The location is just by the gate to the old town, so everything is nearby, but the main road is so noisy, even at night, that you can't sleep with the window open. The air-conditioning has a low of about 22 degrees. Lower than that and it doesn't turn on. I didn't find that it cooled the room a lot, but my room never got the direct sun, so it was bearable. I think it could be a lot better for the money. The balcony is tiny and has no washing line for wet clothes. The TV isn't tuned. The breakfast is ok, but the first morning I came down at about 8am and struggled to find butter, chopped fruit, yoghurt... The electricity only works in the room when you put the key in, which means that the fridge doesn't work when you are out, and as a result you can't keep anything cool. It isn't cold enough to chill a bottle of water overnight, even after I asked then to take a look at it. And the fridge itself is so small that you can't put more than one half-litre bottle of water in! The staff are unaware of their city. They raise eyebrows when you say you want to visit a site they've never heard of, they can't recommend any restaurants ("I don't eat in restaurants") or tours ("I don't know about any dance nights") and are generally not very helpful.

This is my second time to visit Creta and Rethymno. The feeling is great, beautiful nature and beaches, polite and kind local people, nice food and restaurants and many more… Hotel Brascos is great, best food, location and so kind & helpfull staff. I must distinguish girl from reception and kitchen, her name is Christina. She is so polite, kind and helpfull at any question and help that we need… She was good presenter of hotel, Rethymno city and Cretan’s culture and I think she will be good manager in the future! Best Regards for her, and all other stuff in Hotel!

This hotel is good enough for what you pay.It is in the centre of the city.Staff is smily and very helpful,nice roof bar,and good coffee.I recommend it for 3-4 nights so you can walk the city and be near to your hotel.

Hotel is very old and do not deserve 3*, it is 1* Hotel. We were there in July 2021 and in the season peak, they were in middle of renovation! Only selling point, roof bar, was for sure closed. It is terably noisy and you literally cannot sleep with window opened. Stairs are ver dangerous, I slipped twice during 1 day and almost seriously hurt myself. Room is terrible and maybe deserves 1*, maybe. Also this hotel has rude and unprofessional owner, that is also liar nby the way. Lie is that renovation is done (30.06.21) but 1 month after it is still ongoing, pictures to be uploaded. Do not go there

Good hotel for just a night, nothing special, small bathrooms, small balconies and the rooms look like ship cabins, not decorated at all, what a pity. You can't also sleep easily because of traffic noises. Oh and the bed was making sounds. Not good.

There were three of us adults. They give us small room on the first floor where we could not move, not to mention problem with our luggage and traffic noise. We asked our room to be changed which they did. We paid Half board with buffet service. In the hotel they used current situation with Covid 19, and served us A la Carte, but not according to a menu because they served us what they wanted. The meal was almost the same every day, breakfast was terrible. Furniture is old, and hotel was under reconstruction. The maid changes the bed linen every third day, then she cleans the room. Personnel was helpful, and they were aware on a quality of food they are serving.

We're a couple and we stayed there 2 weeks ago. Although the stuff tried to be polite, there were many downsides to our staying. First of all roof Cafe-bar was closed to renovation (during hot season?! And no one told us beforehand) and that led to three problems, one was that the room TV wasn't getting any signal cause of the antenna misplacement from the renovation, secondly the pool was under that construction site, so the water was full of garbage and dirt and thirdly we woke up the next morning due to the construction work right outside of our window. Other than that, the hotel is really old and the windows had no noise reduction to the outside main street (with traffic during the day). There is no air-condition but instead it offers a ventilation which was very noisy and the control was on the wall near the entrance door, so you'd have to get up to go turn it on/off. Also there were some broken tiles in the bathroom and the fridge was so old that it never managed to make our water bottles cold. The mattress was so worn out that we could feel the springs popping when we were moving... Only advantage was the location...

Moin, von Außen sah das Hotel modern aus (3Sterne). Das Zimmer hat jedoch kein Stern verdient. Ich hatte das Zimmer 107 direkt über den Eingang (Die Zimmer in den höherern Stockwerten haben einen kleinen Balkon). Durch die Hauptstraße war der Autolärm sehr störend. Die Matratzen waren zwar neu, aber extrem weich, so das ich die Matratze auf den Boden gelegt habe. In das Bad ist man kaum hineingekommen, da die Tür gegen das Waschbecken schlug. Die Dachterrasse war auch geschlossen. Das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis hat nicht gestimmt. Ich werde nicht wieder kommen. Ob die Zimmer in den obereren Stockwerten besser sind, kann ich nicht sagen.
