This property is truly inspiring. The photos cannot and do not do it justice. The entire resort seemingly floats over a sea of green mangrove that makes you feel like you're a part of the natural ecosystem. The restaurants are phenomenal and the massage services at the spa are pure bliss. My suite came with a butler, Carlos, who took the time to learn what my father and I liked, did not like, our daily routine, etc. They ensured our morning coffee orders for the next day were pre-scheduled before leaving for the day. They picked up and dropped off shirts that needed pressing. They noticed so many minor details that truly made such a difference over the course of a week-long stay! I cannot thank Carlos enough for making our trip so seamless. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a quiet/rejuvenate retreat free of the chaos of "all inclusive" partygoers or large families.

We stayed 6 nights with our two daughters who are in their mid-20s. It is a beautiful hotel and only has 120 rooms so it is not crazy busy like the giant ones closer to Cancun. That said at some points it did seem a bit sleepy as most of the rooms were taken by a conference who were doing their own events separate from the restaurant. The hotel has basically been open a year and we really enjoyed it and would recommend it, but they have a few kinks to work out. Here are our pros/cons. I know the cons are longer than the pros but we really did enjoy the hotel so I write these for the management to see the issues and address them rather than complain as most were relatively minor things. Pros: beautiful modern design honoring the Mayan culture. It sits on over 2000 columns on top of the mangroves. There are great sightlines and views from almost everywhere. They use a lot of water features and plants all over the hotel to create a great vibe. The rooms were beautiful with modern layout and great views of the pool and beach area. The pool areas were very well designed with infinity edges facing the beach. They had lots of comfy lounge chairs and poolside beds and the drink/food service was super attentive/fast/nice. Also every hour or so the pool staff would bring around free food surprises - small smoothie shots, fresh juice popsicles, etc. In terms of activities, the hotel offers several interesting classes each day (salsa making, beer tasting, cocktail making, hand painting, guac making, etc.) and almost all the ones we went to were well done. The breakfast buffet is solid (not amazing as other places in playa but very good) and we had excellent service during breakfast — never having our coffee cups go empty or our used plates sit for more than a minute. The bar was nice and they had a champagne sabering each night like all St. Regis hotels. The bartenders were good and so were the drinks, Cons: We are quite used to resort price up charges having travelled to 5-star hotels all over the world but the St. Regis seemed over the top expensive - for example we had to buy a bottle of Sun Bum sunscreen and it cost $48 vs $18 on Amazon. I get that they’re going to up-charge things like that in a hotel but 3X is too much. The same was true for drinks. We appreciated that they provide you a “butler” during your stay to coordinate everything for you but we had two issues with it 1. They did not tell us about it ahead of time or the fact that they communicate via What’s App so we tried to download it on the spot but couldn’t create an account (probably some security feature about creating an account outside your home territory?) so then we had to try and communicate via Apple messages, 2. Our butler was attentive about some things (telling us he was going home that night) but not about replying to some requests… and isn’t that the whole point of having him? This is an amazing resort. We had an unforgettable five days at the St.Regis, Kanai. The setting is perfect, with it's jaw dropping architecture, incredible food and a staff that is second to none. The breakfast buffet at Chaya was incredible. Food locally sourced, pancoles, tacos, habanera sauce, the freshest fruit ... Chef Moises and his team have set the bar incredibly high. From our maid Eva (244) to Ismael and his "office" on the beach. All the staff were incredibly friendly and courteous. We tried the coffee tasting with Adam,among several activities available, and enjoyed the amazing gym. Altogether an incredible experience.

I have the opportunity to visit this resort for five days and was not disappointed. After visiting multiple Saint Regis properties including one in PuntaMita I had high expectations. This property it's just over one years old and while new still has some opportunities for growth but overall did a wonderful job. The transportation from the airport was seamless and took about 35 to 40 minutes. The Butler Carlos was attentive and just very genuine and friendly. The first day we did have a hiccup at the beach club with extremely long service, but I brought it to attention of the manager Ayrem and the remainder of the stay was perfect. The rooms are spacious, very clean and the property is beautiful. On-site dining is wonderful, including the superior breakfast with more offerings than I've ever seen. Dining at Toro was the best but the food on the beach is good especially if you use the Riviera beach club menu. Housekeeping was great too. The property should do a better job of marketing, the daily saber ceremony and the food and service at the St. Regis bar. UnDiscoveredJem. They also need to offer "French pressed"coffee as a part of the offerings like other properties but i appreciated the 4 pieces per day complimentary ironing. Guests should be aware that there are multiple beach club menus to choose from. Reservations at SOOL were great, especially since you can bIil directly to your room at the St Regis. It's probably faster to walk to that restaurant down the beach because the walk from the addition to the restaurant is a bit long. The service at St. Regis was SPLENDID due to a few people that we have to mention. They gave me a card, but I should be giving them a card in recognition of their awesome customer service. Marcos, Virgilio, Ayrem, Wilian, Ivan and Cindy at bar restaurant and Guadalupe at restaurant works harder than anyone weve encountered! They made our stay rememberable and recovered from the early failure that we had. These people were so genuine. I will never forget them and plan to return in July with the rest of the family. Beautiful resort with the best employees that really take to heart caring for your stay. The food was delicious. The resort felt remote, but was in close proximity to other resorts and to Playa del Carmen. I can't wait to return-mostly because the staff made the stay so effortless and wonderful.
