„As a student traveling on a budget, we were among the first groups to stay at this hostel. The first time I saw the old ******* house, I was deeply captivated by its decor; I'd never seen such elements or culture before, especially back in Shandong. Three women spent three months transforming an old ******* house into a hostel suitable for young people. If you're also visiting Feilai Temple for the first time and looking for a cost-effective and culturally rich place, I recommend this place. Although it only opened in July and there's still room for improvement, I think if you're also young, this is a place where you can share your travel experiences and make like-minded friends. We listened to its past, present, and future, the stories of generations preserved in its beams and pillars, and the warmth of its ethnic heritage. We also wished the old ******* house continued success, and the noodles and rice the women made were truly delicious.”

„Firstly, this has to be one of the nicest places which I stayed at in Yunnan, or in China for that matter. You may be thinking that is price is good to be true, but this place performs well above what is to be expected of that price range. I was originally planning to stay elsewhere in Benzilan, but am very glad that I stayed here. The rooms are super spacious with high ceilings and wooden furniture. The view out of my window was very green and calming. The amenities were all well-maintained and very clean. The pictures really don't do the rooms the justice that they deserve. Secondly, and very importantly, the owner - a young Benzilan local who operates the hotel with his mother - is exceptionally kind, genuine and friendly. As a solo traveller, he helped organise transport, offered lunch, and even some of the local liquor. As far as service goes, this place remains unbeaten amongst all the places I've travelled in China. The hotel overlooks the mountains surrounding Benzilan. In the evening, you can peacefully sit outside the hotel on its elevated terrace and quietly watch the mountains as the sun goes down. I would not hesitate to stay again.”

„The hostel is conveniently located between Upper and Lower Yubeng, making it easy to access either the Upper or Lower Yubeng trails. I was pleasantly surprised on my first day; the environment was excellent, the decor was new, and the facilities, including toiletries, a washer and dryer, were all very convenient. You can see the snow-capped mountains from the courtyard. The owners are all very fun and friendly. They even have a bonfire party in the evenings where you can sing, dance, and play board games – the atmosphere is wonderful! I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in a new place.”

The owner even parked our car right in front of the hotel. Even though we don’t speak Chinese, communication was smooth thanks to a translation app. Their hospitality truly stood out, and we appreciated their warm and accommodating attitude. The only downside was that our room was quite cold until the heating started working in the evening. Overall, despite this small issue, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a scenic and welcoming place to stay in the Meili Snow Mountains!”

This was a beautiful, very high quality hotel. The furnishings and details were excellent, while being truly local and unique. Some hotels look good in photos but the quality and details not good. This hotel is exactly like in the photos, even better - quality, quality, quality. Great value for the cost. It’s a 15 min walk to the main temple area, but that’s better to enjoy the nature and scenery, and the staff will drive you if you prefer. Plus there are restaurants just a few mins away. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this one!

The room is great and has a good view. It even comes equipped with an oxygen machine and heated blanket. The location is convenient, just a short walk away from the Feilaisi Observation Deck. The service is warm and friendly. I felt very at home here. You get a discount when you eat at their restaurant too. Highly recommended and I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in Yubeng during a week when access to the village was closed, and we were the only guests at the hotel. It’s located near the trailhead to Ice Lake and not too far from Lower Yubeng and the Sacred Waterfall (the return hike is steep, but anyone coming to this place should be prepared for long and demanding walks!). There was no room service during our stay (like trash collection), but the hosts were friendly, and the food at the restaurant was very tasty and fairly priced — especially considering the logistical challenges of stocking the kitchen. The room is simple but comfortable. The towels are disposable, which is a bit strange at first, but you get used to it (they actually dry you well). The view from the hotel balcony is unbelievable — definitely worth paying extra for a room with a view. We would happily stay there again.

I chose this hotel to see the Meili Snow Mountain. It's close to the Feilai Temple observation deck, a good location, only about a ten-minute walk. There are many restaurants nearby for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Since I booked a special offer room, I didn't expect too much; the room was very small. But I was incredibly lucky and got to see the beautiful Meili Snow Mountain.

Just to make it clear that the location of this hotel is not at the Meili Viewing Platform. You need to walk around 10 minutes to reach the platform to watch Meili at sunrise. The mountain that is in the background of the hotel is Baima mountain. Having said that, we loved our stay at this hotel. The cabin was nicely decorated and equipped with all amenities. We loved the bathroom! The heater was working well in the cold weather. The uncle was lovely. It was a bit hard for us to conmunicate what we wanted as we don't speak Chinese but through Wechat translation he was able to arrange a car (shared trip) to Mingyong Glacier and a private transfer back to Shangri La for us. The auntie at the breakfast was also lovely and welcoming, trying to chat with us all the time. One thing to note is that aroud the area there are a lot of construction sites (there is one opposite the hotel), so it can be dusty and noisy at times. Please check with the hotel about the construction if it is still ongoing during the time you want to visit. All in all, I highly recommend this place if you want a lovely cabin experience (with sky window!) away from the busy area. However, you won't see Meili from the hotel's windows.

Wygodne łóżka z kocem elektrycznym i czysty pokój. Minusy: Wspólne toalety i prysznic z umywalką znajdują się na zewnątrz, co nie jest idealne w zimny listopad. Pierwszego dnia kobieta pracująca była bardzo pomocna i uprzejma, pomogła mi wyprać ubrania, przygotowała jedzenie i odpowiedziała na moje pytania. Drugiego dnia spotkałem inną kobietę, która nie korzystała z aplikacji do tłumaczenia, co utrudniało sprawę. Nie zrobiła mi gorącego napoju w kawiarni i nie wyjaśniła dlaczego, a także nie była zbyt pomocna w kwestiach transportu, ponieważ nie tłumaczyła swoich odpowiedzi. Niestety, to się wyróżnia, ponieważ 99% ludzi w Chinach pomaga! Poszedłem do innej kawiarni na końcu ulicy, gdzie ludzie od razu okazali się bardzo pomocni.

What sets this guesthouse apart from others is its convenient location - while most people spend 2 nights in Upper Yubeng and 1 night in Lower Yubeng, this guesthouse was conveniently located between Upper and Lower Yubeng, allowing me to explore all the hikes without having to change accommodation. The food provided was fresh and good, and the rooms were neat and tidy. Extra points for a western toilet, as many other guesthouses only offer squatting bathrooms. The owners always looked out for our safety as well, providing information on which hikes were safe to do, weather permitting. Will highly recommend this for its convenient location and great service.

Highly recommend this hostel if you want to meet new people in Yubeng! Foreigner-friendly food (I recommend the beef fried rice!) and service (one staff member speaks English really well and others are happy to use translator apps). The only downsides about this hostel is that the toilets/showers for the dorm rooms need to be cleaned way more frequently (there was always mud from hiking boots everywhere) and the walls are very thin. If this is something that bothers you, then I would recommend you book a private room instead of the dorm. Other than that, I had a wonderful stay at this hostel!

This room is rather pricy for what it offers. Rather basic room and toilet. There is a humidifier and a small room heater which doesn’t really help in the middle of winter. However to our surprise, the bed is electrically heated and works very well and extremely useful in the wintry cold. Location is not too bad as there are many restaurants nearby and the mountain sunrise viewing deck area is maybe within 200m away. Please checkout the Sichuan restaurant just opposite the hotel which would also be recommended by the hotel staff as the food is affordable and extremely delicious. Speaking of the staff, the staff was not at the front desk at check in however he did respond quickly via WeChat. His attitude is bad as though we owed him a living.
