanish – no English nor Portuguese or any other language. So, all and all it was a disappoin**ent - I expected more from a Sheraton! I have been to hotels with less ”hotel stars” that were way cleaner, newer and really taken care of. Here it just seems like they don't care.
