They were always on hand to help with anything he needed - booking taxis, suggesting suitable local restaurants that were easy to get to, and checking in on him daily to ensure he was doing well. He said he never felt alone or worried during his stay, which meant the world to our family. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, but it’s the outstanding, personalized care from the staff that made this experience truly exceptional. He’s already planning his next trip back! Highly recommend for solo travelers, especially seniors - you couldn’t ask for better support and service.

I recently stayed here as a Belgian Chinese traveler, and even though my Chinese isn’t very strong, I was welcomed with so much warmth. This hostel is a true hidden gem, tucked away from the typical tourist trails in a quiet part of the village. It’s the perfect location: right by the fields and some very trendy coffee shops, yet only a 5-minute scooter ride from the main bay and the best surf spots. The owners, Shuiku (水库) and Xiaoxiao (笑笑), really made my trip. Shuiku immediately helped me sort out a scooter and personally showed me where to find the best waves, while Xiaoxiao’s English is quite good, which made everything so much easier. They also pointed me toward some local restaurants that were all absolutely delicious. The vibe of the place is just great. It’s incredibly clean because the cleaning lady and Shuiku himself clean the place several times a day. I loved the design of the indoor chill-out area, though sitting outside to enjoy the tropical weather was just as good. There’s a washing machine which is super handy, and you can rent surfboards for a very fair, cheap price. Because the owners' friends drop by almost daily, there’s always a lively, authentic atmosphere. I met a great mix of foreign tourists and Chinese solo travelers trekking around the island by bike or motorcycle. Many Chinese couples and families where staying too, it is very kid-friendly too. I even ended up meeting a French girl there, and we spent a whole week surfing together. Przyjechałem do Wanning bez żadnych oczekiwań i planów, byłem na krótkim położeniu w Hainan i postanowiłem spędzić tu jedną noc. Gospodarze Cicy i Jerry przywitali mnie po przyjeździe i sprawiły, że czuję się dobrze w domu, pokój był w stanie pierwotnym i czuł się bardzo osobisty i zapraszany. Same miejsce było nie mniej niż super, ale prawdziwym spektaklem było gościnność oferowana przez gospodarzy Cycy i Jerry. Wiedzieli, że zostaję tylko na jeden dzień, więc planowali pełny 1-dniowy kurs na mój czas tutaj. Dostałem propozycje dotyczące działań w okolicy, a byłem jeździny wokół nich do niektórych autentycznych potężnych miejsc, takich jak plantacja kawy i lokalna restauracja. Poczułem się jakbym był w domu daleko od domu, nawet w kraju, który jest tak różny od mojego (Anglii). The apartment is nice, and we got an upgrade. However, not recommended for foreigners because you can't add Wechat with the phone numbers provided. The place itself is deteriorating because you have to cross a bridge to rent an e-bike. We used a taxi instead. The local government destroyed the area and many restaurants are closed.

Very clean and modern hotel, super friendly staff, and great location close to all food/night events, but far enough from the loud bars that you get some noise reduction. The West end of the beach is less than a minute walk, but the surfing beach is a 10 minute walk on the far East end. I'll definitely stay here again when I return. 🤙🏼

I stayed here for 5 days in the off season. Booked a single room, price was decent. The bed was comfortable, it had a desk for me to work during the day. There's a gym on the ground level that honestly has all the equipment I needed, a rare thing in these parts. The owner is from dongbei and was super friendly, he treated us to baijiu and frozen pears (dongbei). This was a great spot to chill out for a while and relax. I should probably mention that my Mandarin is pretty good. I met another traveller that could speak English but other than that you might need to whip out the ol goog translate. I needed to move on otherwise I would've stayed here longer, great place!

Naprawdę muszę odpuścić sobie ten nadmorski pensjonat! Przed rezerwacją obawiałam się, że natknę się na miny, a w rezultacie pobyt był od razu pełen wrażeń. Zdecydowanie najszczęśliwszy wybór tego wyjazdu! Lokalizacja jest naprawdę idealna, minuta spacerem do plaży, po otwarciu okna roztacza się bezkresny widok na morze. Wczesnym rankiem budził mnie szum fal, wieczorem na tarasie można było obserwować, jak słońce barwi powierzchnię morza na pomarańczowo, a w nocy spać w blasku gwiazd – właśnie tak powinny wyglądać wakacje nad morzem ~

A perfect place to stay in Riyuewan Bay. Chuck and his lovely family are your caring hosts. The rooms are spacious, sparkling clean with a cosy matress. Everything you need is in walking distance. Especially for me, the surfrental right infront of the place, the surfspots around the corner. Chuck helps you to arrange everything. From surfboard, transport, travel recommendations. Second time staying here in Surfer's Garden. Super friendly to foreigners. Staff can speak some conversational English. Great vibes here if you love active travel with local night life experience. It's located in the village, but it's easy to reach out to the beach line just in 10-15 min walk or several minutes on a e-scooter that you can rent directly in the store. Welcome to negotiate for a better rent price 😁. 60 - ＞ 40 RMB. If you are lucky, you might can find a lower price in the village. Many local food stores and convenience stores just outside of hotel. For renting the surf board, I'd recommend go directly to the stands right on the beach (right side of the beach, closer the bridge that connects the island with living compound). 80-100 RMB per board for one time use (a couple of hours). Absolutely must go to Kaya and other bars for late drinking and partying! You can meet lots of cool young Chinese people.
