Can't beat the location. Views from the balcony was stunning. Clean, safe, no frills. Staff were really really nice and helpful. What a great start to my holidays. Oh, and not too far from Oistens Fish Fry.

I had an amazing stay at South Gap Hotel. Zero complaints. The hotel is nice and modern. All the rooms have a breathtaking view of the ocean and the pool deck. The rooms also have a kitchenette and a full size refrigerator which is convenient. My room was cleaned daily and replenished with toiletries and new towels. The staff is very nice, helpful, and accommodating even prior to my trip as I had a few special requests. The hotel staff also assisted with airport transportation. The restaurant located on the lower level of the hotel wasn’t like your typical hotel restaurant. It was very good and the drinks were great. Although it isn’t an all inclusive, the food is very affordable. The hotel also provides a voucher for a welcome drink and a 10% off voucher for dinner nightly which can also be used at their sister restaurant a short distance away. The hotel is located in the heart of numerous restaurants and bars. The beach is also a short walk from the hotel. The hotel met all my expectations.

We stayed at Time Out Hotel from 20/11 for 2 weeks. Reviews were quite mixed, however we had no reason to worry at all. We booked a pool view room as reviews had stated this was a bit quieter than rooms by the bar. We arrived at the hotel about 2pm and our room wasn't ready, so we put our case in the luggage room got changed and went to the pool. Our room 317 was ready by 4pm and had a lovely pool view. Our room was immaculately clean , bright, 2 comfortable queen beds, plenty of storage, great bathroom with walk in shower, fridge, tea and coffee and great AC. Great balcony which was always in the shade. You could hear some noise from the bar, however the music wasn't on late and it didn't disturb us at all. We found the staff at the hotel to be very helpful and friendly. Pool area was great and no problem getting a bed. Pool towels were an added bonus. As you come out of the hotel Dover beach is just over the road which was lovely. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. We loved everywhere that we ate, food was gorgeous and of course fresh fish amazing. We would definitely stay here again.

Nothing like the advertised pictures, no staff working after 9pm, just a security guard who has more responsibility than time to attend to issues. Came back to find cleaners using our room for their lunch break. The manager was snotty. We had travelled with friends who stayed in a hotel nearby who for less money got a whole lot more.

The hotel is located on st Lawrence gap which has a few clubs and restaurants. It can get quite noisy at night. If you opt for the sea view apartment you are less likely to hear the club on the opposite side of the road. The room itself is great, there is a kitchen where you can cook your breakfast and make tea, a working tap, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave. The balcony and the view is lovely. Woke up each morning looking out onto the blue water and blue skies! I went with my friend and so we had a double bed each which is very comfortable. The shower is a bit slow with water but if you run it for 3-4 minutes the water will get warm. We didn’t opt for the breakfast so cannot comment on what the food is like. Overall positive, my only complaint is beware when ordering taxi they quote in US dollars and not Barbadian dollars. The female receptionist misled me despite me asking her twice is the price quoted Barbadian dollar and she said yes. Then when we finished the taxi ride we were told it was in US dollar and not Barbadian dollars. I think that is a fundamental error by the receptionist and cost me unnecessarily. For that the hotel did not deserve a 5 star. In terms of location it is good but expect noise as you are directly opposite a nightclub called halo that is very noisy at the weekends especially the dj and his microphone shouting into it. The island is very small so everything is not far. It is worth hiring a car to get around the island otherwise the taxi fare will be expensive. A taxi fare from at Lawrence gap to the north of the island would cost you 120 Barbadian dollars one way. The hotel has a nice outdoor swimming pool and private chill out area and a restaurant to order drinks. Would I stay here again? Yes I think i would stay here again.

I'm not sure why this hotel gets such terrible reviews. We thought it was brilliant! The staff were always friendly towards us. The room was clean and tidy (and cleaned daily during our stay) with plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. The shower was hot and powerful at all times and the bathroom had toiletries and a hairdryer. Our room was in a quiet block within the hotel complex and we rarely heard a sound from other rooms. The pool looked lovely although we didn't swim in it because they had sun beds up on a raised part of the the pool which overlooked a stunning beach and the sea. There's a little cut-through to the beach at the end of the pool area and there was always plenty of beds available around the pool. The bar was great - they had some good snacks available and twice daily happy hour for drinks. And the hotel was close to a number of bars and restaurants and about a 20 minute walk to the Gap. My only small issue was that the hotel charged for the use of the room safe. It was only 3 Barbados dollars per day, but still I don't think guests should have to pay for a safe in this day and age. We stayed for seven nights at The Dover Beach Hotel and won't hesitate to stay again when we return to Barbados in the future. Thank you for a fantastic holiday.

We booked the Hilton Resort as it was ranked highly, however it was not to our expectations. Firstly I will start off by giving full credit to the hardworking staff who worked very hard with the limited resources they have and tried their very best to make the stay comfortable for customers. The staff at the entrance meeting / greeting, reception area, restaurants, pool area and house keeping service staff deserve full credit. I had to rate the stay as 2 out of 5 simply due to the management decisions. We found the following issues during our stay, as listed below: 1) We understand that nature produces sea ****s, and there is no control of sea ****s gathering on the beach perimeter with the waves. However, there was no process or maintenance in place to run a tractor every morning to gather the sea ****s and litter from the sand on a daily basis. You find other hotels in the Carribbean (my recent trip to St Lucia) where hotels maintain their beach area early hours in the morning ready for customers. This is supposed to be Hilton (a worldwide known brand). The beach standard was the biggest disappointment for us. 2) No variety of food on the menu. Some of the restaurants were closed due to the season. We actually got bored with the menu as it was the same things to eat and in my opinion very expensive. We saw other customers ordering take away from external restaurants, which was very surprising, maybe they felt the same. We also explored the option and found that more variety is available externally and the price of food is significantly less than what your hotel offers. We actually ordered pizza and snacks externally with delivery service and it worked out to be an excellent deal. 3) There was 3 of us (2 adults and 1 infant) and we were only offered 3 very small bottles of water to last us a day. We then requested for 6 large bottles of water and we were charged a rate of around 11 BBD each which equates to around £4.73, so in total we spent £28.38 on water!!! Water is a necessity of life and we were charged a silly amount, not forgetting the bottles we purchased during dinner. Sounds embarrassing but we should have purchased a multi pack of water bottles from Lidl or Tesco in the UK which would have cost us less than £10 and bought that with us in our check-in luggage. 4) There is something wrong with the lifts. There are a total of 4 lifts, and only 2 appear to work. It takes ages to wait for a lift. Again something small as this can become frustrating if you need to use the lift a few times a day. 5) The room Fridge door did not close properly as the gasket seemed to be worn. 6) No kettle in the room. We needed to boil some hot water. This is basic equipment expected in a hotel room. 7) No microwave available to heat food. If the hotel cannot provide a microwave in each room, then maybe the cost effective to install a couple of microwaves in the same room you offer self service ice to customers. Service is average. Rooms are great. Food is very average. Breakfast is average. Beach is great.

Very good location and a quick check in. Very good WiFi. Breakfast overpriced at $20. However, good value for money for Barbados.

This hotel was exactly what we needed. From the beginning the service over the telephone was outstanding. Everyone was super helpful and kind over the phone. A special mention to Graham who arranged our taxi with Colin aka Taximan 246. Colin was right on time and took us safely to and from the airport. He was an amazing driver. We even hired him for other occasions. The staff in general was always wearing a smile and let me tell you CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. The rooms were spotless and bed was comfortable. We were right on the Gap which made moving around even easier. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that isn't looking for luxury but is just needing a very warm clean reasonably priced accommodation in Barbados and on the St Lawrence Gap.
