Great location in the Gaslamp District. The hotel is charming as a renovation from the past, especially the balconies overlooking the courtyard and the wooden staircase up to the rooms. The room itself was adequate. Plastic drinking cups felt really low-end and the mattress wasn't as firm as I would have hoped for. But the price was better than others places in that area and the staff was very friendly. We appreciated the vouchers for drinks at the Salt and Whiskey and feasted on the bar's excellent fries.

We like small, eclectic hotels that are clean, staff that's helpful and friendly and unique decor. Location and restaurant were ideal.

I felt very safe in the downtown area and there was restaurants and shopping within walking distance even a grocery store

A very nicely appointed historic hotel in the Gaslamp District. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Centrally located in the historic part of San Diego.

Loved everything except the Valet parking at $54.00 per night. Parkade close should have used it

The location was great and close to tons of restaurant and bar options, we stayed here for an event at Petco which was less than a 10-minute walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the overall vibe of the hotel does not begin to compare with any chain hotel. Would definitely stay again.

This is a VERY nice place to stay. Rooms and beds are quite comfortable and reasonably spacious. Ours had a gas fireplace as well. Staff was VERY friendly and we felt very welcome. Will always targe this hotel if we stay in downtown San Diego.

Excellent stay-loved the hotel (stayed on top/4th floor) lots of character and uniqueness. Make sure to check out the elevator with the ‘cut out’ “rooms” Great front desk experience.
